Easter Bunny vs the X-men... Marquee weekend

The Xplosion Marquee weekend is right around the corner. But it also coincides with Easter Weekend.

What wins out in your household? Chocolate bunnies and jelly beans or little addictive pieces of plastic? Maybe you're able to pull both off? (you could use easter jelly beans as counters).

Both, but only because Saturday exists. Is it bad timing? Yes. I'd much rather have had the whole weekend to visit with family and go out of town.

Luckily my wife's brother was going to be coming into town, so traveling became less of an issue. Still makes timing bad because I cannot now use Sunday (or late Saturday) as a time to try to win an LE myself.

Things will work out well for me too. Fri- the Marquee, SAT- My wife and I celebrate our anniversary, and Sunday, we'll get together with family. So it's all good.

I'm running the Marquee at my venue on Friday night, and no one seemed to have a problem with that. I'll probably play in one at another venue on Saturday. I don't think anybody's got one going on Sunday up here.

WE're running ours friday....only problem is it's Good Friday!

At least it's not a holy day of obligation and not at 3pm. We will still get Catholics (like me) to play ;)

You can also use PEZ for action markers. But...just be sure to bring alot extra, cuz every time you pass someone those little buggers are goin' straight down the hatch! :grin:

I don't think wizkids could have picked a worse weekend if they tried. Between traveling and spending time with my family, I will have no time to play in any tournament. I expect turnout to be pretty low everywhere.

Well, I guess I'm lucky. I can compete in 3 and run one AND get sunday for family. It did require taking a day off from work so that I could get a friday afternoon tourney in but the gaming stores/venues are pretty much closed on sunday or had their events scheduled early here.

My folks are visiting me this weekend, and my father is actually going to play in my Marquee on Sunday. :) Now I just have to find a Saturday Marquee to play in myself.

Well, lucky me I am going to try for two Marquee Tourneys on Saturday, celebrate the Death and Ressurection of Christ on Sunday morning at Church, and finally go to one more Marquee Sunday afternoon. Yippee fun and busy weekend for me.

Back on topic, I think jelly beans as counters will be a great incentive. I think you should squish a Peep onto all the clix figures. When you KO that figure you eat the Peep right in front of the opponent.

This will be my first marquee, and it's on saturday, so I'm luckey. I'm also kind of glad it's on that weekend, maybe it will mean a smaller turnout, and with only 2 LE's... I'm hoping it will improve my chances (Even if it's just slightly)

I don't have any kids, so Easter is more or less a non-holiday in my book. Unfortunately, I work at a banquet hotel so I'll be working Easter brunch. The night before we have a huge wedding, so no Saturday marquee for me. So far I've missed every marquee tournament, so I'm pretty bummed.

For some reason I was thinking the local Marquees were on Friday and Sunday, but they're actually Saturday and Sunday....3 of them on Saturday. Gonna try to make 2 Sat and 1 Sun, see if it works..

Well Good Luck to all Playing, As For Me Friday and Saturday I have to work at the Zoos Easter EGGstravaganza! we are thinking 5000 Little kids and thier parents looking for plastic eggs, getting hopped up on sugary candy and running around the zoo. Problem is Wizkids needs a calendar. They scheduled this marquee this weekend. Mage Knight Uprising marque Memorial Day weekend and Mech Warrior Death from Above, Origins weekend. duh! :rolleyes:

It's not that they don't have a calendar, it's just that their tournament organizer (or whatever it is) automatically sets Marque weekend to be 3 weeks after the expansion comes out. What they really need is a better way to organize tourneys.

For me the marquee at the local comic book shop is having their marquee on Monday which is the best time i think because everybody is getting ready for work or school or whatever they do for a liiving. Godd Luck at your marquee everybody!:) :p

Maybe this doesn't effect me that much because I am not Christian, but the only thing that really effects me for this weekend is that my B-day (and accompanying party) is on Saturday.

Orgially there was 2 tournaments scheduled on Friday, 1 on Saturday, and 1 on Sunday. The plan was to hit one a day (luckily the B-day party isn't till at night), but things got rescheduled to 3 on Friday (all at the same time) and 1 on Sunday. I hit one yesterday, got my Kitty Pryde, but I really doubt I will go to the one on Sunday. I am probably going to be too hung over to get to a store by noon.

I can do it all! Had the Easter Egg Hunt this morning, marquee this afternoon (taking my 5 yr old with me) and then church and a big Easter Dinner with about 11 people on Sunday

Ours was on Saterday, but i was really surprised because 10 people came (our average is 4 and the highest we ever had before was 6) So anyway, there where 2 new players and a player who only came once before, then most of the regulars came.

Surprisingly one of the new comers pulled in first place ( and his wife, the other new comer) pulled fellowship.

But the judge around here had an extra IC LE that he gave out as a second fellowship, i would have rather have seen it go to seconed place, but i'm not complaing, sence i got it;

Still i feel bad because the reason i got it was because my friend played that week and voted for me because i was his friend, so i told him not to do it again and kept the LE :p
