i live in the aurora area and visited 5 places between monday-sunday all the venues were out, found some on sunday at mall. I was told that demand has increased at a rate faster than they expected and product comes in and is gone within a day or two. the distributors are not filling the orders and allocating and promising to resolve the situation. one venue ordered twenty cases, recieved this in two shipment sold out of both, then ordered another twenty cases and again recieved half and sold out. Imagine how the venues feel knowing that they are losing potential sales even though they ordered properly

That is yet another reason to pool your resources with a friend or two and buy it by the case. It comes to your front door, no hunting, no "Sorry, we sold out."

But then you wouldn't be supporting your local venues.:)

I agree with that, Darius, and you know me, and know how I do support my local venues, I hope you would admit. But a couple things come into play here:

1. Venues that under order the product, and thus sell out too soon.
2. I will still support my local venues with supplemental booster purchases, because I have split 2 cases, and have yet to pull anything close to a full set from a case without having to buy boosters to make up whats missing.

I think it's a win-win.I get my clix fix, in the relative comfort of my own home, kind of a jump start. And when I have to venture out into the spooky real world, my venues get my dollars on subsuequent booster purchases.

Or pool your resources and buy a case on release date from your local retailer.

Why??

Well, I can personally attest that there was a boat-load of Xplosion here in our area. I bought a case from my local retailer (I'm on the same page as you darius_dax1, support your local retailer and they will be good to you, especially on trades to complete sets) and they had a TON of it in. Now I know that the owner opened two cases himself as well and they ended up selling out this Saturday.

The other local retailer got hit hard because:
1. They usually never keep enough stock in the store.
2. They had a 200 point sealed tournament and 14 people showed up the weekend of release week.

The main problem is that there is a lot of hype surrounding this set and I've personally seen many different people buying HC than ever before.

Another contributing factor is the distribution problems, but I think that is hitting smaller places than here.

I heard that some places are saying they only received 8 of their 16 boosters that they ordered. Who only orders 16 boosters?? One of the local stores ordered more cases than these guys did boosters!!

I live in Westmont, IL, so I'm guessing CAP has hit some of the same shops that I have. It seems that there is something else holding up distribution, besides the distributors that is.

On the XPlosion release day, the store supposedly only received 5 boxes, yet had a U Phoenix stuck to the cash register???

Could these places be holding stuff back for sealed box tournaments? I don't get it, I would think that the Chicago market would be flooded. We've had to resort to non-comic stores to find the clix, such as Toys R Us and Game Stop

Just giving you carp, jklass1. I did like DS-00-0, FSD's solution.
