Hey there Clix fiends!

I’m running events at a venue in Blue Bell, Pa that is hosting HC tournaments twice a month on Wednesday nights.

Infinite Quests (http://www.infinitequests.com)

Click here (http://www.wizkidsgames.com/userdetail.asp?userid=142512) to sign up for tournaments.

Tournaments are *Wednesdays* at 6 pm
*except Marquees, which are on Sundays.

ALSO! Whenever we get 6 or more players, I pony up an additional LE for second place!!

The tournament schedule is:

November 3. 5 x 5! Open.
Build a 500 pt team with at most 5 figures.
3 actions per turn.

November 17. Clash of the Titans!!
Bring *ANY* 7 figures you want.
Really, any. (well, except big figs or Galactus, but besides that, anything goes.)
Brawl to the death with these titans of HeroClix.

Special Rules:
*3 actions per turn (plus leadership and free moves as applicable).
*No dupes of named figures. So you can't play two Supermen (of any kind).
*Bring 8 barrier tokens with you. You will put 8 squares of blocking terrain anywhere you want, on ~your side of the map~. Even on hindering terrain. These are permanent, but otherwise adhere to the rules of Barrier. (ie, they can be destroyed, flown over, etc)
*You only get points for characters KOed, not for surviving.

December 8. Sealed Booster tournament.
Details to be announced as we get closer to the date. Check WK site.

December 19, Mutant Mayhem Marquee!
Every player to attend will get a Marquee exclusive Aunt May pog from WK.
Also, the more players we get, the more prizes I will be putting up for 2nd place, extra fellowship, and more!

December 29. Open Tournament.
Details to be announced as we get closer to the date. Check WK site.

Blue Bell is up 202 North past Norristown, 1 mile North of Germantown pike, and easy to get to from the Blue Route.

Very, very nice. I was wondering if there would ever be a venue to play Heroclix in Blue Bell. Thank God, I thought I was the only one from there.

I'll probably just go to see how it goes down.

You bet I'll be there! Both PerfectDeath and my self have allready signed up. And It sure beats closing my store at 5:30 and fighting traffic to get to Jenkintown or Abington by 6:30.

Clix on, my brothers and sisters! Clix on!

Ha! I work just over a mile from there! Didn't even know it existed as I don't have to go in that direction often.

I've never been to a venue, much less entered a tournament - offhand I couldn't even tell someone what the significance of a "marquee" is in this instance, though between the post and the site I'm guessing that means a sealed box tournament.

Hmmm... I'm considering this.

marquee=
Sealed box tournament that only happens one time for each set. The winners of first and fellowship get a very rare LE figure that is only available at the Marquees (and later on eBay, and also at conventions).

I may as well clear through my questions here!

The official info I've seen (WizKids) seems to leave it up to the venue as to the point build, and consequently the number of boosters involved. Other posts by azs (his excellent Red Yellow Green figure reviews for selecting the best clix from random booster draws) sets it up as a 300 pt build -- is that what I should expect? Would we be constructing this from 2 boosters? 3?

I'm very interested in trying this out and want to get as much straight ahead of time as possible.

(Hmm. System tells me I'm not authorized to edit my post - not simply that the time's expired, but that I'm not allowed. Da noive!)

My above questions are regarding the DC Marquee event, of course. I know the Marvel event is 300 pts.

Also, any pricing info would be appreciated. I didn't see anything specified on their site, and my email to them (just sent Friday afternoon, so I'm probably being impatient) hasn't gotten a reply so far.

The marquee is 3 boosters/ 300 pts.
Boosters are $7 each, though they might just do 3 for $20 to make it easy (that's their decision.)

Hope to meet you there tomorrow!

Added September tournament info.

Also, thanks to everyone who has made this venue a great success! We've gotten fantastic turn out for our first few tournies, and even some players who came out for the very first time.

Blue Bell is north west of Philadelphia. Near the PA turnpike and on Rt 202.
If you live anywhere near Baltimore MD, then Blue Bell is probably a little far for you.

Added November events.

The Oct 9 300 pt Switcheroo was a lot of fun, and I plan to run a game like that again soon.
Thanks to all who came and played.

Concerning the Indy marquee this Sunday at 5:30, this is a sealed box affair, or do I need to bring a team? I aim to come, so I finally signed up over on WizKids' site, but it seems to be ambivalent about whether this is a sealed box or head to head event and suggests contacting someone in the know.

Bottom line: I'm interested in trying it as a sealed box event, but much less so as a pre-constructed head-to-head tourney. I have a few boosters, but as of today my main order still hasn't arrived, so I simply don't have a good enough array to construct a well-planned team.

Heh. Okay, I finally looked farther back up the thread, so I see a sealed booster event confirmed. Good!

Hey Azs, I'm up in Allentown, and I'm thinking of maybe venturing down there sometime before the years's end. Could you PM me directions from the Northeast Extension?

Thanks.

How far is it from NYC? I go to Philly a lot and it usually takes me 2 and a half hours to get to Philly. How far from Philly time wise?

AZS

About 15 - 20 min N.W. of Philly. From the city its just off the Blue Rt, from the north its off the Turnpike.

azs, I have been playing heroclix since the beginning, but only casually with one of my friends. We once went to a tournament and were blown away by some guys who play heroclix in all of their spare time at a comic book/gaming store nearby. This experiance turned us off to the idea of going to tournaments. I was wondering if I was to go to a tournament at infinite quests would I again be destroyed? Also, I am not updated on all the new rules so I wouldn't know exactly what I was doing. Basically, going into a tounament with no experiance, would I still be able to have a chance at beating anyone?

Thanks a lot and I hope to see you at one of these tournaments,

M.O.S.

MoS, thanks for the interest.

"Basically, going into a tounament with no experiance, would I still be able to have a chance at beating anyone?"

Not really. :ermm: If you go into any competition unprepared you're bound to get beaten.

And yeah, there are some very skilled players at this venue.
However, if you want to get into the game a little more and branch out and get better, the only way to do that is to get out and play.
The people here are very friendly and very knowledgeable. Yeah they'll probably beat you, but they'll tell you what mistakes you make and actively help you improve your strategy.

I will also be available to play you in a side game if you would like, and perhaps get you up to speed a bit. You are also welcome to come hang out and watch the games, to get a feel for how things work.

Thank you for the info azs, I am planning to come to the marquee Sunday. I have few Unleashed figures so I will still be able to add to my collection when I lose. Hope to be there,
