i was just wondering who general zod is.
if he is the US general who ent crazy staged a coup and put his head in a super powerful body then was transported to some meteor in space then i think he is awesome.
if thats not you he is could somebody please tell me

the general you are thinking of i have NO clue
zod 1 was killed years ago on an alternate earth
zod 2 we dont know his deal exactly yet othewr than he looks exactly like supes and is the ruler of a nation called pokalistan

The guy you ar thinking of was called "the General" and was old JLA nemesis the Shaggy Man with the brain of bad guy General Eiling, enemy of Captain Atom, and later, of the League. Shaggy was able to create a defense for every power he was attacked, so he could not be defeated two times with the same power.

PRE-CRISIS: Kryptonian military leader, sentenced to the Phantom Zone by Superman's dad. Used to play hell with Superman on occasion, either by escaping the Phantom Zone or by somehow managing to affect things on Earth from inside the Phantom Zone.
POST-CRISIS: Kryptonian military leader, escaped death when Krypton exploded by being in the Phantom Zone, currently ruler of Pokolistan on Earth.
MOVIE: Played by Terence Stamp. Kryptonian military leader who attempted a coup against Krypton's leaders. Failed, and was sentenced to the Phantom Zone along with his two top lieutenants. Accidentally freed by Superman, the three then attempted to conquer Earth; made good headway until outsmarted and defeated by Superman. Currently incarcerated on Earth, without super-powers.

just for all to know, this is the current gen. zods origin as just revealed in action comics:
*****SPOILER*****
there was a russian space station with a young couple of scientists aboard (the wife is pregnant) a strange meteor crashes through, killing and transforming all of the stations inhabitants. The station then crashes back to earth in the USSR, the only survivor being the new born child in some kind of strange alien incubation. The KGB gathers him up and beggins experimenting on the child, seeing what he is, what he can do.(the whole time being lied to that his father is still alive) one day they are experimenting on him and accidently expose him to red rays of the sun, to wich he gains super powers (basically the same as supes). after these powers are developed the child starts training with the KGBeast. after a while he sees footage of supes and hates him but doesnt know why. He then learns that his father never made it back and that his superiors had been lying to him the whole time. He kills all of his superiors, and is then imprisoned. while imprisoned, under slight mental imbalance and heavy sedatives/medication he starts to hallucinate. He meets the ghost of a man that feels what he feels (hate towars supes) and teaches him about kryptons history. This man calls himself Zod and the boy would do the same. the rest as they say is history

I count 3 different post crisis Zods.
1. General Zod of pocket universe, who was basically the same as the pre-crisis and who killed every human being on the earth of the pocket universe.
2. Human red sun powered General Zod, origin explained by metzgarob. Currently dead after ramming into a fully powered Superman and breaking his neck. He made his face a copy of Superman's down to the atomic level and yet somehow his face was still powered by a red sun.
3. Current General Zod. Has been trapped in the phantom zone and seems to come from the reconned origin of Superman birthright.

Hey, there was slim pickings of wardrobe in the Phantom Zone.
Then again, the planet was about to blow up, no one but Jor-el believed it, so the prices at teh local Wal Mart on clothes never went on sale, so Zod was cheap and didn't bother shopping for something to wear for his court appearance.

That Generla was Eling who put himself inside the shaved Shaggy man's body. He also currently appears in the JLU catoon but as a mere human who again wants to destroy the JLAU

With the All-Star Superman coming out soon, and if it takes off, then there is bound to be yet another General Zod. All-Star General Zod.
Now, with that said, someone call the paramedics to Darth's house. He'll need tranq's, lots of them.
and knee-pads, he's got a lot of kneeling to do.

I've not seen it myself, but I have read where there is actually Two Zod's. Sort of.
The guy who played Zod in the Superman movies is on the show as the voice of Jor-El. I think it's just the voice.
But also there are some people who want to free Zod (not the same guy as just mentioned) from the Phantom Zone.
Other then that, I have no clue.
