I know I'm probably not the only one to make my own custom figures. I've seen several other Punishers and an excellent Silver Surfer. I'm just curious to know who's working on what and how they turned out. I've got an entire set planned out and my current project is making my own team of the Squadron Supreme. (This one's easy, just taking the JLA members and repainting them.)
So far, I've got R/E/V Punisher and Unique Punisher Armor (Mandroid Armor) R/E/V Power Man (Thugs) and a few Squadron members finished.
What's everybody else doing?
One of my most treasured customs is a modified Rookie Aquaman, reworked to look like he did on the old Super Friends cartoon...

Right now I'm working on a few Skrull mods.
Up until now, I've been working on making the Guardian of the Galaxy. So far I have:
Major Vance Astro (R Captain America)
Nikki (Ex Black Widdow)
Yondu (Ex Hawkeye)
Aleta (Huntress and Black Widow hybrid)
Martinex (Ex Bullseye)
I still have to make a Charlie 27 (thinking about using a Collossus for the fig, but putting him on a Hercules base) and a Starhawk (Human Torch is the best I've found so far).
After them, I might end up modding a Yellowjacket and then possibly making a Talon (but I have no idea what to use for him. He needs Leap/climb, B/C/F and a short ranged attack as he fires his claws)

Are you guys making your own dials for these figures as well? A friend of mine got ahold of a program that allows us to make and print our own dials. We can input the desired stats and powers. It works pretty well and makes the figures that much more unique.
I like the Guardians of the Galaxy idea...
I also plan on making sets of Cloak and Dagger, but I haven't found a decent figure to use for Cloak. I thought maybe there might exist a figure in Mage Knight that might be suitable. Anybody have any ideas?

What program is it to print dials Jumpboot? I have been wanting to print my own dials to put in my bases, but the only one I have found uses Adobe Illustrator, and I dont want to pay lots of $$$$$$ for it.

I've don a Batman Beyond, Snake Eyes, and a Helmet-less Magneto. I'm working on a Ghost Rider, Darth Maul and Madman.
I don't do custom dials for myself. I base the figure completely on an existing figure.
I figure it's fair... everyone knows how much the new fig should cost, and I can simply tell my opponent, "It's a custom Flying Skrull figure, but its base is Rookie Annihilus," or whatever...

Hey folks,
I used Photoshop for my dials.
(Happen to have it for my job.)
I started with a hi-res scan of the dial "innards"
~ cropped the image to a centered (important) square
~ rotated the image 'til the "first click" was vertical
~ Made a layer for the "3 square spaces"
~ Drew in square "guides"
~ Colored and added text to each space,
~ rotated the whole image 15 deg
~ Colored and added text to the "damage" space
~ rotate 15 deg to the second click... repeat
Once you get a system going, it's pretty quick. I can do an 11 click dial in about 30 mins.
These come out just about perfect, once printed on label-paper and cut out.
I'm sure you could use the standard windows paint program, once you had a scan to start with. The "Photoshop Layers" can act as a "safety net" for mistakes and adjustments later.
I tried that web-site dial builder... it works OK... the clicks aren't perfectly centered though. You can tell it's a custom pretty easily. (not a real problem)

I don't remember the name of the dial generator program, but if you want to ask my friend if you want. He's an HCrealms user and goes by the name of ShadowKnight.
In the interest of fairness, we only play with custom figures if all players agree to it prior to starting the game.
Another program I downloaded off ##############.com is an excell spreadsheet that you enter in all the data of your custom dial and it tells you the approximate value of the figure. Makes it easier for entry in a brawl or scenario.
Hey Freak, what figure did you use to make the Mask and how did he turn out?
I'm thinking of doing Orgazmo and Choda Boy someday...ha ha - Incapacitate!

Nice! I haven't been doing any slicing and dicing myself, although I did pull off a shield from a Captain America figure to be used for my Power Princess.
What's your method, Razz?

I like your custom jobs Freak. It's nice to know I'm not alone in this endeavor!
But here's another question: with new figures in play - assuming you guys play with them instead of using them for display only, has anyone else come up with new team abilities?
When I finish my "Punisher Squad" - to include Mr. Castle himself and all the "fill in" Punishers when they thought the original was dead, I'm giving them a team ability called Extra Shot. Upon a successful ranged combat combat, the character may make a second, separate attack which does not cost any actions.
As for my Squadron members, I haven't decided yet to give them a new ability or just give them the Avengers/JLA one.

I created a Vampire/Creatures of the night team that gives Marvel figures the Batman Ally perma-stealth. In addition I also made a Midnight Sons ability for the occult heroes that will probably allow them to share AV like Syndicate team. I'm still debating if it should be AV or DV though. When I created my custom Vanisher figure, I gave him a team for his Factor 3 unit, where he could carry four adjacent figures while teleporting without requiring flight.
I'm working on JSA Customs. I'm doing The Spectre, Dr.Fate, Sand, Sandman, and Sentinal. They are coming out Pretty good. Also, I'm making custom dials to go with them. My Spectre is 265 points...he is so great!!!

I was contemplating establishing a Midnight Sons team ability as well. Blade would definitely have it...but I'm probably a ways off from custom making a Ghost Rider or Johnny Blaze.
Another team I want to do is Silver Sable's Wild Pack. It would have your generic agents and medics and all the "supers" like Sandman and Paladin. The team ability I came up with for the Pack is called "Buddy Teams" and allows two adjacent team members to move up to half the speed value of the weakest of the two, using only one move action. It's a military thing...
i am almost done my blob/fat albert mod also my eminem and gangsta thugs(white track suits) and am working on Jesus Christ(aquaman) I wonder what his dial would look like.

Can anyone help me to make a sinestro combat dial and base?
TheEnigma

My Midnight Sons team is only a theory right now.
I'm actually looking at using a Gambit for a base for Mr. Blaze. I'd have to find a cool shotgun to scale. Probably use a Thug head for the shades and sculpy some hair. He'd have a click or two of Stealth, and some EE/Psychic Blast for the hellfire shotgun, maybe 1 Toughness for the body armor.
Ghost Rider would be pretty tough, but I've seen some real nice ones here; I'm pretty sure Shin-Goji had one posted not long ago. I haven't even thought about a dial for him yet.
I'm currently working on a Morbius based on a Feral Bloodsucker from MK. All he really needs is white flesh tone, and some red for his cape. I figure he'll be a beefed up Vampire Lackey, with Steal Energy on his next to last click for when his hunger overtakes him, and finally Regen at the end. Stealth and a Flight base plus a few Toughness clicks. 'Nuff said.
I'm also contemplating a Hannibal King and Frake Drake team, and since they have few powers they'd be pretty cheap support guys. King could probably fit on a V Vamp base, and Drake would have above average attack but no Def powers.
Vengeance was kinda tough too, I wound up giving him one click of Invul dropping to Toughness for 5 more, and PB along with an EE click for his hellfire blast; 2 clicks of Charge to round out the mix.
Whaddya think?
My ongoing project is the DC heroes of WWII. I'm trying to do all the teams, JSA, All Star Squadron and the SSOV. I'll do an odd character here and there. Pics of "classic" Aquaman and Basilisk should be up soon. Almost finished my Shining Knight and Winged Victory. Also have a Marvel villain team in the works. (Can't spill the beans just yet.) Then I'd like to finish my Invaders. Not much going on. Almost forgot, my "old style" Taskmaster.

Thank you for pointing out the "old style" Taskmaster. I'm not very happy with the one they came up with for Xplosion. Nor do I like the Green Goblin. I'd much rather repaint a Hobgoblin and use him.
Does anybody have a favorite team/combo they play with on a semi-regular basis? I like to pair up Kang and Firelord whenever I get the chance, but I'm always looking for good combos. ShadowKnight is a huge fan of Quasar and Veteran Cyclops (a perfect 200 pt. team) and he rarely loses.

So we've all talked about doing guys that *should* have been done already. Has anyone, besides me, done a Marvel character that they used in the RPG or such?

Sure, take your Unique Quasar, take him of, and put sinestro from inside the construct on it, you now have a fairly close GL base, and he has the equivalent of JLA team ability. Also throw in your vision as the Martion Manhunter and you have the making of the JLA animated series team (Just need to mod Hawk Man in to Hawk Girl)

I just did a SWEET Goro, from Mortal Kombat, made from an E Abomination, and a tail from some MK centaur for his ponytail. and I'm going to start working on Shang Tsung (from Mandarin) for him to bodyguard. I also (Like a few others) used a Robin to make Hurricane Helms (WWE), Blob to make Toru from Jackie Chan adventures, The Fighting American (Cap America-type Kirby creation) Snake Eyes from a Hydra Op and Blade's right hand and sword.
Oh and a Stitch in space suit (disney)
I have made:
The Gentleman Ghost
The Shade
Bizarro (soon to be obsolete due to Cosmic Justice)
Superboy
Wondergirl
Impulse
Mr. Terrific (original)
Robin (original)
Reverse Flash
Two-Face (two different ones, actually)
Phantom Lady

So far I've made various members of the Shi'ar Imperial Guard, the Ultimates, Alpha Flight, and the Legion of Doom from the Superfriends. Not to mention a bunch of X-men not yet made, like Havok, Angel, Dazzler, Sunfire, Thunderbird, and before they were made, I had a Storm, Iceman, Gambit, Psylocke, and Beast. I made a Silver Sable, a Venom, a Wonder Man, a Supegirl, Moonknight...and I think that's all so far
i want the squadron supreme!
