Oh, I know it has been done. Anonym0use ran a Munchkin game a while back. But that was before I started realizing the awesomeness that is MUNCHKIN!
Kill the Monsters, Steal the Treasure, Stab your Buddy. What's not to love?
This will be my next game, after Season 5 closes down. Game will be based mostly on all the expansions I have (which is up until Need for Steed), but I may include a couple things that I know from expansions I have not yet acquired.
Who wants to get their Munchkin on?

I wonder what I am looking at for this game. A Veronica Mars "I'm lucky if I get 10", a TV Mafia "20 people, but a long time to do so" or an old School All Stars "30, no problem".
Probably not that latter.

It's still.the holiday season, so a lot of people aren't around. There should be more.
Then again, I expected my game to be full before Christmas...

Sign-ups are suffering from the holidays. I thought my latest theme would have a bunch of sign-ups. I have 3. :ermm:

You could always go with old favorites. Or just characters you like.
I'm not terribly fond of "submit your character" games myself, so I won't sign up until I know what my choices will be.
I fully agree that more games are needed though. :)

As with all my games, I will do my very best to not let that be a handicap. I'm usually pretty good at making players who don't know the theme not be left stranded.
Besides, Munchkin is easy. There are players. They have weapons. They kill monsters. All done in the most ridiculous ways. You'll be fine.

You start with the race and gender that you actually are (human/male or female), and during the course of the game you can get a class (priest, warrior, cleric, rogue), change your gender, and change your race (halfling, elf, dwarf)
The mechanics are simple: you can equip a piece of armor on each "slot" (2 hands, armor, headgear, feet), and have as many additional pieces (tailsman of thisorthat).
Also, you can get an extra hand, maybe find a way to use two different pairs of shoes at the same time, etc. Also there are cards called "cheat" where you can use an item even if you really can't.
Its a very wonky game that is loads of fun.

The Munchkin theme is made for sequels. Just saying.
This game will cover only the original Munchkin theme (the D&Desque version) and only up until the Need for Steed expansion, as that is all I own.

Last night, in a bout of insomnia, I started planning this game. I have a lot of ideas. Some of which may be pretty out there (even for me), but I am excited.
The more players I have, the more room to explore I get. Just saying is all.

Started planning today. This is, by far, the most radically different game I have ever planned. Going to take a lot of work to balance, and their is a chance I screw that up, but I think it is going to be a lot of fun!

Game is now planned and (hopefully) balanced. Next step, write the roles up and send them out.
