I've had conversations about this and people always seem to have a different rule concerning multiple attacks.

For example:

V Boomerang has 3 lightning bolts with 8 range. Let's say that Spider-Man is 3 squares away from him, Captain America is 5 squares, and Wolverine is 8 squares.

My question is can he attack all 3 figs with a separate 8 range on each fig, or does his attack total up to 8 squares meaning he can only get Spidey & Cap while missing Wolvie?

What's the ruling on this?

So long as all three targets are within boomerang's range and boomerang has line of site to them, he can attack all three

When resolving a multi-targeted ranged attack, a figure can attack as many targets as it has lightning bolts within its range. Damage is reduced to one.

A character can use most superpowers with multi targeted ranged strikes too.

Boomerang can use energy explosion on multiple targets
Vet Nightwing can use incapicitate on two targets.
U elektra can use mind controll on two.

etc.. Pulse wave can not be used with multiple targets since it takes place of a normal attack and RCE cannot be used in multiple targets because the power says so in the PAC.

Hope this helps.

Multi targeted ranged strikes can also be enhanced.

If Vet Cyclops is standing next to Psylock, he can attack 3 targets and each will take 2 damage. One from his attack and a second from her enhancement. All three can be up to 10 squares away.

I'm still confused then. With his 8 range and 3 lightning bolts can he make three different 8 inch range attacks or does it have to be 3 range attacks that add up to 8 total?

It means he can make one attack, against up to 3 targets, each of which can be up to 8 range away.
