Oh cool, I was just thinking what would really help this set is MORE freaking alter egos. The most any set should have is 2 and that is pushing it. I take back anything good I have said about this set.

I like the way they are making the AE power work now, it's a huge improvement over the previous way. This figure is a little too expensive for what he brings to the table IMO. If he was 35 points, I'd be all over it. As is, he's below average. Also, at 35 points you could fit 4 of them on an A.I.M or Intelligencia theme team with M.O.D.O.K, which would rock. I'll still have to get at least 5 to go with my 10 A.I.Marine Hulk's.

An interesting piece if you consider them an upgraded version of Easy Company Soldier and the cost seems about on par for what they gain (actual RS and higher stats, a TA, etc). Toughness and Shapechange enhances you chances of making the AE transfer. It may be accurate that you can't outwit their AE, but that just makes it more likely an opponent will outwit shapechange and shoot them.

I love generics, but I'm not so sure about this guy. 50 points is a lot for what he does considering the strong possibility he'll be dusted before he gets a chance to transform. Remove the AE power and I wonder how much cheaper he'd be.

How unwise.

I think if any set is going to have a bunch of alter ego figs it should be this one. Think about it, this is the perfect set for the mechanic. When someone hulks out they become a completely different character which is perfect for alter-ego. I'll admit I wasn't thrilled with the original use of the mechanic for figs like Superman and Batman, but in this case I think it really does lend itself to comic accuracy. Bruce Banner is not Hulk, sure in a way they are in fact the same person, but they could not be more different. I think Hulking-out is the way AE should in fact be used and I'm glad to see them finally get it right from a comic accurate standpoint.

So, I just had this funny idea -- yes, it's off theme, but part of me wants to run these guys with JL Aquaman, the one who has the brilliant tactician power for fish foot guys. Sgt. Aquaman and his Gurgling Commandos will be seeing play at my venue.

This guy, with the new intelligencia TA, brings a lot to wildcard teams. Decent numbers, hydra TA, intelligencia ATA to copy, running shot all for 50 points. I'm definitely a fan even if you weren't lucky enough to pull his AE
