Back in the early 90's when Lee and Claremont were on XMEN...there were 2 books..."X Men" and "Uncanny X Men."

Does anybody remember who were on the two teams? I think "Uncanny" featured 'Gold' team while "X Men" was 'Blue team.'

If anybody knows the roster, please let me know. Obviously it's for team building.

Thanks.

Or for those of us that just have the time on our hands to do it

X-Men Blue:
Wolverine
Gambit
Cyclops
Beast
Psylocke
Rogue

X-Men Gold:
Jean Grey
Storm
Bishop
IceMan
(Arch)Angel
Colossus

To do the Gold Theme, you'd need a stand in for Bishop and Angel

See back in the 80s they at least had the intellectual integrity to realize that Wolverine couldn't be on both teams!

Yea, they just had him in every comic! ;)

Its the American way. Find something good and overdo it.

That wasn't the 80s.

And Jubilee was on the blue team as well.

Geez, was that the nineties? I have been reading comics way too long

Yeah Gator...too long for both of us. All of a sudden...I feel very old.

Well...I pieced together the Blue team...all Vets...minus Jubilee and I topped out over 400 points.

Anybody think they would have a chance in the HC world?

A friend pointed out that if you downgrade Psylocke and Gambit to Exp. it's right down under 400.

I sometimes play "team challenge" in it you can make a "dream" team of any point size and your opponet makes a team, knowing your team, that is the same cost or lower. That way you can field the team you want. Unfortunatly the second player usually wins because he picks his team to be able to beat the first players. But fun is had by all.

I'm surprised they didn't just rename him so they could put him on both teams. I mean, you could have the classic Wolverine on one team, and on the other team, you could have Logan...

Oh, wait.

:)

heh. intellectual integrity.

Redleg:

X-Men Blue team:

E Cyclops - good enough
V Rogue - so much better for 11 points more
E Psylocke - about the same as V
E Storm - maybe not the best, but isn't this the version in the comics at the time
E Wolverine - ehhh...I feel dirty saying this, but I really hope they do a new Wolverine with X-Men team, and more like Logan.
--299 points--

Throw in V Gambit, and you get an "even" 350.

If you're not tied to Wolverine actually being an X-Man, you could go with E Logan, save 12 points, and maybe downgrade Rogue or Cyclops to get Gambit in under 300 points?

Thinking about playing this team (or something similar) against my 300-point X-Men? :)

I think Storm had her powers back by the time of the Blue/Gold teams, so I'd use her V version. I may be misremembering, but I believe she got them back when she went through the Siege Perilous with the rest of the X-Men.

This was the -first- team Gambit was ever on, so I'd use his R version.

A good substitute for Jubilee would be R Boom-Boom. Thier powers were very similar IMO.

Bishop on the other hand, I dunno. I can't wait for them to make a Clix of him and Archangel.

She had them before they went through. She flew the team up there to fight "the enemy" with her powers (a la a green lantern type taxi).

I think she worked out her "no-powers" problem just before that though (maybe enough time for her hair to grow out from the mohawk); I think it was with Foge in some alternate reality or some such that "the enemy" created. I have those comics; but they are back in Virginia and haven't been read in years.

Sorry Xian...

You are either going to face the 'wrath' of the Experienced Fantastic Four.

or...

The Ultimates.

I've yet to decide.
