Quarantine

Sorry, I didn't know about this forum, so I just copied my original post over to this place.
A friend and I were talking a we both thought it would be cool if somewhere along the way, a Forge figure was made. Gambit and the White Queen both add Perplex and Outwit to the X-Men, but how cool would a guy with both abilities be? In terms of stats, I'd think that Forge would be similar to Black Panther, but his abilities would be what set him apart. Try this for a possible Vet form:
Speed: 8 7 6 6 5 5
Attack: 9 8 8 7 6 5
Defense: 15 15 14 14 13 12
Damage: 2 2 2 2 1 1
Range: 8 (one target)
Powers: Energy Explosion (1st click only) then Incapacitate (for next 3 clicks) on Attack, ESD (first 3) then Willpower (on 4th and 5th) on Defense, and Perplex and Outwit on Damage (first 3 Perplex, last 3 Outwit). X-Men team ability.
Okay, now tell me what you all think.
Willpower? For what, the mean way he hobbles through a fight? Outwit, maybe for his weapons, but I can't see ESD, he can barely move.
I truly hope to never see this guy in clix. He is supporting cast at best, right up there with Jarvis, Aunt May, and MJ. Don't waste the spot in the list.

I've always liked Forge. It's the mockasins. I've got a pair just like his. Forge should absolutely have Energy Shield/Deflection because he has an actual energy shield that he has used before. He's a Vietnam veteran, so he's good in combat. His inventions give him almost limitless potential as a clix. He could have RCE for his fancy guns. Outwit for his powers neutralizer. Enhancement or Perplex for an invention to enhance the powers of others. The possibilities are vast. Considering that they've made clix of nobodies like Viper and Madame Masque, Forge is a strong contender.
He is a crippled Vietnam vet, and only deserves ESD if his defense is a 14 or lower. He is a superb inventor, but in a battle (like a clix match) he doesn't have time to create stuff from scratch. It takes hours for him to build complex machines.

Yeah, that's why he builds them before hand and uses them when the fighting starts. The time he takes to build machines varies depending on the machine, and how quickly the writer needs him to finish it to develop the relevant plot point. I've seen Forge take weeks to build an invention, and I've seen him throw something together in a matter of seconds. I forgot to mention earlier that Forge is also a skilled magic user. His lack of a real leg and hand are more than made up for in the prosthetic limbs abilities. They are capable of taking more punishment and they don't get tired, hence the Willpower.
So he can have willpower, but only if he moves in circles. lol
Since you don't know who your opponent will use, Forge can't create something beforehand, because he doesn't know what he is facing. When he created the mutant power nullifier that temporarily took Storm's powers, he knew what he was facing: Mutants. But then Vision can be mind-controlled by Prof. X in this game, so I guess Forge could create on the fly. I still don't want him, though.

Well, I would have rather gotten an Archangel figure instead of Madame Masque. In the immortal words of Mick Jager, you can't always get what you want.

We may not agree on Forge, but I am with you on this one 100%!
Madame Masque was a longtime and important Iron Man villain in the 70's. I admit that I don't know what she has been up to lately as I stopped reading comics 6 years ago. Give Count Neferia's daughter a break.

I think a Forge with 3 clicks of outwit followed by 3 clicks of enhancement and a low point cost and X-Team ability would be cool.

I agree that she is a character with a long history. We were just saying that Angel (or Count Nefaria, for that matter) would have been better clix.

The same could be said for Batman as well though. That guy seems to have EVERYTHING on that blasted utility belt of his.
He doesnt know what he faces beforehand, but he always seems to have some sort of gadget to counter whatever he faces. The same could be done with forge.
besides, the only outwitter the X-men have is the 94 point white Queen, who is useless besides that. Forge could be the Black Panther of the X-men.
Drop the willpower, Id mostly have him with Outwit to bypass defensive powers, and maybe a click or 2 of RCE for his weapons experience once his outwit has passed.
I definately wouldnt have him as a frontline contender, nor give him too many things to drive up his point cost. The X-men are in dire need of outwit for themed games, and Forge fits that bill perfectly.

Forge is cool as a auxiliary character such a Black Panther. I say give him the Energy Shield and Outwit since there aren't many outwit characters. The Outwit can turn to Enhancement after the 1st clix enabling X-men to add damage for cheap. A 27-37 point outwit and Enhancement addition.
You have all convinced me, bring on Forge! The idea rarebreed has of Outwit for 1 then Enhancement is a good way to go.
I think that lots of people come into heroclix battles with a plan or weapon, ex. Joker, Dr. Doom, Riddler... most people with perplex or outwit on their first click. Forge fits in perfectly.
