View Full Version : Thawmus' Vanilla Mafia

This is going to be a Vanilla game. What that means is that there will be no theme, no characters, and very few actual roles. Many of you will have a vote to your name, and that's all.

There's going to be a few things about this, though, that will be different:

1. Metagaming has a high chance of getting you killed. Understand that there is always some degree of metagame involved in every game. It's always there. You can't ever completely get rid of it. What I am talking about is things like, "X never lies about his role" or "I always do X in games, you know this." Things like this will get you modkilled. Anything that gives you an unfair advantage over everyone else, will get you removed from the game. So don't use it.

2. Mayor. During the first day phase, there is no lynch vote, there is a Mayor vote instead. Whoever becomes Mayor will have two votes during the next Day phase. After Day 2, they will have to select a new Mayor for Day 3. And so on, and so forth.


There may be some other things I come up with doing in this game, I'll let you know. Target number of players is whatever. I'm making roles after we get a player count for balance purposes, and because I don't want to be begging for non-players.

The date we run this is up in the air. Basically, as soon as I get a green light that a small simple game would be good, I'm going to hit the ignition.

ANYONE can play this game. I am not banning anyone from playing. But my rules are not negotiable.

Questions for Thawmus:

If your rules are not negotiable, are your roles negotiable? What about the night write-ups? Voting tallies? Night actions? Negotiable, maybe?

And what about your tastes in general? Are they negotiable, or just questionable?

Also, can you provide us with a decision flowchart or similar diagram to explain the whole process?

Can all the townies be PGO's except the cop and doctor and then the cop be immune to PGO's? And can the SK be immune to them as well? And how about the mafia only having two Day kills and no night kills? That sounds like it'd be a hoot to play.
