What happened at your first tournament?

I ended up in third place, and won a Ben Grimm for fellowship.

I had a really great time even though this one guy cheated which cost me first place. That won't stop me from going back though it still was great!!

I was flogged! I had no idea how to play in a tournament. I had never played a 7 turn only game before. And there was no such thing as a fellowship award then. I learnt quickly though, and won my next tournament.

I won. It was a three-way match, since only 3 players showed up. I won a Wilson Fisk LE.

I got 2nd but I learned in 1 game a lot of the rules I was getting wrong. :laugh: :p ;)

I came and had my butt handed to me. Silly me...I used cyclops and jean greay and Prof X....who knew what a firelord was? Well, I knew afterwards when 3 wasps, 2 firelords, a pyro, and a blizzard made mincemeat of my team (prof X never saw it coming....). I remember that army well because I have done my best to beat the guy who made it every time I play him now. Its been almost a year and I am still bitter...who knew?

Now I am a judge.....who knew?

I won 3 of my 4 games, and was less than 10 points from winning that 4th game too. I took second, and went downhill from there. ;)

first serious tournament i played in was the Xp marquee, and i won it! :grin: the team i won with scr aped in at 293 points and i had 10 figures. yes, my pulls were really bad. most pricey figure was veteran psylocke

First tournament as well as my first game were at GenCon. As a newbie I threw a 2 FL, 1 Wasp and 1 Medic team. Lost first game and won 3 games in a row to finish in a disturbing 9th place. Not bad if you count it was the first time I was playing and there were 44 people. Frustrating b/c 8 people made it to the single-elimination round. Never used FL again.

Technically, I was supposed to finish 3rd but the guy who was going to finish 2nd forgot to mark a couple of KO's o I ended up in 2nd & he was given an extra sportsmanship prize (store gift certificate) while I won a Hydra Operative 128. Still my favorite LE for low point games.

Especially surprised because I played to a 0-0 draw against a guy I should have easily beat but I didn't get some rolls & he claimed it was due to his "lucky Thanos".

I was destroyed by a team with 5 LE's Elektra, Vulture, Kingpin, Elektra, Yellow jacket. and a yellow black panther, I believe. I had a range team with Magneto, yellow black panther, Cyclops and someone else but I remember I lost most of my team by turn two and turns three and four I was using Magneto and Cyclops to block for one another. That was when I learned about LE's and the damage that they can do.

accually rarebreed that team you played against is illegal.. you can't use 2 le's or uniques of the same name even if they're from different sets in sanctioned play.. so only one electra per team be it unique or le.. you can use as many non electras you wat to, but only one of the unique/le's.

Now I know but that was my 1st tournament and I jumped on #### near at the beginning. Now I hold my ground in most tournaments.

My first tourney was a 300 point noone under 75 points mixed. I played U Super Skrull, V Dr. Strange, and V Bane.
I lost one match to a team of V Flash, E Prof. X and U Vision.
But the guy who beat me lost the semi-final round, and I faced a team of Sinestro, Sentinal and Swamp Thing in the final. I ended up winning a Wilson Fisk LE. I wasn't too excited - I couldn't remember the last time I used any Kingpin version. But RavenProject seemed to say that he is actully pretty rare in one of his reviews, so I can't complain.

I played in my first tonight. Only 5 others so it was small and mostly friendly. 2 guys were serious about winning, the other 3 were obviously friends that had played together before. Was fun.

Got throughly beaten, only KOd one figure all night (Vet Beast). Lost all my figs twice. But it helped putting all that stuff I've read into practice. The others were real cool about helping me figure out what to do.

Didn't see a firelord, but the winner had a multi perplex team.

I played in my first tournament at the XP Marquee. Went 1-2 and had a lot more fun then I had playing any game of Mechwarrior. Maybe it had something to do with the dice being more friendly to me and the fact the I was able to knock something out and keep the game close instead of getting completly wasted. 2nd tournament went better with me going 2-1 with a nasty 500 pt army lead by V. Dr. Doom.
