View Full Version : Crit Mindcontrol questions
If you roll a 12 when trying to mindcontrol you do 1 damage, which is done before you get to do an action with the mindcontrolled fig ..what happens when this damage puts the fig into a clix where it has battle furry ? you can't use your mindcontrolled action anymore right ?
And what happens when you crit, get a knockback cause you rolled a double and knock that fig out of your range, or of a building and out of sight ...is it still mindcontrolled ?

I would assume that you would still get to make the MC action no matter what. You MC'ed the figure while it was (in range/without Battle Fury/whatever) and so you get the action. It just means that now you can't make a second MC attack against it.
Hmmm...
That would be my guess, too.
Although you would never be able to get a 2nd MC against the same figure in the first place.
2-3 Ligthning Bolts means 2-3 individual and SEPARATE targets rolling the dice once to hit all separate targets.
Although, when I reread your post, texaswashingto, I think you are are saying a separate character on your team with MC wouldn't be able to attack the previously MCed character because it now has Battle Fury. Correct?

Correct that is what I was trying to say. Also, if you wanted to push to MC the fig a second time the next turn, you couldn't.

This has been discussed here before, quite some time ago. I'll look for it (as I posted quite frequently in that thread). Unfortunately, I believe the final decision was:
If you roll a critical hit while trying to mind control a figure and you knock the figure into Battle Fury, then the mind control action cannot happen. The Battle Fury is on the dial before the Mind Control action takes place, so it CAN'T take place.
But let me go look...

I was correct, the Mind Control action cannot take place. Here is the thread:
When Mind Control *triggers* Battle Fury (http://www.hcrealms.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=10026)
The key part is HeroComplex's post where he explains Magister's ruling - "Damage from a critical hit during a Mind Control attack is clicked before assigning an action to the Mind Controlled figure. The attack is resolved, then the action is assigned. (Magister, August 1, 2002)"
