Does anybody have any info on Hourman?

My friends and I were discussing comics and somebody brought Hourman up and I have no clue who he is. Does anyone think they can fill me in on him?

the golden age one took a pill that gave him super strength and agility for 1 hour. the current one, i have no idea, he;s from the 853rd century, though, and is in thier justice league.

The current Hourman is the son of the orginal, Rex Tyler. He also has the ability to enhance his abilities for an hour but doesn't have to take a miralco pill for it but rather activates his "hour of power" with one of his gauntlets. The other gauntlet allows him to visit his father in a region outside of time/space to ask for advice or what-not but they only have an hour of total time. Therefore everytime Hourman Jr visits Hourman daddy, the clock ticks back a little more until it is finally time for daddy to go on to the great beyond.

He isn't a bad charecter actually.

The android Hourman has retreated into time or some such and really doesn't participate in "current" DC continuity. I forgot to mention that the hour that Hourman shares with his dad (Rex) is actually a gift from the android prior to his departure into the timestream.

I think the andriod merged with the philosopher's stone or something...I dunno. Either way, the current JSA is a great read, I would recommend it to any who like well-crafted stories.

Thanks for all the information. He does sound like a pretty cool character. I really dont read much DC but I may pick up JSA just to see what its like.

BUT, i would like to second JSA's greatness.
also although i really enjoyed the more recent hourman series i think that this "new" hourman is even better and JSA wouldnt be the same without him

i love the JSA, but i really amnt to sure about the new hourman because i much preferred his dad. although he is a definite iimprovemnt over the android "thing"

JSA is one of my favorite titles at the moment.

If you're a fan of Hourman, you might want to get involved in the reading... something is about to happen involving Hourman. Nobody knows for sure at the moment... it's all speculation. All we know is that a couple issues back, Hourman tried to look an hour ahead, and all he saw was blackness. Draw your own conclusions from that.

Rex Tyler had a cool advenure a few years back in Sandman Mystery Theater. I forget the issue numbers for the story arc though.
