The Superbowl kicks off in just under 5 hours. Who you got?

I'm going with Tom Brady getting some revenge for Superbowl 42 and beating the Giants by a touchdown.

If I were a betting man in the beginning of the week I would have gone with the Giants; however, this week has felt real good and my Pats are feeling much better right now!

Go Pats!!!

I'm leaning towards the Giants. Mainly because I don't want to hear Chad Johnson talk trash how he got his championship ring when he didn't even play during the playoffs.

Part of me is cheering Giants - if anything, got a family connection to them (spouse's stepdad was one) - but I darn near idolize Belichick and Kraft (odd to prefer the coach and owner to the team players, I know). Plus a "local kid" - from the area I grew up - is on the Pats.

I think in other years the Giants would probably upset and win. I get the feeling, though, that Brady's eyeing retirement and wants that one last ring and the historical records. There's a certain laser intensity to the team - like they're determined to get their golden boy his prize - and it reminds me a lot of the Broncos right before XXXII when they thought it may be their last chance to get Elway a ring. That's a scary drive to try and defeat.

I am not interested in this Super Bowl. I am truly not interested in the commercials. Last year the commercials were not that great. The commercials for the last time these two were in the Super Bowl were awesome!

Well, that may be a bit much. They certainly had their chances with the right folks in the right areas to make the plays and didn't.

I don't quite know about the Buffalo Bills comparisons though...:ermm:

Madonna's half time show was embarassingly awful. But seeing Brady's sad face made the whole thing worth while.

Really? I am not a Madonna fan at all but, as mentioned earlier, thought it was a pretty good show. Maybe it's just that my expectations were low.

Madonna + LMFAO + whoever that girl was = better than the Black Eyed Peas.

Now granted, that wasn't a hard feat to do but still.....it was perfectly entertaining in a good way. Hell, I liked it better than the Who as well.

Great game. Good backnforth and it's always great to see Bill Belichick scowl. Poor, poor Tom Brady. Always Eli's biyatch.

That's not exactly true but that's what people will say in the annals of history.

I don't want to dump on Madonna but, that was a sixty year old woman singing thirty year old songs. Not my idea of halftime entertainment.

Okay, first off, she's 53. And frankly, she looked pretty good for 53. I don't know many 53 year olds that look that good or can even move like that.

Honestly, compared to the past few years... I would put her at 3rd behind U2 and Prince for "recent good halftime shows".

And Brady needs to grovel before Moynahan and beg her forgiveness. Then, and only then, will he win the Big Game again. :p

Nicki Minaj + Madonna + LAMFAO + Cee Lo Green = AWESOME

Watching Eli get an undeserved victory make's me sick to win like that is a DISGRACE congratulations Eli you won by not sucking FOR ONCE and having key FLUKE plays BAIL YOUR ### OUT of certain defeat. Eli should really be thanking Tom Brady for those two dropped passes and the INJURY TO TOM'S ARM for the Giant's win.

Yeah, whatever. Prince in 2007 was leaps and bounds better. Dude sang and wailed on his guitars. In the rain. And while wearing platform shoes.

This year's halftime show reminded me of The Big Lebowski, only I'm sure the Coens were intentionally looking for some laughs. Not sure what Madonna's excuse was. :cheeky:

Love that safety to kick off the Patriots' time with the ball in the first quarter. Who was Brady supposed to be throwing to?

Beating them once might have been lucky, doing it twice is a pattern. Eli played a great game and deserved to win. The Giants beat the Pats fair and square. You can make all the excuses you want but winners get it done, and losers complain. Did you expect the Giants to say "we'll give you a month to get healthy"? Injuries are part of football and good teams move past them and suck it up. Though really the only comeback anyone needs is SCOREBOARD.

Way to go G-Men!

BigBlueBeast is not just my moniker/user name because Dr. Hank McCoy (The Beast) is my favorite comic book character. It also represents the fact that I've been a N.Y. Giants fan since my grandfather took me to games at 4 years old in East Rutherford N.J. at the Meadowlands. Hence the "BigBlue" which has been a local nickname for the team for many years.

Everything in life is about suttle timing and being in the right place at the right time and frankly the Giants peaked at the right time of the year, much like the Saints did in the 2010 season. You have to give credit where credit is do, and Eli Manning and his receiving corp. played magnificently. I don't think they were the best team in the league this year, but they played the best football when they needed too and that all that matters.

Now is it just me or does anyone else hate Christ Collinsworth? I just can't stand that guy. I'd much rather hear John Madden's bumbling commentary and made up words and phrases then hear Chris's snarkey opinions and biased undertones on everything....

Clearly Tom Brady was secretly replaced by Mister Muggles. :cheeky:

The Giants won, and that's all there is to it. Suck it up and prepare for next year. And maybe have Brady buy Bridget some flowers or something in a groveling gesture so she finally removes her curse.

I enjoyed the half-time show. Frankly, I've always found that #### annoying, but this year's was enjoyable. Still trying to figure out how, after year after year of #####ing about how racy the halftime show is, that they picked Madonna, but whatevs.

And yeah, the Boston media can die in a fire. The #### they're saying about Brady is a cold reminder of how stupid people can get.

I've been saying the same thing for years. Karma is still playing that cold bee-yotch card.

As far as the game itself, being a Pats fan I was obviously disappointed. I thought they had their chances but the Giants played a very good game. And Eli has truly proven that he can play with the best of them. Some of his throws were perfectly placed.
So congratulations to the NY Giants for being the 2012 champs.
