Episode 1: Son of Darkseid (Ambush Bug)

Plot Synopsis - Darkseid swaps children with Highfather trading away Orion the dog of war for Scott Free the escape artist Mr. Miracle. However in this elseworld's tale unknown to Darkseid the 5th dimensional imp Mxyzptlyk, an eternal prankster, decides to cradle swap Scott Free with Irwin Schwab leaving the Lord of Apokalips to raise this completely unambitious son. Darkseid has a plan to take his scrawny son hunting and beef him up for battles to come:

BATTLEFIELD: Metropolis. The Boom Tube opened near the fallen globe of the Daily Planet, what better way to test his son than against the might of Kryptonians! Darkseid cautiously waited as his son tried and failed to pick up the power-up gem. The Legion of Pink worked their way forward, with Lucy Lane missing an initial attack leaving her in the open. Darkseid Omega Effected the bedazzeled babe into base contact with his son, and influenced by the Drill Sergeants, Ambush Bug made quick work of heroes that were weakened by Darkseid and the Parademons. Perhaps had the sequin clad super-team not been distracted by the shiny red gem, they may have had a chance. Amazingly, Ambush Bug got the final blow on everyone (rolling a critical hit on Livewire for 5 damage!). Darkseid was pleased.

Chapter 2, Versus:

The New Mutants

BATTLEFIELD: Madripoor.

The Boom Tube opened in the docks with Darkseid facing off against a crippled genetecist and his army of teens:

Again, Ambush Bug proved unworthy of the power of the gem. As he wasted his time trying to power up, the rest of the team got shot to bits by the psychic mutant. Lots of pushing moved the retinue of Darkseid from the bars to the boat where the mutant mastermind cowered.

The wheelchair bound educator tried to flee with Cypher sacrificing some blood to grease his mentor's wheels. All for naught however as Bugsy managed a killing blow on the Professor, though his father was unimpressed. Time was called with only Darkseid and his son remaining on the field. Perhaps his son was too soft on children, the Lord of Apokalips thought - maybe he needed to find a darker opponent...

Chapter 3, Versus:

Nazis HYDRA

BATTLEFIELD: Metropolis

Damage Control was in play, so the Gem was lost as an option. Fixer flew into Darkseid's range on his first turn carrying Mentallo, and Darkseid immediately Omega effected Mentallo depositing him in front of his son. Backed up by the Drill Sergeants and Sensei Desaad, Ambush Bug attacked for 3 damage. The following turn Ambush Bug pushed for 3 more damage, KO'ing Mentallo through his own merit.

The Parademons started taking fire, as the Hydra reared its head. Fixer was finished off by the Bug next, though he had lost most of his punch when the Drill Sergeants fell in a hail of bullets. Darkseid Omega Effected Bob into base contact with 'Bug, but Ambush could not manage to hit Bob's 16 defense. Bob ran away in fear of the Son of Darkseid as time was called, and a victor was determined with a 4 point spread.


Chapter 4, Versus:

The New "New" Defenders

BATTLEFIELD: Airport. Waiting to board the plane back to Apokalips, a band of heroes shows up to check the luggage of Darkseid and his entourage. Iron Fist was the first to fall to Ambush Bug, followed by Sub Mariner and then Dr. Strange.

Red She-Hulk proved too formidable an opponent so Darkseid finished her off himself, leaving the Silver Surfer to fight Ambush Bug. The two battled back and forth, before the power cosmic prevailed, leaving Ambush Bug beaten and bloody on the floor. Desaad poisoned the Sentinel of the Skyways in revenge, and then he and the Lord of Apokalips boarded the plane.
