View Full Version : Editing posts
Why can't I edit my posts in the general discussions forum? I haven't been able to do so since the format change. If it's still in the works, great. However I would like to know if it's a problem with my account.
Thank you.
It's not a problem with your account. We've had to disable it until we figure out a way to archive comments properly. We recently had an incident where people would make inappropriate comments.. which would set off a "flame war", then go back and erase an proof we would have to remove them. That was obviously a problem. Now that we have more moderators we should be able to get rid of the "problem members".

Well... sometimes I can edit my post. But today I couldn't. I guess it was disabled recently because as far as I can remember I could edit it after the format change and I did it many times. I just hope that you can find a solution because sometimes editing is VERY useful. But I see that it can be a problem...

I was just about to edit my Trade List and found out there's no EDIT button anymore?
Do we have to Start new threads whenever we want to update our lists now??????

I said the day that we lost the ability to Edit that we would soon lose the Edit button too. And now we have.
They want to prevent us from flaming someone, then editing our posts after we've been reported. This happened on the WK Judge's Forum a week or so ago. Nothing like replying to someone's question and realizing after you submit it that you had a typo that gives the completely WRONG answer. Instead of saying, "You cannot do that", you end up saying, "You can do that". Awww... no more Edit, too bad.

I guess they figured that a ton of complete garbage threads is better than single changed posts?
 :cross-eye :disappoin

I do miss the ability to edit, but I see where the HCrealms dudes are coming from.
I suppose us non-mods can help out a bit by stepping up our reporting of rabble-rousers. Quoting can also capture the comments.
Typhon, is there a good way we frequent users can help out, that our beloved edit function might be restored?

Three posts, all because I used a "}" instead of a "]"...
