View Full Version : All Stars 14 - Under Old Management
Yep, it's back. Time for a new All Stars game. I haven't quite worked out which games will be included in this one (I want to talk with Quebbs about that), but I think I'll start sign ups now and worry about the fine points later on.
So, All Stars is a genre where all the of roles were taken from games of the past. The first game will be HavokandChaos' "Choose Your Own Movie Character V" and the games that immediately succeeded that one. The more players we get, the more roles there are to choose from.

As if you even need to ask.
So, the formula for this is pretty much 2 games for every three people. So, I'll keep a running list of games included that will update as more and more join.

More than any other game, All Stars needs lots of players. Ask Quebbs. The less people you have, the harder it is to balance. 14 is a good start, need at least 10 more for it to work.

I think I played in 4 All Stars games before getting to the ones I had played in the first time. You don't need to have played the first time around. :)
Heck, All Stars are pretty good for new players as the roles are publicly available and easy to research.
Assuming people can actually be bothered to do so. Which most aren't. :p

Or, more specifically, one of them does,.
All it takes is one mafia member to do the work and they all get to reap the benefits. The same cannot be said for the town.
Anyways, with 17 players, I am left with two option.
Try to balance the game, but with an All Stars, that means playing it safe and not really in the spirit of what AS is about.
Or, throw balance out the window and use the interesting roles and possibly have an off-kilter game.
(I guess option C is to hope another 10 people join, and then I could be both balanced and interesting... but that seems unlikely at this point).
Who remembers when All Star games used to have 40 players.

It's been a while since I've played an All Star. After winning the first, I haven't had much luck. But I'll give it another go, as long as you promise there will be no multiple, consecutive nights of silencing involved. Yes, will never forget. :laugh:

Some mods signed up for my game after being asked to submit roles. Asking for roles while leaving signups open could net you some extra players.
Then again, it might not.

I'm not really looking forward to March. March is going to be tough for me, methinks. Based on a couple events looming in my horizon that I am not looking forward to (and will take place in March).

Never heard back from malakim, JoH or Vision in regards to roles. If I don't hear soon, I'll replace all their games with other ones.
Vision never even finished Serial Killers, and that started back in September or October.
And Vision and mal have already submitted. Just waiting on Jack now.
Never heard from Jack. So I am cutting his games. Will replace the games, send more PMs and then we can get this started.
And I apologize to everyone for how long this is taking. I am at the mercy of the mods when i comes to gathering roles.
Just waiting on ABF and VDB now.
finally have all the roles. that was a headache. will start pulling the game together when i get home from my vacation.

With them, and the three new guys, you should have 29 players by my count. Not bad at all. You may even get your 30.
Chi PMed me and asked to drop out. Missing Truffle was an oversight. I'll add her and the other new people.
