I see no reason why we can't have multiple members with the same name. Leads to larger interest in the clan letting members into the clan.

But that's just my take.

And yeah, it sucks that they are canceling Hawkeye, but it is somehow part of the whole Avengers reboot thing.

Cquinn, I like that idea, I don't see why more people can't have the same name. I think anyone can have any name.

Hawkeye was pretty good, I would have liked to see more issues than what they're going to make.

Glad to see renewed interest in the thread. There were some really lean times when there were only three or four of us posting on it.

Now remember guys, there is only ONE hard and fast rule about the Avengers clan. You MUST have the Avengers icon to be a member of the clan. If you are a member of multiple clans (which is disloyal if you ask me ;) ), you must make a choice. Where does your loyalty lie?

BTW, let's congratulate ourselves. No many posts make it to 1000. Of course, it took almost a year to do it.

Anybody else a little confused about the last issue?
Did it seem a bit rushed?
Is it my imagination, or did Tony go the whole issue without armor?
Are they putting up the kids in the Mansion?
Why the heck would they do that?
You can't tell me Tony doesn't have a lot of other places he could put them. Thank goodness there is going to be a major shake up in a few issues, because the status quo is really starting to bite. :(

Hey Avengers, how's everything? I'm sure we all saw the stats, sneak peaks, and Boneyards list. So my question is, how do you guys like it? I love the Captain America they gave us, but a little dissappointed about Ghost Rider.

What u talkin bout' willis? G-Rider is fudging awesome! At his last click, he has 7 speed with L/C, the easiest way to go to a medic. He is the coolest sculpt i've ever seen!

Well, I do agree with you, the GR figure is awsome. No doubt about that. But, I was kinda hoping for some psychic blast for the eye thing he does...unless that's Johnny Blaze I'm thinking of.

Okay, I just read the latest Avengers.

It had me going for awhile. Characters acting like themselves, decent art, nice scene with the statues of the Fallen Avengers (I was able to ID all of them, although I'm not 100% certain who is next to Mockingbird, probably Wondy in the old costume?), and good set up of the Avengers/Invaders conflict.

I was thinking, finally, the A-team is back on track.

Until Clint planted one on Janet.

Um, I don't remember Clint EVER expressing an interest in the winsome Wasp. This is SO out of left field. Did he just decide to drop Moonstone? SHEESH!

BTW, trivia buffs, which Fallen Avenger was left out of the graveyard scene?

Also, when did Dr. Druid kick the bucket? I was sure they brought him back at the very end of the Solo Avengers series (with hair even).

Shellhead, I wish I could answer some of your trivia, but I haven't had a chance to pick up the new issue. Along with Shelleads' post, how do you think the Cap, Thor, and Iron Man series will be now that Bendis kicked everyone out and put in a new crew? I think they look pretty good and I'm looking foward to it.

Aso, I'm glad this is one of the clan threads right from the start that didn't get the boot.:grin: :grin:

well for me i havent posted in a while (like maybe 3 months?) but i still wanna keep this thread alive and i thnk we can all keep it alive if that's what everyone's looking to do.

So i read like a page or two back that Hawkeye is being canceled? What's up with that? i really liked it i thought it was really funny and this is a major dissapointment that they are canceling it.

well it's good to be back and i hope the avengers clan can keep this thread goin. AVENGERS ASSEMBLE!!!

Been away a loooong time, but here goes:
Anybody else using U Thor and U Iron Man bases with the classic figs to upgrade their Avengers theme teams?
They give a great clix theme team some extra punch, even though they don't have the Avengers TA.

Also, had a game recently using some of my Avengers MODS as part of the team and cleaned house!
My team included a MOD Tigra (Cheetah re-paint on a E Black Cat base) a MOD Wonder Man (V Doc Samson repaint) and a MOD Dr. Druid (awesome MOD using bits and pieces from Mandarin, Rasputin, and other stuff on a E Selene base) plus E Hercules, a Iron Man fig on a Dmitri Bukharin (LE Crimson Dynamo) base and I think some others.
It was a lot of fun and a VERY different look for an Avengers team.
Obviously not a true Avengers team, not one with the Avengers TA, but it had the look, feel and offensive power that gave it a realistic representation of the comics. More importantly, it was a lot of fun!
Anybody doing anything similar?

I've found that Vet Captain Britain is pretty much Wonder Man. I have a cool mod of him and the dial fits him to a tee. Give it a try and you'll see.

Just checked out Vet Capt Britain and you're right. He's just about perfect for Wonder Man!
My Wonder Man MOD based on Vet Doc Samson was done way before Ultimates came out, and one of the reasons I chose him was for the Perplex, a power lacking on a true Avengers team. For the same reason my MOD of Black Knight is on a Vet Psylocke base (with a Bron fig plus a cool repaint) - this gives me the option of having Enhance as well as BCF on my Avengers.
But now that you mention the Capt Britain he would also make a good base for my MOD Sub-Mariner, which is a flyer.
And by the way, thanks again for our recent trade!

hmmmmm so far we got vision antman and jack of hearts, i think maybe hank pym, maybe hawkeye only because they canceled his series do i think they will kill him. But if they do kill hawkeye i'll be mad angry, but if they kill pym i wont really care.

I'm betting Pym or Wasp. Kill off one of the founders. That would be HUGE in terms of the universe, but not huge in terms of popularity or sales. A perfect solution as far as Marvel is concerned. We will see more die, that's for sure.

Have any of you guys seen the new avengers team? If not, you might not want to read the below posts.

OK, The new line up-Captain America-Steve Rogers, Iron Man-Who knows, it might not be Tony Stark, Spider-Man-Peter Parker, Wolverine-Logan, Spider-Woman, and the Sentry. So the only Avenger to last stand on the team-CAPTAIN AMERICA. That's bad. Cap is my favorite superhero, but in the Avengers...it's not all him. That's why there is a Captain America title. I don't think the team is all that bad, but I do like the older teams. And it WILL be ashame to see some Avengers we know and like to kick the bucket. If someone like Diamondback dies...ok, not so bad, not a big team player. But Hawkeye or Wasp or Tony...let's just hope that one Avengers writer down the line decides to bring the victims of Disassembled back.

Now, What do you guys think of the New Avengers?

I've been reading Avengers for over 40 years - yes, I'm that old!
Bought Avengers #2 for 12 cents at a little family owned stationery store on Main Street in Hackettstown, N.J. in 1963.
Since then there have been a lot of changes. I thought they had ruined Avengers forever several years ago when they tried to attract new readers with a lame attempt to go back to re-invent the Avengers (and a few other titles) by removing them wholesale from regular continuity and "starting over" at #1 again. I almost stopped buying the book. I DID STOP READING IT!
Apparently some genius is now going to once again trample over a great title, using a tired "gimmick" - let's kill everybody off!!! That'll be creative!!!
I wonder if these guys are even fans of the titles they try to "improve" and end up taking down the tubes.
I may actually stop buying the title after over 40 years. If the people entrusted with a legendary book aren't up to the task, I don't think I can stand to watch them butcher a great title.
Wolverine????? Just to bump up sales?

I don't have a big problem except for the inclusion of Wolverine. The guy's on like three teams already! I also wish they were using the original Spider-man Avenger (Julia from the WAC) instead of Jessica Drew. Ah well.

BTW, it is Tony in the suit, so there will be two original members of the team there. I also think having Spider-man on the team is a good idea. Spidey's been a loner forever, and it might be interesting to see how he does on a team for awhile. Sentry? WTF? Sigh.

So drop Wolverine (who just doesn't fit) and I'm a fairly happy camper. Meanwhile, I'm trying to keep an open mind. The latest issue was a bit better. There was more character development in that issue than I've seen in the past six issues alone.

Well, it is good to see Tony's in the armor, otherwise it would be just like after the 4th issue of the first run of Avengers when Cap stayed, everyone left, and they brought in Scarlet Withc, Quicksilver, and Hawkeye.

Still, good to see Cap isn't the only rememberal(couldn't tell you if that was a real word if my live depended on it :P) Avenger in there.
