Man, was that intense! What a rush! Not only were the maps entirely populated with horrific figures (for the first time ever, people brought HorrorClix - Nessie, LE The Widow, and LE Vlad the Impaler, who does FIVE penetrating damage to a fig with 2 action tokens!), but the games themselves were seriously dramatic. They were hard-fought and made extensive use of the Victim tokens and the locally-legendary Monster Hunter. This year, you could SAVE Victims as well as slay them, for a heal and some quick VP's, and the folks who picked up on it got the wins. Additionally, the Monster Hunter pops out of hindering randomly and fires silver spikes for 1 pen damage.
Folks also came dressed to kill! Four Halloween costumes were in attendance - The Joker, Midget Reaper, The Nightwa tchman, and the event's host, Dr. Love!!! Check out phoenixgames1 on Facebook for photos soon.
In the end, it was:
3rd place: Justin S.
2nd place: Nate M.
and the newly-coronated Master of Shadows: Jason B.
The winner gets a personalized trophy; a self-selected, vinyl The Bridge map from Galeforce 9; and a free sub from Firehouse Subs! Other finishers received boosters of their choice (a chase and an SR were pulled), classic and current LE's, more free food, maps, and Kryptonite. And to top it off, all of that awesomality was enjoyed by TWICE the participants as last year. In only its second year, it's obvious that Halloween Slaughterhouse has firmly cemented itself as the area's horror season Clix event. Join us next year for a new round of terror!
