Is the General Discussion like Another Realm, where no matter how much you post your posts per day don't go up nor your total posts?

I don't think GD works that way cause that's the main area I post in and my posts seem to be recorded.

Mine have only gone up in Artisan's Guild and one other fourm. When I post to GD it doesn't go up.
why can't they ALL be counted? it's not like what I have to say in another realm has any less validity to it than the rest of the board. I mean COME ON! GIVE ME CREDIT WHERE CREDIT IS DUE! LOL

Darn it, I'm gonna get in the top 10 if it kills me!
Certain Forums don't count in the accumulation of posts, one reason is because of threads like this. To prevent people from posting just for the sake of getting their name higher on a list. Some people will post lots of one or two word replies or create threads with lots of posts with no content for the sole purpose of raising their total. This is something we frown upon and try to keep from happening.
Another Realms is full of threads where the posts have little to no content, these really don't contribute to the game or the community so they're not counted.
so are you saying the thread "why MUST there be pain?" adds nothing to the community? really? not that I take offense or anything, but it has drawn ME closer to alot of poeple.

Well, it doesn't contribute to the game, although to the community. So maybe it has to meet both.

I did this post as an honest query, not simply to get my name up in lights. I would honestly like to know which sections do and don't count. Seems odd that the General Discussion of Hero-Clix doesn't count.

One day I'll be #1, & when I am, you will all fear me!!! Why, 'cause I'll eat nothing but chili for the rest of my life, that's why.:p

That is just nasty, my brother. I can understand why Another Realm doesn't count. But General Discussion? Why not just quit bothering counting at all?
GD should count, it always has. If it doesn't currently it may have been a goof when the forum was switched over or they were re-organized.
Thats gonna take some looking into.

I'd like to know as well...I jsut signed up on here, and have no chance nor desire to make any top posting lists, but it would be nice for me to know how many posts I've posted. I dont see the point in counting any if you dont count them all. The top ten dont get any prizes or anything do they?

The easiest way to see how many posts you have is to Message yourself. It gives it in your message.
If you press the little magnifying glass next to your name it will come up with a list of all the posts you've ever made, thats as good a way as any to get a post count.

Just adding to my post count...hehe! Seriuosly, why do post that are made in the GC forum not get counted? Are technical difficulties preventing posts made in GD from counting? SQL server is such a great product I might add, if that is what HCrealms uses as there database. Also, Druss, does HCrelams currently use the .NET framework to server web pages, i.e. Visual Studio.net, or do you guys use Apache? Are even allowed to say? Nevermind, forget I even asked.

I ment IIS 5.0/.net, not Visual Studio.net. Man, I am off on this stuff tonight!

I know you guys are busy with coding the forum. It still has some bugs with IE from time to time. Not a complaint, I just know you have a ton to do already.
I'm pretty sure the whole thing is hosted on a Linux/Unix system but I can't say for sure.
Shin-Goji, it'll get looked at, just a matter of Typhon or Draddog finding the time.

No problem! I just tried a few posts in General Discussion and it didn't have any effect. But thanks for helping maintain my reason to live. If I didn't have HCRealms, work would be very very very boring. I'd actually have to do my job. *shiver*
Crucial Realm!
It wasn't a goof actually... we are moving away fomr the "post count" thing. I can see by the previous posts that people are willing to do anything to be in the "top10".. and that probably includes spamming the site. I'll discuss the issue with the moderators, and we'll see how it goes. We've always been about the Quality of the posts.. NOT the quantity.

Hmmm, we could always have a quality count :)
