I'm too tempted to play this Daredevil once in a while, but I don't want to stop the Daredevil KO count action!
So I'm henceforth laying claim to this space. :)
Be watching this space next week for the first of my ongoing KO count for the uncommon 021 Daredevil from Hulk! Let's see how he stacks up compared to the Hammer of Thor piece (on similar teams) and the Shadowland version!

Four games tonight!
I ran Marvel Knights in a 3 round, 300 point, Modern Age tournament.
Elektra 80
Daredevil 75
Punisher 65 (Weapon Swap)
Black Widow 60
Globe of Ultimate Knowledge 10
290 points Marvel Knights
Game 1 was against a team of Brainiac 5, Eradicator, and Lucy Lane on the Airport Terminal. Lucy was dropped quickly, but Brainiac 5's constant Outwit and Eradicator's powerful offense against a team devoted to Stealth left me being toast. :( A lackluster start!
ENDING TALLY, Game 1
All Marvel Knights defeated.
Daredevil KOs: None
Total Daredevil KOs so far: 0 in 1 game
Win/loss record: 0-1
Game 2 went much better! I was up against a team of Time Jump Flash and green-suited Doomsday, on Ozymandias' Karnak base. I lost Elektra to Doomsday's poundings, but a return offense saw Daredevil getting final blows on both targets (and doing most of the damage on them, to boot!).
ENDING TALLY, Game 2
Elektra defeated.
Daredevil KOs: Flash, Doomsday
Total Daredevil KOs so far: 2 in 2 games
Win/loss record: 1-1
Game 3 was nearly a blowout on my part, though. Still on Karnak, I was dealing with Lex Luthor, 2 Hope Tayas, Mercy Graves, and Gangbuster. The rush of Charging bricks was too much, even though (like the previous game) Elektra was using the Globe.
ENDING TALLY, Game 3
All Marvel Knights defeated.
Daredevil KOs: None
Total Daredevil KOs so far: 2 in 3 games
Win/loss record: 1-2
After the tournament was over (yay for getting third out of four slots. . . .), I played a friendly, 600 point, Golden Age game against the guy from round 1. I ran the following team.
Luke Cage 98
Black Widow 85
Elektra 80 + Pounce 15
Daredevil 75
Punisher 65 (Weapon Swap)
Tandy Bowen 55
Tyrone Johnson 55
Marc Spector 35
E Black Cat 32
Gamma Bomb 5
Bookcase 0
Computer Terminal 0
I got map selection against the following Legion of Super Heroes:
Supergirl #010 (Superman set)
Star Boy
Earth Man
Brainiac 5
Sun Boy
Invisible Kid
I earned map selection, so with a wild, fun go at the Gamma Bomb, we went to Prison. The bomb was placed almost in the dead center of the map, covering from row 5 to row 21, from end to end of the map's sides.
Most of my team held back around row 4, waiting, while Tyrone ran interference, serving as a preliminary tie up piece. Elektra came in as a second wave, of sorts, to tie up Supergirl and Sun Boy, with Daredevil keeping Outwit lines open and Black Cat doing the same for Probability Control. The other player managed to put 8 clicks of time back on the Gamma Bomb, but when it went, smoking Cloak and Dagger together, it did serious damage to everyone on his team--including Supergirl thanks to a well-timed Outwit of her Impervious. Most of the KOs were landed by a mix of Luke Cage, Punisher, and Black Widow, though Daredevil landed Brainiac 5--payback for the earlier game!
ENDING TALLY, Game 4
Elektra, Tandy Bowen, and Tyrone Johnson defeated.
Daredevil KOs: Brainiac 5
Total Daredevil KOs so far: 3 in 4 games
Win/loss record: 2-2
I'd say this is a fair start for this particular Hornhead. :)

I ran 200 points tonight with a friend since the shop was about to close and since we wanted to play something fast.
We used his maps since mine were too much trouble to get out, but I won map roll.
Punisher 100
Daredevil 75
In Contact with Oracle 20
Gamma Bomb 5
We were playing on the Shadowland Dojo. My opponent was running Joe Fixit with a 15 point Gauntlet (Soul Gem) and 70 point Wolverine for a Fantastic Four theme.
The bomb was placed two squares down from the corner of Daredevil's throne.
Daredevil and Punisher took up residence around the hindering terrain near the bottom of the dojo. Hulk stayed back on the balcony, letting Wolverine run interference while the bomb ticked away. The bomb went off, dealing Hulk 1, and although Wolverine got a 2 damage Blades roll on Daredevil, he was quickly taken down by Punisher and Daredevil working together. By this time, Hulk was in position, but he, too, was beaten into submission. Daredevil landed final blows on both Fan Four members.
ENDING TALLY, Game 5
No Marvel Knights defeated
Daredevil KOs: Wolverine, Joe Fixit
Total Daredevil KOs so far: 5 in 5 games
Win/loss record: 3-2

Hey! Stop monopolizing Daredevil! Kidding
And yes, I did not notice this thread until just now.

I'm not monopolizing Daredevil! There are still plenty of old REV Daredevils you can run. :D
Going to have to make a thread for the yellow-suited Hornhead, too, I guess.

One quick game tonight at 700 points. I ran the BPRD plus this Daredevil with 70 points of In Contact with Oracle and Alicia Masters, Security Guard, and Jarvis. The BPRD were the Hellboy boxed set figures plus LE Lobster Johnson. I was up against a team of various Green Lanterns from the gravity feed and set, with Kyle Rayner from DC75 and Hal from Crisis fronting them. Kyle's Regeneration and the Gauntlet with a Soul Gem kept him going and going and going. We got to where we had 5 minutes before the shop closed, and I called the game, given DD had just been one-shotted by a Blades-wielding Hal.
ENDING TALLY, Game 6
Game conceded due to lack of time.

Tonight, a quick 400 points against a friend who played 400 points of Watchmen Fast Forces against me in two back to back Marvel Knights games: one on my main thread with the Hammer of Thor Daredevil and one here. We were on the Prison during this second game.
Elektra 80
Vet Cloak 75
Daredevil 75
Punisher 65 (Weapon Swap)
Tandy Bowen 55
Marvel Knights ATA 50
400 Marvel Knights
The other player ran the Fast Forces Comedian, Dr. Manhattan, Nite-Owl, and Silk Spectre.
This reminds me of my days of running 250 points of Gotham City figures with 150 points of feats and still blowing people away at 400. These figures are a good selection to run the ATA on: none of them keep Stealth for very long, and a couple of them don't have it at all, and they all benefit very much from having it. Cloak and Elektra bit the dust in the long run, but Daredevil dealt finishing blows on Comedian, Dr. Manhattan, and Silk Spectre.
ENDING TALLY, Game 7
Vet Cloak and Elektra defeated
Daredevil KOs: Comedian, Dr. Manhattan, Silk Spectre
Total Daredevil KOs so far: 8 in 7 games

4 games tonight with Daredevil (75 points) and friends!
The first 3 games were our 400 Modern tournament. We were counting the Galactic Guardians CTD figures as legal with pre-rotation setlists (along with Halo, Gears, and LoTR factored in), so here's what I ran.
Black Widow 85
Elektra 80
Daredevil 75 + Infinity Gauntlet (Soul Gem/Power Gem) 20
Dr. Strange 75
Punisher 65 (Weapon Swap)
400 Marvel Knights
Today had 8 players going, counting me. My first match was on CuriousLurker's Video Maze Pac-Man-themed map. I started at the bottom starting area; my buddy/opponent started at the top. He was running 3 of the new Super Skrull from the GG CTD and 2 Skrull Assassins with a Gauntlet on one of the Super Skrulls. Daredevil smoked a Super Skrull (not the one with the Gauntlet, but a tap from "No, Behind You!" took it down!) and the 2 Assassins, leading the way to a win with no losses! Ending score: 400 to 0.
ENDING TALLY, Game 8
No Marvel Knights defeated
Daredevil KOs: Super Skrull, 2 Skrull Assassins
Total Daredevil KOs so far: 11 in 8 games
Win/loss record: 5-3
The second round in the tournament saw me playing another friend--one of the youngest players at the shop who has a fondness for usually running big stompy teams. Today, he was running the UNSC, consisting of 2 Marines, Master Chief with Dual SMGs, Master Chief on the wall, and Sergeant Johnson. We played on CuriousLurker's Atlantean Throne Room map, with me starting in the throne room itself. This game was a lot closer than the first; Black Widow, Dr. Strange, and Punisher fell through the game, leaving DD and Elektra to finish it off. Ending score: 239 to 225, my favor. Very close!
ENDING TALLY, Game 9
Black Widow, Dr. Strange, and Punisher defeated
Daredevil KOs: Marine
Total Daredevil KOs so far: 12 in 9 games
Win/loss record: 6-3
Game 3 was down to the two players with 2 wins, since there was only one prize up for grabs: a Manhunter Grandmaster LE. My opponent ran Checkmate, starring Deadshot, both Maxwell Lords (with the Gauntlet on the 78 point version), Mademoiselle Marie, and a Checkmate Black Knight. We were on Matt Francella's 2010 "The Docks" map. This was a very hard fought game, with most of the action taking place on the central railroad cars/shipping crates on the map. Daredevil and Black Widow survived, with DD still on top dial and Black Widow about halfway down or so. Daredevil got the KOs on all figures but the 99 point Maxwell Lord.
ENDING TALLY, Game 10
Elektra, Dr. Strange, and Punisher defeated
Daredevil KOs: Deadshot, Maxwell Lord (78 points), Mademoiselle Marie, and Checkmate Black Knight
Total Daredevil KOs so far: 16 in 10 games
Win/loss record: 7-3
I won the tournament and gave the figure to a Lantern Corps fan buddy of mine who hadn't been by the shop in a couple months or so. :)
But wait! There's more! We had 25 minutes for a final game before the shop closed, so another friend and I played on CuriousLurker's "The Nightclub" at 200 points. He ran a Hulkbusters squad of Bruce Banner (002) and AE Hulk, Hulkbuster Squad Leader, Air Strike General Thunderbolt Ross, and Major Glenn Talbot. I ran the following:
Daredevil 75
Punisher 65 (Weapon Swap)
LE Tyrone Johnson 55
Gamma Bomb 5
200 Marvel Knights
Other objects were the Shield Disruptor and a basic Heavy Object.
My Gamma Bomb was positioned just inside the bathrooms, so it reached to a square over past the dancing girl on the map. The Shield Disruptor was 5 squares to the right of the Gamma Bomb (more toward the center of the club). The Heavy was tossed in a random spot near the bottom right of the map.
Daredevil fell to repeated lucky RCE shots from Talbot, so no KOs for him. Punisher, the AE'd Hulk, and ALL of the other Hulkbusters were in the blast radius for the Gamma Bomb on its going off, nuking Frank. This left me with Cloak against a Hulk 2 clicks from KO and a dinged up Talbot.
Cloak pulled it off! :) A lucky few Super Senses rolls and Exploit Weakness finished the Hulk, and then a Poison/Exploit rush on Talbot wrapped it up.
ENDING TALLY, Game 11
Daredevil and Punisher defeated
Daredevil KOs: None
Total Daredevil KOs so far: 16 in 11 games
Win/loss record: 8-3
Overall, a great and awesome night for the Marvel Knights! I've had another buddy challenge me to 400 points of No-Gauntlets Heroes for Hire vs. Marvel Knights on CuriousLurker's "The Dark Alley" map for next Thursday afternoon. I don't know what I'm running yet, but it'll be fun!

Tonight, after the tournament ended and before the shop closed, I played a 400 point matchup of my Marvel Knights against those of a friend. We played on the new SHIELD Helicarrier map from the Avengers starter.
My team:
Elektra 80
Daredevil 75
Dr. Strange 75
Punisher 65 (Weapon Swap)
Tyrone Johnson 55
Marvel Knights ATA 50
My friend ran Vet Iron Fist, Dr. Strange, Elektra, Daredevil (81 point), and Shang-Chi with more feats than one could shake a stick at--a Stunning Blow on Daredevil, a couple of Aliases, and some other stuff.
The game was pretty evenly matched, initially. There was a little back and forth for positions, and then I got off the earliest real hits after having to sacrifice Cloak. We were running short on time eventually, so Daredevil pushed out to KO Elektra, and we finished out the game. I won, taking out all pieces, with Iron Fist falling last.
ENDING TALLY, Game 12
Daredevil, Elektra, and Tyrone Johnson defeated

I got in a 500 point game tonight with a new Clix player who wanted to test out his stuff. We played on the Garden map. I ran the following.
Punisher 100
Elektra 80
Dr. Strange 75
Daredevil 75
Tandy Bowen 55
Tyrone Johnson 55
Marvel Knights ATA 60
500 Marvel Knights
He ran as his pieces rookie Icons Superman, Intergang Underboss, Livewire, Parasite (125 points), Gangbuster, Harvey Bullock, and Lian Harper.
I stayed WAY back on the map except for sending in Elektra up to the top of the map after Livewire. However, I missed an angle that Superman could make off a Running Shot. He moved up, fired--and critically missed on the first attack, dropping him from Running Shot to Charge. That took a big weight off my shoulders, and I proceeded to start working over the team and keeping Supes tied up on occasion with Cloak. A second critical miss with Supes pretty much sealed the Big Blue Boy Scout's fate in the long run.
A win for me. Dr. Strange ended the game on last click, Tyrone was two down from KOed, and Daredevil was top dial. Punisher was still standing mid-dial after a successful Regeneration roll for 4 clicks healed. Elektra and Tandy had been dropped earlier in the game.
ENDING TALLY, Game 13
Elektra and Tandy Bowen defeated
Daredevil KOs: Rookie Icons Superman, Intergang Underboss, Livewire, and Gangbuster

Games 14 and 15 were at a friend's house just now. I was running out of the few Marvel Knights I had on.
Game 14!
Punisher 100 + Automatic Regeneration 12
Daredevil 75 + Alias 3
Dr. Strange 75
Marvel Knights ATA 30
Gamma Bomb 5
vs. GCPD Riot Officer, Lt. Gordon, Lucius Fox, and the 140 point The Batman, in the new Arkham Asylum map from the Dark Knight Rises starter.
The game was a series of back and forths. Strange took down Gordon, the GCPD took out Punisher, the Gamma Bomb smoked Lucius, Strange KOed the GCPD, and Daredevil finished things by KOing The Batman!
ENDING TALLY, Game 14
Punisher defeated
Daredevil KOs: The Batman
Total Daredevil KOs so far: 22 in 14 games
Win/loss record: 11-3
The follow-up game was in the new Bank map from the same starter. I ran the following:
Power Man and Iron Fist 136
Daredevil 75 + Alias 3
Dr. Strange 75
Punisher 65 (Weapon Swap)
Marvel Knights ATA 40
Gamma Bomb 5
My opponent wanted a matchup with a new team. He ran 2 of Joker's Henchman #1, 1 of Joker's Henchman #2, Two-Face (65 points), Joker as Sgt., Bane (100 points), and a Falcone Bodyguard. DD KOed most of the thugs except one of the first Henchmen, Strange took out Two-Face, Joker dropped to a theme team Probability Control push trying to avoid a crit from Daredevil hitting him. . . and Bane took down every single Marvel Knight in sequence. :(
ENDING TALLY, Game 15
All Marvel Knights defeated
Daredevil KOs: Joker's Henchman #1, Joker's Henchman #2, Falcone Bodyguard, and Joker as Sergeant

Game 16 came tonight in a group game, with me being trapped between a Soldier team and the Dark Avengers.
Punisher 100
Black Widow 85
Elektra 80
Daredevil 75
Dr. Strange 75
Tandy Bowen 55
Tyrone Johnson 55
Marvel Knights ATA 70
Gamma Bomb 5
The catch is that I couldn't leave the Okaara temple because the Dark Avengers were established outside within two moves. The bomb blast covered the entire area, dealing considerable damage to the soldier team, KOing Tryone, Black Widow, and Daredevil, and leaving the Dark Avengers unscratched. DD did at least get a good punch off to Bullseye for 2, for what it's worth, but he only managed to KO a Weapon Swap Punisher this game (after MY Punisher had shot the rip-off for 4). A loss, but only by 27 points, due to time being called. Losing one fewer character to the bomb blast would have meant a win!
ENDING TALLY, Game 16
Black Widow, Daredevil, Punisher, and Tyrone Johnson defeated

Game 17 was 200 points at a local coffee shop. I played a newer player who's having fun with some old Indy stuff. We were on two Street Fighter maps put together due to limited space: Chun-Li's street and Ryu's rooftop.
I ran Daredevil (75 points) and Punisher (100 points) with the Marvel Knights ATA on both and Lucky Break on Daredevil.
My opponent ran the REV of The Darkness and a Rookie Death Demon, with 2 Aliases (EV Darkness) and Vampirism on, I think, the Death Demon.
He played smart by blowing up the 3 objects I'd placed out from under me; however, DD and Punisher then relocated, continuing to take Outwit and Ranged Combat Expert shots as necessary. DD pushed onto CCE at one point, and the rest of the game was short. DD got finishing blows on all 4 opponents.
ENDING TALLY, Game 17
No Marvel Knights defeated

Tonight, after 2 300 point games of Invaders vs. Lady Liberators at the European Castle map (record: 1-1), I ran a 200 point Marvel Knights vs. Inhumans.
Punisher 100
Daredevil 75 + Lucky Break 5
Marvel Knights ATA 20
vs. Crystal (105) and Medusa (82) with the Fantastic Four ATA (5 per), again on the European Castle map. I started on the side without the 2 x 2 squares of hindering terrain in the courtyard.
The battle took place on the central elevated area, where Crystal used her ranged Quake powers to knock Punisher off the building not once but twice! At least he got off a good shot or two before being the first KO of the game. Then, Daredevil was able to KO both Crystal and Medusa in back to back assaults--Crystal with Outwit and 2 damage slaps, and Medusa being finished off with a 4 damage CCE attack.
ENDING TALLY, Game 18
Punisher defeated
Daredevil KOs: Crystal and Medusa

I played several games with this Daredevil and his friends tonight at the local comic shop. The night's tournament was 300 points, Golden Age, with Infinity Gauntlets allowed (they're usually not) and colossals disallowed. I went in for a fun game and the 3 rounds of the tournament with the following.
Elektra 80
Daredevil 75 + Infinity Gauntlet 40
Dr. Strange 75
Marvel Knights ATA 30
300 points
The first game of the night was a casual, fun game against a friend who doesn't get to come up much. He ran #203 Nick Fury (70 points), movie Hawkeye (75 points + Infinity Gauntlet 40), Maria Hill (51 points + Contingency Plan 12), and Black Widow (50 points movie version).
As I ended up with map choice, I pulled out the Oan Sciencells. I picked this for two reasons: it forces close quarters fighting moreso than other maps, and I needed the practice on it after having been beaten on it on HCO recently.
It was short and sweet. Daredevil took out Hill, Elektra wasted Black Widow and Hawkeye, and Daredevil finished off Nick Fury. This was a win, with the other player barely damaging my three pieces.
ENDING TALLY, Game 19
No Marvel Knights defeated
Daredevil KOs: Maria Hill and Nick Fury
Total Daredevil KOs so far: 35 in 19 games
Win/loss record: 14-5
Round 1 of the 4-person tournament saw me up against Air Strike General Thunderbolt Ross, Free Comic Book Day War Machine, and Master Chief (106 points with Plasma Pistol and SMG). The other player won map selection, so he put us on the IG 8 Shrine to Death map; I started off at the top of the Shrine.
Things started off a little hesitantly as I studied his pieces' first clicks and cards. Ultimately, I decided to split up the Knights. Strange phased his way to a safe corner, DD TKed Elektra out as far as he could thanks to the Gauntlet, and Elektra then, with Perplexed movement, charged Master Chief on the stairs. Ross successfully launched a nuke at DD by calling in his air strike. Overall, though, Elektra was the MVP: she took down, almost by herself, all three of the other player's pieces. Daredevil could've possibly taken out War Machine at the end, but he was sitting with two tokens, and War Machine could've rolled to break from Elektra had I given him the turn. Thus, he had to go.
ENDING TALLY, Game 20
No Marvel Knights defeated
Daredevil KOs: None
Total Daredevil KOs so far: 35 in 20 games
Win/loss record: 15-5
The second round was against the guy who eventually won the tournament tonight, who ran the new female Ultron (160 points, plus full Gauntlet) with an Iron Man Drone (70) and Ultron Drone (30). I got map choice, so we were on the Airport. While Elektra took out the Ultron Drone, Ultron picked off all 3 Knights in relatively short order.
ENDING TALLY, Game 21
All Marvel Knights defeated
Daredevil KOs: None
Total Daredevil KOs so far: 35 in 21 games
Win/loss record: 15-6
Last came the final round, with me playing a guy who's a generally old school player. Tonight, he ran the Experienced Ultron (139 points) with Not So Special on him, along with 2 60 point Ultron Drones, 1 30 point Ultron Drone, the Alfred Pennyworth bystander, and my 2 loaned out Lian Harpers. He got map selection, and as he enjoys the Garden, we played there.
I felt bad for him. An early game shot to Ultron saw me establishing board control very quickly. Daredevil took down a 60 point drone, Elektra took down the other two, and Daredevil finished off Ultron at the end. He conceded the bystanders rather than force me to chase them around.
ENDING TALLY, Game 22
No Marvel Knights defeated
Daredevil KOs: Ultron Drone (60) and Experienced Ultron (139)
Total Daredevil KOs so far: 37 in 22 games
Win/loss record: 16-6
Overall, a good night's run with the Marvel Knights, but playing the Gauntlet for so long was starting to give me a headache. I swapped out to the Invaders for some 200 points of fun before we called it a night. . . .

One game tonight with this particular Daredevil and company! It was Marvel Knights vs. Thunderbolts at the JSA Museum.
Punisher 100
Elektra 80
Daredevil 75
Dr. Strange 75
Tandy Bowen 55
Tyrone Johnson 55
Marvel Knights 60
vs.
Bullseye 117
Baron Zemo 100
Hawkeye 98
Luke Cage 98
Black Widow 85
The game started out painfully, with Cage and Zemo taking down Tandy and Tyrone fast. Daredevil, who'd been maneuvered into position with an ever-present Dr. Strange, then laid in to Bullseye, taking him down. Zemo took advantage of an injured Elektra, though, as Punisher went on a KOing spree of Cage and then himself as he pushed out trying to sew up some injuries. Daredevil and Strange were thus left to deal with Black Widow, Hawkeye, and Zemo. A successful Flurry assault from DD took down the first two, and then a repositioning with Strange's help (and a bad placement on Zemo's part) saw Matt taking down the purple villain.
ENDING TALLY, Game 23
Punisher, Elektra, Tandy Bowen, and Tyrone Johnson defeated

I played this Daredevil in 3 games today thanks to a friend paying my tournament entry fee since I let him borrow my Scarlet Witch for the tournament.
Once I was informed he'd already paid for me (I got there a bit late), I was in panic mode to build a team fast. The setup was 800 points, 6 figures minimum, with only ATAs and standard objects allowed.
I settled on the City of Heroes and City of Villains rosters, combined with Daredevil (75 points), Elektra (80 points), and Marvel Knights ATA on both. My Positron's flight stand almost snapped, but a quick glue job saw it fixed for now.
Statesman 131
Lord Recluse 122
Manticore 87
Positron 82
Elektra 80 + Marvel Knights ATA 10
Daredevil 75 + Marvel Knights ATA 10
Black Scorpion 72
Ghost Widow 54
Captain Mako 52
As the tourney restrictions today only permitted ATAs and Standard Objects with the figures, I had to stay 25 points underbuilt.
Round 1 of the tournament saw me paired with a friend of mine whom I drove up to town today. He was running the X-Men, consisting of Vet Juggernaut (Fantastic Forces), Bishop (Mutations and Monsters), Storm (86 points), Cyclops (110 points), Binary (not the old unique!), and Colossus/Wolverine duo, with Wolverine (103 points) and Danger Room Colossus (60) on backup.
I can't remember who won the map roll, but I ended up at one end of the SHIELD Helicarrier and he on the other. Sadly, although there were some shining moments for them, the X-Men went down hard. A triple-teaming lit up Juggernaut fast (Lord Recluse smashed him for the finish), Positron took out Cyclops, Elektra finished off Bishop with a surprise Charge/Flurry from a lower elevation, and Daredevil took down the Colossus/Wolverine duo after a failed split/merge. I earned the win, 554 to 301.
ENDING TALLY, Game 24
Manticore, Elektra, Black Scorpion, and Captain Mako defeated
Daredevil KOs: Colossus/Wolverine
Total Daredevil KOs so far: 42 in 24 games
Win/loss record: 18-6
Game 2 was the same team vs. a Justice League lineup, played in the streets of Metropolis with a smashed Daily Planet ball in the way.
Superman (204), Fury (200), Batman (119), Cyborg (100), Wonder Woman (100), and John Constantine (59) were trying to hold back this group of patchwork invaders.
Like the X-Men before them, the Justice League went down hard.
Captain Mako ate Fury for breakfast, almost singlehandedly. Elektra finished off Cyborg after much working for position. Then, shortly after Superman crushed Mako, Daredevil took down Wonder Woman--after managing 3 Super Senses rolls against her and plinking her down with Outwit and 11 attack. :) Points were 406 to 52.
ENDING TALLY, Game 25
Captain Mako defeated
Daredevil KOs: Wonder Woman
Total Daredevil KOs so far: 43 in 25 games
Win/loss record: 19-6
The final match of the day was against the only other player to go 2-0 to that point--an ALMOST Justice League lineup!
Superman 204
Wonder Woman 136
Batman 119
Green Arrow 95
Flash 88
Madame Xanadu 62
The Enchantress 50
Mindwarp 45
This was a much harder fought game on the JSA Museum. It was all about positioning. As far as I could tell, the other player may have had a difficult time assessing the threats around the board. I'm not too sure, there, but he was playing very, very cautiously. Lord Recluse was able to get the finishing smash on Superman, and Captain Mako finished off Mindwarp. Points were 249 to 0, my favor.

3-0 win for a Morgan Le Fay SR!
What made this team work, when there were other teams that scored 1600-1900 points today? I'm not sure, really. The HYDRA team from Elektra proved very beneficial to the paired up Manticore and Positron. Arachnos was the team ability of choice, of course, giving me effectively 7 Mystics to go with DD and Elektra. I simply didn't need to wild card onto Marvel Knights that much, as I knew I needed every chance for damage I could get with the Freedom Phalanx characters. Finally, I was actually making many of my attack rolls, while, especially in the final game, players who needed fives or sixes just weren't making them against mostly Indy-level stats.
And I'd like to think there's something of a good karma sort of vibe here, for playing old favorite figures in honor of the threat the City of Heroes MMO is currently facing to its continued existence. I'm a longtime player of that game (4 years as of the end of this month), and I'm hoping it gets to stay around. There are online petitions asking the game owners to reconsider its impending shutdown, among various news articles and in-game protests. Here's hoping!
See you next time, faithful fans, from this corner of Thugit, Inc.!

I played FOUR games in a row with Daredevil and friends yesterday!
Game 1 of the day saw my usual 200 points of Marvel Knights in action again.
Punisher 100
Daredevil 75
Marvel Knights ATA 20
Gamma Bomb 5
I was playing on Chun-Li's stage from the Street Fighter maps.
My opponent was running Max Fury (with Alias) and 4 Shadow Council Soldiers.
Things went downhill for the Knights fast. One Soldier disarmed the Gamma Bomb, while Fury and another Soldier took up residence on the elevated on the map. Daredevil and Punisher were also mistakenly placed in the wrong area: the objects under them were shot out from below, leaving them wide open for too long. By the end of the game, Daredevil did at least knock out two Soldiers and made a few Senses rolls, but he ended up dropping in the streets of Chinatown.
ENDING TALLY, Game 27
Daredevil and Punisher defeated
Daredevil KOs: 2 Shadow Council Soldiers
Total Daredevil KOs so far: 45 in 27 games
Win/loss record: 20-7
Game 2 cranked things up to 400 points. As I wasn't carrying many of my Marvel Knights with me, I had to make due with what I had: the few who don't fit in my main carrying case with the Power Man/Iron Fist duo in my Avengers box.
Power Man/Iron Fist 136
Daredevil 75 + Lucky Break 5 + Inside Information 4
Dr. Strange 75
Punisher 65 (Weapon Swap)
Marvel Knights ATA 40
My targets this game were a variety of Gothamites, their player being someone reasonably new to Gotham City teams. The player in question won map choice, so we were in the Garden.
Exp Joker 88 (Icons) + Not So Special 3
Red Hood 81
Batman 75 (Out of the Shadows)
Two-Face 60 (Batman Alpha)
Exp Scarecrow (Icons) 45 + Not So Special 3
The Holiday Killer 43
This went a great deal better. Punisher lit up Batman and Crane back to back, while Daredevil worked over Two-Face. Strange managed to take down the Red Hood, and then Daredevil finished off the Joker and Holiday Killer. Power Man/Iron Fist were solid beatsticks leading the way for everyone else, but they never did enough damage at one hit to crush someone flat out.
ENDING TALLY, Game 28
No Marvel Knights defeated
Daredevil KOs: Two-Face, Joker, Holiday Killer
Total Daredevil KOs so far: 48 in 28 games
Win/loss record: 21-7
Game 3 for the night was one thrown together for fun: 100 points!
I, of course, ran Daredevil with a few friends. :)
Daredevil 75 + Lucky Break 5
Ben Urich 4
Foggy Nelson 3
Politician 3
Marvel Knights ATA 10
My objects were the Shield Disruptor, Stepladder, and a normal heavy object.
I was up against the Avengers Initiative 75 point Captain America with the Heroic Age ATA, a Harvey Bullock bystander. . . and the Exhaustion BFC. :o
We were playing on Ken's Docks, from Street Fighter. I love these little maps; they're great for playing a quick game when space is tight.
Objects tied up the middle of the docks. The Politician, Ben Urich, and Foggy all ran interference, setting up a wall of bystanders between Cap, Bullock, and Hornhead. Of course, those three bystanders of mine dropped fast, but by that time, DD was in position for combat. Harvey pushed out trying to deal with Daredevil, and an early hit by DD (combined with Murdock's Outwit) saw to it that Cap was having a much harder time landing rolls than he should have been having. Daredevil didn't get touched or pushed the whole game.
ENDING TALLY, Game 29
Ben Urich, Foggy Nelson, and Politician defeated
Daredevil KOs: Captain America
Total Daredevil KOs so far: 49 in 29 games
Win/loss record: 22-7
The final game for the night was 200 points, against the same player as the last 2. He, however, brought his BIG guns to the table: namely, the new 125 points "I hate resources and relics" Iron Man, along with the same Cap as just before. He ran Exhaustion again.
I was running the same 200 point team I started the night with, swapping in Lucky Break on Daredevil for the Gamma Bomb.
It didn't work. :(
We were back in Chun-Li's Chinatown. While Punisher blew away Cap fast and furious, Iron Man smoked Punisher in reply and, after crippling Daredevil, followed suit against him. I simply wasn't able to land the hits I needed when I needed to.

Back to Marvel Knights tonight now that I have my full Spidey Gravity Feed pack!
Elektra 80
Daredevil 75
Spider-Man 75
Dagger 65
Tyrone Johnson 55
Marvel Knights ATA 50
I went up against 400 points of Almost Gotham City. Speeding Bullets Batman 143, Batman 100 (the 200 point version at half cost), Robin 100, Batgirl 42, Harvey Bullock 12, and Politician 3. I won map roll after 3 tries, and we were on the Farm map. The other player picked the side with most of the hindering, putting me behind the blocking tractor.
We met at the edge of the hindering field on his side. Dagger got the first KO of the Politician, followed by Elektra taking down Batgirl with a series of Flurry attacks. Speeding Bullets took down an interference-running Tyrone with a shot, an assist from Robin that was evaded, and a second hit (but not before Cloak managed to do 4 to Robin with two Poisons and a swing!). Elektra then lit up the Batman and Robin duo that had been merged into successfully in an attempt to save a 5th click Robin from defeat. Spidey took down the Harvey Bullock bystander with a Charge off a picnic table, freeing up Daredevil to Outwit Speeding Bullets' Impervious, tag him for 2 more after having hit him earlier in the game, and then Dagger pushed herself out with a Hail Mary Blades attack for 2, KOing Speeding Bullets.
A win, but no knock outs for Daredevil this time!

A fun game with Daredevil and the Knights today!
I was up on the Fountain of Asgard against the Golden Age JSA Trinity of Batman (80), Superman (120), and Wonder Woman (100). I ran the following:
Daredevil 75
Spider-Man 75
Punisher 65 (Weapon Swap)
Dagger 45
Marvel Knights ATA 40
I quickly positioned atop one of the corner elevated towers, with the JSA team suddenly stuck, puzzled about how to get around the map the long way or get stuck in the water. This is when a watcher reminded the other player about the Bifrost being activated since this wasn't a tournament.
Wonder Woman quickly Hypersoniced in to her doom at Daredevil's hands. She got too close. A couple preliminary slaps saw DD finishing her with a CCE smash for 4. Superman then flattened Spidey for 5, and Daredevil returned the favor of beating down Superman. Batman hauled Punisher in with some vigilante justice, and Dagger mistook the Bat for a funny-looking drug addict, zapping him for the finish. A win!

Today saw a 500 point matchup against the Legion of Monsters at Superman's Farm!
Elektra 80
Daredevil 75
Dr. Strange 75
Dagger 65
Punisher 65 (Weapon Swap)
Marvel Knights ATA 60
Sting 5
vs.
Morbius 133
Living Mummy 92
Werewolf by Night 81
Daimon Hellstrom 66
Frankenstein's Monster 65
Manphibian 60
I started on the side nearest the tractor. Dr. Strange initially flew Daredevil over to Sting, although DD failed to pick it up. While Punisher began mixing it up with an incoming Morbius, Strange and DD switched places, leaving Strange to pick up Bilbo's blade from the ground, eventually to use it to good effect in combat!
Spidey KOed Morbius after Punisher softened the vampire up, Elektra finished plinking away at Hellstrom, taking down the two Mystics on the team. The Mummy then whacked Elektra, and Manphibian ate Dagger. The Mummy was, by this time, on his mid-dial Mind Control clicks, and he then Mind Controlled Spidey to whack his buddy Punisher. Things were looking bad. . . .
Daredevil then smoked the Mummy!
Granted, this didn't stop Frankie from choking Spidey to death. :(
Daredevil took down Manphibian, and Strange hauled him onto a nearby farmhouse, forcing the others to come up the ladder to them. The Werewolf finished off Strange, and Frankenstein's Monster ended up on the roof with Daredevil. The two kept swinging, and Frankenstein regenerated about 5 or 6 clicks, yo-yoing up and down to his first Regeneration click as Daredevil kept Flurrying away. Eventually, though, Frankie smoked DD in one final hit for me a loss.

Game 34 today with the Knights! We played at 600 points. . . which is a bit higher than I usually like to play with them, but it was a fun game overall, even if it was a loss in the long run.
Punisher 83
Elektra 80
Daredevil 75
Dr. Strange 75
Spider-Man 75
Cloak 55
Dagger 45
Exp. Black Cat 32
Marvel Knights ATA 80
vs.
Batman 128 + Contingency Plan 12
Red Robin 100
Nightwing 72 + Running Start 5
Batgirl 71 (Stephanie Brown)
Batwoman 61
Huntress 59
Damian Wayne 50
Alfred Pennyworth 42
Lian Harper 1
I won map selection, and I had a spare copy of the X-Mansion Ruins from Days of Future Past handy, so that's where we went, with the Knights trying to break in from the outside. I set up an early firing squad of DOOM around the doorway, with a combo onslaught of Punisher and Dagger lighting up an exposed Batwoman. Nightwing, though, came outside and smoked Cloak, leading to Strange taking out an interfering Damian in close quarters.
The game went downhill fast from there. Nightwing took out Elektra with some Flurrying of his own, Huntress shot up Black Cat, Stephanie whacked Dagger AND Punisher with her gooparangs (I hate those, by the way), and Huntress lit up Strange.
Spidey then got in a couple whacks: Daredevil had weakened up the Bat enough for Spidey to ice him, and then Spidey took out Huntress. Red Robin finished off an injured Hornhead, and Nightwing took down the remaining clicks of poor Spidey's dial.
A loss, but a fun fought loss.

Tonight saw a brief 300 point game against a buddy who was running the Harley/Joker duo, an experienced Joker Thug, a rookie Joker Thug, and his own Penguin Resource Dial. I had my Penguin from being Judge over the NML events; he had his from being top member of the top gang (Black Mask). I ran the following:
Elektra 80
Daredevil 75
Dr. Strange 75
Black Widow 60
Penguin Resource Dial 10
We were at the Gotham Bank from the Dark Knight movie maps. I started nearer the smashed bus.
Three of the Knights took up residence on three objects in a row 7 squares from my edge of the map; Elektra went for the central row of tables. The other team advanced well enough to the middle, leaving Elektra the chance to Charge/Flurry into the fray and whack the rookie Thug. The "bad Penguin" left the game then, healing the experienced Thug, whom the Widow promptly KOed. Daredevil got the finishing blow on the "Harley Half" of the duo's dial and nearly took out the "Joker half" with a crushing blow for 5 (2 base plus 2 from Penguin plus 1 from Widow's Perplex). The Joker got off a click of Poison before being Force Blasted into the edge of the map by Dr. Strange for the finisher.
I will say that's probably the first time I've ever probbed my own Force Blast. :)
ENDING TALLY, Game 35
Penguin Resource Dial removed
