View Full Version : Search for Members, by Location
We are in the first stages of reviving our "Search by Location" feature in the Member List. At this point, if everyone would please update their profile (in the User CP) to include not only their country, but their Zip/Postal Code, we will do our best to update our database with the correct information. The system only has US Zip Code information at this time, but we are actively working to get a City to Postal Code list for all countries. If you have any information that would help us compile such a list, please let us know.

i tried to enter my zip code (04974) and it wont let me put the 0 in, it puts it as 4974, gets searsport, me right, but its 04974, maybe a bug dont know, but most maine zip codes start with 0 so that might be a problem for all us Mainers.. :)

Canada Post has a great postal code directory - go to canadapost.ca and follow the link for postal code lookup. There are maps and online search engines, etc. Don't know if there's anything to specifically help you, but it's a start.

I've noticed the posts per day don't go up as we post to the realms.

If you don't want to be found that's your business. No one's going to force you to put your zips in.
I think it's a great idea. Hope you get around to adding is aussies as well. Found a Postcode database that you can download for all of Australia on the Australia Post website.
http://www1.auspost.com.au/postcodes/
And follow the links
Hope that helps!

I don't think we're gonna have to wory about ID theft just from putting in our zip code.

I'm not afraid of ID theft or anything, but my town is so small that if you mailed a letter to:
"ME"
"My Town, My State"
"My Zip Code"
It would absolutely get to me with no problem at all.
So I am keeping it private (A need to know basis only)
:) :)
