View Full Version : team abilities
what's up guys...
what the hell is up with team abilities???
I played ic then just recently got back in with xplosion...
do the avengers ability allow all avengers a free move (i.e a team of avengers) or just one dude???
do the character(s) taking said extra action gain a action token or is it "free"
can the x-men hide a member in the background and constantly refuel say wolverine with multiple people a turn
acting as health reserves for powerful members..
and while i'm on teams.......
why oh why do people get team abilities as long as they have one member....what the fuc*!!!
this encourages kids to take members who would even hang out to play as part of a team!!!
(oh, let's see, a muntant-hunting sentinal, sabertooth, shield agent and uhhh why not doc strange..) jesus
sorry about the grip but has anyone else out there ever collect comics know what i mean...
while i'm at it... blades and claws are broken... should be 1D3 or something.. wolvie aside, c'mon wolvesbane ripping thor's head off in a couple short turns.... really
do the avengers ability allow all avengers a free move (i.e a team of avengers) or just one dude???Every figure with this team ability can use the 'free' movement of the team ability.
do the character(s) taking said extra action gain a action token or is it "free"The figure's will be assigned an action token, but it does not take away from the alloted actions per turn. So, in a 300 point game with 3 actions, using this team ability will not 'take away' from those 3 actions.
can the x-men hide a member in the background and constantly refuel say wolverine with multiple people a turn
acting as health reserves for powerful members..This team ability can be used by different team members to heal a single commonw team member.... if that's what you are getting at.
This answer?

The Sentinel is arch-enemy to all X-Men and Brotherhood teams to prevent you teaming up the mutant-hunting Sentinel with said mutants.
HeroClix has always been about cross-teaming, even if we didn't have team abilities, you'd see illogical (in comic-book sense) team ups all the time. Team abilities only slightly exasperate the situation. I know on many occasion I've added a cheap Skrull to my team to give IC Daredevil and Spiral a chance at not being targeted.
But I'd still have Spiral in an army with Jean Grey or Mandroid Armor, regardless of the Team abilities.

Um, OK...
"do the avengers ability allow all avengers a free move (i.e a team of avengers) or just one dude???
do the character(s) taking said extra action gain a action token or is it "free""
Avengers team ability allows the fig w/ the ability to move without using an action for your turn. Any fig that moves using this power IS marked with an action token. An Avenger cannot use this team ability to attack.
"can the x-men hide a member in the background and constantly refuel say wolverine with multiple people a turn
acting as health reserves for powerful members.."
Sure. But they could only heal Wolverine one click at a time, and the Fig that takes a click of damage from Wolverine gets an action token. So in a 300 point game, you could possibly heal Wolverine for three clicks on one turn. (barring Leadership.)
"why oh why do people get team abilities as long as they have one member....what the fuc*!!!"
Let me just state that profanity isn't necessary.
I assume that you are referring to Wildcard team abilities, (Spiderman, Minions of Doom.) and the whole "why" of it goes with the character's ability to adapt to the strengths of his teammates. Wildcard figures are very playable and abusable. And fun.
"this encourages kids to take members who would even hang out to play as part of a team!!! (oh, let's see, a muntant-hunting sentinal, sabertooth, shield agent and uhhh why not doc strange..) jesus"
The first sentance makes no sense. I think you are missing a "never" in there somewhere. Anyway, Sentinal and Sabretooth CAN'T be on the same team b/c they are arch- enemies. What's your real gripe, though? That you can build a team of figs who may never fight alongside of each other in the comics?
If you ask me, that's one of the many charms of this game. Heck, it even says so on the side of booster boxes: "Build your dream team." If someone else's "dream team" consists of incorporating strategy, maybe you should develop some strategy as well.

rookie sabertooth is not a member of the brother hood so you could have the sentinel and sabertooth on the same team.
I think the team symbol represents training and not powers. Thats why they can use them without anyone around. There are some that do need another of their member like the Masters or the X-men but thats just becaused their trained that way.
shock man,... what you said makes sense. thanks for the replies guys
i'm leaving now to study "strategy"
yea.....
