This sounds awesome, I can't wait to get the new maps. The premier edition maps just have too many weird things that don't make sense rules-wise, these maps actually come with a rules sheet so I'm thinking this rules sheet might clear up some map questions of old or at least make these new maps a lot more fun to play than the old ones.

I think this is great news! I assume its 4 double sided maps? Or do you think 2 double sided maps for 4 total? I guess that probably it or they'd say 8 maps since that sounds better.

I didn't even think about 'people' tokens. I assumed they were new object tokens and new rules for them kind of like the 3-D stuff they came out with. Heavy + Incapacitate and stuff like that.

Anyway can't wait to get these. More maps is a great thing! I think it would be cool if they came out with things like the dungeon tiles where you could make your own map by putting them together. Maybe later.

I hope there's a Baxter Building (So I'm a old-style FF fan. So sue me. Four Freedoms Plaza just didn't have the same ring to it.) Complete with a portal to the Negative Zone for Annihilus and Blastaar to pop out of.

The Daily Bugle offices would be another fun setting. Will these all be indoor maps, as they speficy headquarters or will we see some outdoor maps too? Trying to think of a good "outdoor location", though I suppose they could do the grounds of Xavier's as opposed to the interior or something to that effect.

I just hope that the maps do justice to the locations that they are trying to represent. WE all have to admit that the first 6 two sided maps weren't the most brilliant things ever created.

I'm hoping for artistic quality at LEAST equal to that found on the Crimson Skies map, otherwise these will be a HUGE disappointment.

It doesn't disturb me too much if the maps aren't "pretty" They do the job. I would like to see accuracy, though I'm not that big a purist. There have been plenty of floor plans for these settings. Let's hope they match the maps to them.

Will there be a Danger Room? Will there be a Cerebro? I fear that an exterior to the Xavier School for the Gifted is a waste compared to what could be found inside ... but new maps are very welcome!

Intriguing--would definitely allow for an Aunt May token! If this is an idea that has been expressed heavily on this forum, who knows? We've been asking for just these types of maps ... I'm hoping with you.

Actually the bystander mechanic sounds like exactly what we are getting. Token characters that will likely represent civilians from the comics. Since we are getting Avengers/X-men maps, Aunt May and other Spidey related figs might be a streatch. Possibly a Dr McTaggert for the X-men and a Jarvis for the Avengers?

What would be truly cool if you had an X-mansion and avenger mansion on the opposite sides of the SAME map so you could play indoors and out doors at the same time!

The way I interpret the announcement is that it will be two maps. One Avengers Mansion, indoor + outdoor and one Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters, indoor on one side outdoor on the other.

As for the tokens I doubt they will be people or objects. I would say they are special tokens for marking your figures when they have taken an action or are pushed. If you read the rulebook they refer to marking your figures with a token quite a bit and such special tokens have not been made yet.

So with that in mind I seriously doubt Daredevil would make a double incapacitate attack by throwing Jarvis at one Hand Ninja and Aunt May at another.

I'd vote for this, rather than traps or items to be recovered, although the use of poker chips really makes such items superfluous.

At first I was real concerned about the new mechanics. I thought they might be changing taxi rules are something crazy like they. However, my guess is they are making optional rules that apply to new terrain features on the maps.

Anybody ever play Robo Rally. They might have added some cool things like: lasers, security systems, danger room flamers, etc.

I would be suprised if the token were the: POW, BAM BOOM beads for marking actions.

I wish Wiz Kids would clarify what the new mechanics are. But based on the fact that this is an optional set of maps, I can only guess the new game mechanics will only apply to the use of these new maps.

"Game mechanics" could mean anything, but knowing WizKids, I'd suggest it's simply new rules to apply to these given maps.

I'd suspect that at least one of them has to do with elevators, for example, or perhaps using stairs to get from one map to another.

Although I'd love to see a localized Energy Explosion effect if you throw the Toaster Token into the swimming pool, for example...

Call me dreamy, but what if the maps came in easy-assemble 3d maps like those 3-d puzzles (Houses, Farms, etc)
