View Full Version : COSMIC JUSTICE UPDATE - Martian Manhunter!!!!!!!!!
Hey,
I just saw this on Wizard:
COSMIC JUSTICE
"Holy teammates, Batman!" At least that's what we think Robin would say if he saw the roster for June's new DC HeroClix set, Cosmic Justice. Teams, teams and more teams are the theme for this expansion, as fans get members of the Teen Titans, Legion of Super-Heroes and Green Lantern Corps. The Justice League too gets a boost with the addition of such faves as Green Arrow and the Martian Manhunter.
But you say you'd rather have heavy-hitters than Saturn Girl and Cosmic Boy? Worry not. CJ is the Wonder Woman set. She's in, as well as a number of her closest allies and fiercest archfoes - all of them hot chicks - Well as hot as plastic miniatures can be.
And not only do you get the Amazing Amazon, you get a Batboatload of new allies and enemies for the Dark Knight Detective and the Last Son of Krypton, including new versions of each.
Look for the 96-figure set of Cosmic Justice on shelves this month. A 4-figure booster will run you $6.95. For more info, check out (wizkidsgames.com).

hey thanks for the post i haven' t seen that yet kool
The Martian Manhunter better be beefy!
Of course we know he will.
thoughts on powers?
I"m figuring:
Movement: Phasing and Mind Control
Attack: SuperStregnth and Psychic blast
Defense: Imperviousness and Defend (to simulate mindlink)
Damage: Shapeshift and Perplex
and flying of course.
this is just a guess and a shot in the dark.
I don't know about that much in a dial which won't be to long. I'm guessing he'll have at the most 7 clicks of life. As for impervious to defend.... I don't think so. Even if they wanted to be realistic (pretaining to the comics for abilities) it wouldnt be really fair.
Can't we just repaint Vision from 'mostly green' to 'completely green'? :}
So confirmed are:
A Batman (type unknown),The Son of Darkseid Superman,Batgirl,The Penguin,The Cheetah,Fury,Green Arrow,Wonder Woman,Martian Manhuter,Bizarro,Cosmic Boy,Saturn Girl, and Starfire.
If CJ follows the pattern of CT and XP, then there should be 96 figs, with 12 Uniques and 14 REVs of villians and 14 of heroes, with a 60/40 male-female ratio....
So I'd also expect Poison Ivy andTwo-Face (with Penguin and Batgirl, that's a batload)
Black Canary REV and Oracle (U)
Silver Swan REV and Wonder Girl (U)
Luthor REV and Luthor (U)
Superboy and Wondergirl both unique
Zatanna and Oracle uniques
Sentinel REV (GL and JSA)
Brother Blood (ugh)
A male and a female DEO agent
Amazon generic
Team Luthor agent?

If they make the Martian Manhunter anything like the Justice League cartoon version, he'll have one click of Incapacitate with a range of -1 (able to Incapacitate himself) and have 11 clicks of KO.
Serious. Watch the cartoon. My girlfriend and I made it a drinking game, where we have to take a shot whenever MM gets his butt handed to him and taken out of the fight.
Needless to say, after each episode our BAC is in the "illegal to operate a motor vehicle" zone.

Give MM impervious and put him next to, say, Pyro.
Does that sound wrong to anyone else but me? I like the guy but he dosent just have an achilies heal but a whole friggin achilies leg!
They seem to be removing this prob of his in the JLA comics but if it dosent pan out, and the game is kept true as can be to the comics, he needs to have a toughness at most.

I hear ya, cooljerk. MM is a weakling in that show!
Anyway, I think he should be mega powerful, myself. If you read Earth-2, a trade by grant morrison, he takes down mirror superman, flies at mach-10 plus, and crushes an airplane into the size of a soccor ball. I think that qualifies as powerful.........me-heh.

We should take it easy on MM, especially as far as the cartoon goes. For dramatic purposes, they have smack the big guns down pretty regularly or Batman and Hawkgirl would have nothing to do.
To a certain extent, though, that is true for all team comics. Realistically, or as close as we can get in stories about costumed crimefighters, Thor would wipe out all enemies on a regular basis before Cap, Wasp, and Hawkeye, even had a chance to get involved. After a several storylines of that happening, readers would get bored, so the writer either finds some way to pound Thor or lets him take a vacation in Asgard for a while.
Martian Manhunter gets the same treatment, because, if you read his powers, as they are supposed to be, he is easily the toughest character in the JLA.

Martian Manhunter is easily one of my favorite DC characters, right ahead of Green Lantern and behind, of course, Batman.
I really hope he keeps phasing all through his dial, although that wouldnt allow for mind control...Grrr....maybe phasing later.
Impervious definitly, he is just as tough as Supes.
Shapechange , although Perplex or Outwit ala Mystique would be cooler...
Some Psychic Blast and super strength.

Manhunter's my favorite DC character so I'm psyched that he's in this set, but I'm dreading him being a unique. Which means that unless I get really lucky, I won't pull him (I can't afford to buy by the case), and unless he's really crummy I won't be able to trade for him. And I don't want him to be really crummy. I agree with most people's assessments of the powers he should have, which means he won't be a cheap figure. Oh I'd better pull him.
Last thing I need is another unattainable Nightcrawler (my favorite Marvel character.)
I feel your pain Brother!
