I was looking at the X-plosion figures that I had, so far (missing about 15, 7 of them Uniques), and decided that, for me at least, these are the playable figures (in no particular order):

R/E/V Con Artist (BROKEN!)
R/E/V Ninjas, SWATS (Fodder, Point Fillers)
R/E/V Paramedics (Best group of Medics in the game)
R/E/V Destiny (Scarlet Witch, who?)
R/E/V Mystique (Hidden Perplexer)
R/E/V/U Shadowcat (Cheap Phasing Taxi)
E/V Doc Samson (The new wave bruiser)
E/V Abomination (A good bruiser)
V Crimson Dynamo (Cheeselord done right)
E/V Beast (Better than he is being given credit for)
R/E/V Psylock (Ugly, but extremely useful, in almost all situations)
E/V Taskmaster (IMHO the best figure in the set)
V Silver Samurai (haven't seen his other versions yet, but a nice alternative tho the IC U Elektra)
V Gambit (A great Support Piece)
V Mandarin ( The New Dr Doom)
V Storm ( I could see her being useful)
U Elektra ( R U Kidding Me?)
U Deathbird ( Good at first, won't last without support figs)
U Apocalypse ( Low D, but consistency makes up for it -same number in 3 clicks-TWICE!)
U Green Goblin (Among the best taxi's created to date)
U Sauron (This guy is something to behold-can't wait for my own!)
U Spider-Man ( Finally a Spidey we can be proud of)
U Savage Hulk (In big Games, You WANT the Green Machine)
U Phoenix (I think she will be a very used piece)

So, That's what I have/have seen.

What do you think are the useful figures out of XP? I know every figure is useful, but as I lok at my other sets, there are figures that haven't seen the light of day, much less have been played with.

What would your list look like?

Doesn't anyone else have an opinion on this?

Yes. i have an opinion. I can use all the figures in XP. CT, IC, and HT as well :) There is no figure who is not usable.

Oh yes, and the Con Artist is FAR FAR FAR from being borken. Seriously. If an 11 point figure is gonna ruin your game then HC may not be for you.

gotta go with shin on that.

One click of perplex, at the most two. easily taken out with a ranged hand ninja or a SHIELD Sniper. The only way they are broken is if they are cracked off their base.

The Veteran Ranged Hand Ninja is amazing. Hydra ability. Range 8 Damage 2 with stealth? Standing in hindering next to E Taskmaster and E Psylocke this fodder piece was ruling the board. Yes, i know that I have added two very good pieces in this example but 16 points bring so much that makes TM and Psylocke so much more powerful. If you don't give this guy a serious try you're missing out.

How to Kill Con Artists & Medics:

Indoors: Phase E or V Silver Samurai thru the wall and right up next to them. Toughness means they can't touch him (sans critical hit) and he'll just slice & dice.

Outdoors: Any RCE will do. I personally like SHIELD snipers & SWAT specialists for their cheapness.

The only thing borken around here is Batman doing more damage than Superman. With guys like Mandarin ruling the ranged domain, not even Cheeselord is borken anymore.

Speaking of which, E Psylocke is a Godsend. My opponents can't touch her from afar (stealth), and when I got her next to V Mandarin in the bushes they rule the board, outwit or no outwit. And don't give me that "it don't work with RCE" #### cause I know that already. It's just that I never get Mandarin down to his RCE clix cause noone can get close enough.

Well, I didn't say that they were ruining the game for me. One may not be broken but when you consider that for 39 points, you can fit one of each version on a team, and pulswave them to their perplex, believe me, it can be broken.

One more thing, I can use all the figures from HC too! :) Hoever, there are some that are more useful than others.....;)

But that's like, 70 or 80 points just for some supports that can be taken out by the hand. The Hand and SWAT members rock!

Check this out, play the new Hulk in a 200 point game. I'll allow it, I'm a nice guy. He can be totally wiped out by 4 swat officers! Those guys are so cool! And that's not even 200 points!

Hands down Hand ninjas rule.
I think R Taskmaster is also strong, he's a U Elektra alternative.
E Beast and E Iceman will be seen for adding Defenders ability to wildcard teams.
I dunno about Silver Samurai, he's cheap and strong, but he can't push off the first click, and it's pretty easy to force him off it.
Mandarin is a monster.
Green Goblin, what a great guy.
Colossus adds versatility to XMen teams by soaking up push or MC damage by armoring up.
Shadowcat, 'nuff said.

V Silver samurai- excellent support killer and back up fighter.
Any Taskmaster-excellent fighter.
V Mandarin-12 range and a wholr slew of powers.
E V Abomination- makes Herc look like a wuss.
V Storm-great all round fig.
Deathbird-deadly.

There are a few more as these are the first ones that come to mind.

My list would not include SWAT Officers. They have no range, a max AV of 8 and most of their points come from incapasitate. There are better alternatives if you want the SHIELD team ability.

Since nobody mentioned her I don't think, Destiny. At 20-29 points, who cares if they KO her, they'll probably have used up a few actions to do so.

So far, the only figures I've seen who I don't think are pretty useful are:

The cops with zero range incapacitate. There's cheaper tie-up figures, they cost a decent number of points, and they're easy to pick off at range.

And Boom Boom/ Meltdown: Endergy Explosion's nice, but I'd rather have a Shield Trooper or an LE Raksor or Nenora for their team abilities. Although even here you can use the E/V versions as a sacraficial lamb to heal your X-men.\
