There are no objects causing the Nexus. The Nexus simply is.

More to the point, the sections of blocking terrain do not affect the section of orange terrain, despite what the background images may lead you to believe.

However, that might be a great strategy to blow up a section of blocking terrain with a character like Captain America from HoT and then use the Non-nexus space to attack characters in/around the nexus. Hmmmmmmmm......
