How do you make a custom avatar. I have a picture id like to use, and am not fond of any that you cna choose from.

You need to be at least a Bronze Donor. $10 for a year, and it gives you a lot of other perks too, like an expanded PM box and no advertisements.

Yeah; what they all said. It goes to a good cause. I'm about to buy 3 new servers and boost site performance by about 4x. :) You could always wait for Double Donor Days as well (there will be another one before the end of the year). That's where we slash the price of every donor level by 50%.

After you make the donation there are restriction on an avatar but just about any image can be changed to fit the specifications.
