I like Watchmen more because it's whatreal life is like.

Watchmen. Rorschach is quite possible the single greatest comic character ever created. Just a normal guy that EVERYONE fears, much like Batman. It's just got so much going for it (DK loses first place mostly because of Frank Miller's artwork. His storytelling is superb, but his artwork is pretty ####py all around), and many real life issues to deal with, like rape, prejudice, and the like. Best comic ever in my book.

Close. Very close. Both have great writing and great art. But i would give it to watchmen for a few reasons.

1. It is able to flesh out so many characters and still tell a story in such a short amount of time. In just twelve issues, Alan Moore created a very complex universe.

2. End of 11 is the best moment ever in comics.

3. The detail put into it. YOu can read the book dozens of times (i know someone who did) and notice different little things each time.

Watchmen, mostly because the artwork is distracting in Dark Knight Returns and Robin is too kitchy.

Well...my preference is Watchmen, but they're both dope.

Watchmen all the way! Moore did more (no pun intended) in twelve issues than many writers do over the course of an entire series. The extras, such as the newspaper articles in the back of each issue, gave so much flavor and heart to the world he had created. Characters like Dr. Manhattan, Ozymandius, and Rorschach, who were only seen for a total of twelve issues, will be remembered by fans for years to come.

[note: moved to Another Realm: DC Comics]

I have to go with Watchmen on this one.

Watchmen, although DK is great too, and has a far more satisfying conclusion.

Watchmen tries to do and be far more, and mostly succeeds, but it's flawed by its ending, unfortunately. DK is more consistent, but also more modest in it's aims.

It hardly ever gets mentioned in the same breath, but Electra: Assassin is also awesome the same way DK is.

Love Watchmen. Hate DKR. My Frank Miller of choice is Ronin.

Watchmen is the superior construction, but DK gives a man we have know for years, and so has a stronger emotional impact. I liked DK2 better than the first one. I did read it all at once though, so I wasn't torqued by the wait for the last issue.

As for Rorschack. Go read The Question (which dusts both of these mini-series) and find out how superior the original character is.

Watchmen. Definitely.
