Okay for once I checked the rules and the FAQ before I'm asking a question here.
What do you mean you can't place objects on stairs?
I've looked and looked and it seems to me that the FAQ describes stairs as clear terrain for movement and LOF the only exception is that you have to move through them all to get up a building unless you have a power like leap/climb or flight.
And as for placing objects the rulebook only specifies that you have to place them on clear terrain and not in your starting area.
So can anyone point out to me where it says you can't place objects on the stairs in the rulebook or the FAQ?
Thanks

You can place objects on stairs. Where did you hear that you couldn't?

Chapeauism

This was forward an email that one of my local players asked.

Q: "Can you place terrain on stairs?"
A: "No, terrain cannot be placed on stairs.

Chapeau"

Granted, they didn't actually state the word 'objects', but that was what my player was refering to.

Yeah.. I kinda had that impression also...

Objects can only be placed on Clear terrain.

Stairs are Stair terrain though are treated as Clear for the purposes of Line of Fire and movement.

Let me see if I can find where I got that...

(I just *love* Chapeauisms :ermm: )

If it's not in the FAQ and it's not in the rules then go ahead. Even the mighty HAT is not official until the FAQ is updated and made tournement legal.

My opinion.

Okay, I'm finally going to suck it up and ask. Who is Chapeau? I know that he is the undisputed HC Rule master (with Tsannik in a close second), but who is he? Is he a Wizkids employee or HCR employee or just some guy?

Chapeau is the official WizKids Rules Arbitrator for HeroClix, meaning he is the person being referred to at the top of the FAQ---his word is official.

OK maybe official. But not in effect and not here only on the Wixkids forums.

Forums: Any ruling made by the Official Rules Arbitrator on a Wizkidsgames HeroClix forum is
an official ruling. The ruling is only tournament legal when the FAQ is published on the
Wizkid’s website. The FAQ will have a Tournament Legal date in it.
