View Full Version : The Deal With Green Goblin's Sculpt??
What's the deal? I envisioned Classic Green Goblin. What's up with this guy? where's his Glider? who the heck is he? I stopped reading Spiderman awhile ago... before the whole clone thing even. Is this the new Green Goblin Norman back from the dead? someone please fill me in....

He is the Ultimate Green Goblin from the Ultimate Spider-man series.
If it was just the glider Green Goblin it would be a clone of hobgoblin, how boring is that?

That is what Norman Osborn looks like when he becomes the Green Goblin in the Ultimate Spider-man series. He doesn't use a glider because he can fly all by his lonesome. He also creates fireballs to throw at poor old peter.
If you haven't read any of the Ultimate stuff you might want to try some of the TPBs they are actually good reads.

Whilst the sculpt is most definetely the Ultimate version, I think the dial is pretty close to the original (and modding Hobby into Gobby isn't all that hard, just a paint job really :) )

Isn't the Ultimate Goblin a cross between Carion and Norman Osborn? That's how he's able to fly! So why doesn't he have poison and/or steal energy? Looks like the sculpt is Ultimate, but his dial is original GG!

Not to start a dispute, but what the heck is the big deal? I grew up with the Harry Osborne Goblin. And I've read alot of the Norman Osborne Goblin. Yeah he was cool.
But this is an AWESOME sculpt. And an #### good figure!
What's the big deal?

The "Big Deal" is that the figure isn't referred to as the Ultimate version, yet that's clearly what the sculpt is (stats can be debated)
So people are expecting the original Green Goblin and are a little shocked when they see this impost, er, alternate version. You can say it's only aesthetics, but this IS a miniatures game after all . . .

I suppose I could see that, to some point.
My buddy was actually pretty mad about this, he was hoping for a original green tight wearing goblin that went around on his glider. It was kinda funny though watching him throw a fit over it, but now hes busy using a Hobgoblin sculpt and making it into a GG one, so when he gets the GG U he will switch out the figure on the flying post.
that's what I'm thinking. I like old GG. Nice sculpt; but it doesn't tickle my nostalgia.
No big deal. Mod a Hobgoblin, and switch out the fig.
Gotta love that dial, though.
