ZANKOR (http://herolix.neomonsterisland.com/mymods/zankor.jpg)
Let me tell you the story behind this little beauty. In a 400 point battle, this E Skrull Agent joined an army of his brethren, including the Super Skrull and all the Skrull LE's, to invade Earth. This Agent took out Cyclops and died to defeat Captain America. To commemorate his noble death, he has been named Zankor, the first Skrull Martyr. The shield is from a spare Captain America and the strap is a strip of vinyl.

Maybe you could put Cyclops' visor on him, too!
That is too cool! - It's like he's carrying his prize from battle with him...

The way the picture is done, it looks like a lost soul, solemnly trudging through the afterlife, the enternal warrior.
Here's the write-up for Zankor:
Skrull captain sent on an infiltration mission to Earth. Apprehended by Reed Richards and turned over to the first line. Current whereabouts unknown. [Marvel The Lost Generation 11].
I chose him because from his write up he seemed dedicated to the Skrull cause.
I really like that !
Well done.

Not to be too nit-picky, but wouldn't a Skrull Captain have a different neck piece. I thought the lesser Skrulls used the circular one (thus the neck pieces on the Warrior, Agent and Commando vs. the one on Super Skrull). Just possibly adding a bit more authenticity (or maybe just being silly, I dunno).
It is truly inspiring to hear your Skrull tales. It makes reptiles everywhere proud. Now if only you'd stop talking about Skrull Milk everywhere... ;)

Or Skrull burgers?
The point was to make a simple mod that would not require the figure to be repainted and sprayed down with sealant. I'm not versed enough in Skrull lore to have even noticed the neckpieces you were talking about. I definitely want to expand my Skrull collection to incorpoate customs. I have some of my loyal minions busily slaving away over sharp x-acto knives as we speak ;)

Minions??...

They're low point cost figures, like SHIELD Agents, Skrull Warriors and Paramedics.

So now I'm generic cannon fodder??

Anyone who has had thei precious army over-run by hordes of Thugs, Criminals, and Skrull Agents knows the power of the almighty cheap figures :)
yes but because it's a Skrull army, your at the top of the generic cannon fodder food chain....
Hardly generic.
I've got a Skrull Officer I made, using a repainted and slightly reworked Dark Eldar body (from WH40K). The Dark Eldar have those big pointy shoulder pads that mark Skrull officers and high muckamucks in the comics. They have nice zapguns, too. Just pinned and glued a Skrull Warrior head on it, then fastened it securely to the Skrull Warrior's base. Looks great, and still tourney legal.
I am pondering the possibility of cannibalizing a Kingpin base to create a Skrull Commander; with the Kingpin's base, he'd have Leadership... (although he'd lose his Skrull Team ability...)
I do very much like the idea of the Skrull Martyr, though. A Skrull who puts up that kind of fight should be REMEMBERED...

I've been thinking...
There are actually a few mods that can easily make the Skrulls a viable team.
We've already hi-jacked several threads with my mods.
Flying Skrulls on Doombot bases make the Skrulls much more mobile.
Medics: Easy (?) conversion, but no wild card exists, so they will loose the Skrull team ability.
Leadership: Veteran Doombot helps with this, but I'm seriously looking at Exp Taskmaster as a fun and easy conversion that adds much more to the Skrulls. Think of him as a Field Commander. He gives you a click of leadership, but also has good combat skills and gets enhancement later. That extra damage can be instrument for punching thru defensive powers.
Others: The rookie Taskmaster also might see some mods take place. He is a nice close combat fig with an added stealthy/range option.
Now I have to go find an extra Capt America so Zankor can see some action here.
:devious:

Skrulls have the richest history of any cheap HC figure in the Marvel Universe. Mods are as popular as cheap outwit :) If you have any Skrull Mods, post their picture links here!

Was zankor a real skrull
No, I don't think Zankor ever appeared in the comics. Put up a hell of a good fight on the gaming table, though. Earned his name, good and proper.
Y'don't need a digicam. I get pretty good results with a flatbed scanner...
Check the HOMEPAGE link at the bottom of this post to get to my site, then look in the sidebar for HEROCLIX...

According to a site online, Zankor was from "Marvel: The Lost Generation 11".

From here, to be exact...
http://www.ffplaza.com/commcenter/articles/Skrulls.shtml
So, looking thru this list, I find I've missed out on a lot of Skrull stuff since leaving comics.
I've vaguely heard about the Marvel: Lost Generation, but am curious about this "Cadre K" that many of the entries make reference to. Can anyone assist me with a bit of enlightenment??
Man.
I feel sorry for that one Skrull who had the job of preventing an invasion of Poppupians.... that must have been NUTS...

Love your Skrull martyr. I wish we could get together to resurrect the once glorious skrull empire against all comers.

Stevenbdavis, my Skrull army is incomplete without your forces. One day we will join together and defeat the infernal Fantastic Four!
So Super Skrull is based on power from The FF. Power Skrull is based on the X-Men. Has an Avenger Skrull been made?

Tomorrow, even though I'm running a tournament, I'm hoping to field my Skrull Armada to invade New York again. The Skrulls are aching for some genuine New York Pizza and they want to hit the Mets game.

Ive got a comic appearance of Raksor, in the X-men books of all places.
Speaking of X-men and Skrulls, what was the name of that skrull who had several of the X-mens powers?

Wow! Great job! I didn't know there were so many other Skrull enthusiasts out there.
We have a new Skrull up for modding. He took out Nick Fury and lived to tell about it. He's gonna get an eye patch for his mod :)

I had a game vs. my regular tournament attendee who plays all Skrulls yesterday. We had low turn-out so the scheduled even was over quickly and we got in a pick-up game. He had his all Skrull 300pt team with him (Super Skrull, all 3 LEs and then random other Skrulls) and I put together a Mandarin/Hand Ninja team out of my Xplosion dupes (all I had with me). My team ended up:
E Mandarin
E Taskmaster
V Hand Ninja (ranged) X3
E Hand Ninja (HtH) X4
R Paramedic
My basis for the team was that Mandarin hired Taskmaster to help whip his ninja force into shape and brought the paramedic since they had been losing so much recently (unfortunately the team without the medic came to 291... all I had left for ninja dupes was one rookie HtH at 11 points *sigh*).
We played on the DC indoor map and it was a tough fight. The Hydra power rarely came into play and initially my opponent kept forgetting about the Skrull ability. Once we realized that he was forgetting I started waiting for him to roll it before I rolled any attack. I just barely won with Mandarin and a mostly dead HtH ninja left, KOing all of his team. I wasted Taskmaster early on a B/C/F attack to Super Skrull (I hit and had his Invul outwitted, but I rolled a 2 on the B/C/F, and Taskmaster was immediately pummelled by every Skrull who could reach him).
Overall the Stealth of the ninja force paired with the Skrulls' below average dice luck won the day. Vet ranged Hand Ninja is a nice figure! The paramedic helped a bit, mainly healing Mandarin back up from his push damage. Unfortunately there were no incredible feats by Skrulls or I would have offered to make a trophey Skrull for him. All in all it was lots of fun, and I gave him the medic since he hasn't bought any Xplosion and wanted to try one in his team.

Geeez!
Why do you think I chose this nick???
SKRULLS ROCK!!!
I also love the fact that people have hit on the fact that hey don't all have to look exactly alike.
The first figure I ever stripped & re-painted was a generic Skrull who's chin knobs were so gummed up with nasty HC paint that you couldn't see what he was.
The image of table after table of Skrulls each with their own lil "trophy" (like Fury's eyepatch) makes them the badBOYZ of this game ;)
Remember tho: *Female* Skrulls look like supermodels with green skin & the chin knobblies (and we all have Neal Adams to thank for that), and when beating on a character with a Skrull, once you 've hurt them, you aught to call them a "misbegotten son of a mud-worm!" (thank you John Byrne).
As often as not they'll take a beating, but there's always more of them.
Joe
PS: Kree characters would be nice generics in the next expansion, doncha think?

i am making a Nuro as we speak
"Nuro: The field leader of Cadre K, Nuro is extremely confident of his abilities and is without fear of using them in battle. He can link with other people's nervous systems, and control them to suit his own purposes."(taken from http://www.geocities.com/b_vallely/cadrek01. html(minus the space))

BB's Anelle mad inspired me. She'll be joining my Skrull crew as soon as I come across an extra Psylocke.
My crew has grown as well. R Taskmaster is now sporting a skrull head and looks sweet. Several parametics have also joined the squad. My crowning achievement is the discovery that Mystique is not really a mutant...but a Skrull. Yes, I have the repaint to prove it.
Current 300 point Skrull crew:
Superskrull
Raksor
V Skrullture (Vulture base)
V Skrull of doom (Doombot base)
R Skrull Taskmaster
E Mystique-skull
E Paramedic
Now I just have to get pics posted.
