Is it true that Batman Ally team members can't be targeted for close combat or Ranged actions while they're standing in Hindering Terrain, but can turn the power off during their turn and just fire when they want?
That's ridiculously powerful if I'm reading that right...

Yeah...reading wrong.
They cannot be targetted at range by anyone...except Superman team members. :)
Partially, yes. They cannot be targetted by ranged combat actions and powers that require line of sight such as Outwit, Probability Control, Pulse Wave, ranged Mind Control, etc.
They can be targeted by close combat actions. It's the same as the Stealth power that was introduced in Infinity Challenge and migrated to DC in Cosmic Justice.

It's just like stealth, only in a team ability, so they never loose it and it can be copied by wildcards. Thats it.

Pulse wave can affect those in stealth or have the Batman Ally Team Ability. it affects no one in particular, just everyone surrounding the charachter. so, like it or not, charachters in stealth are forced to be the target of the attack, it also affects impervious for the same reason. and energy explosion works the same way, you cant make batman allies the main target, but they can be affected by splash damage. this also affects impervious because impervious only stops attacks where they are the main target only. so splash and pulse wave damage can affect them both.

Whoever told you that lied to you. Read Pulsewave's description. It draws a LOF, and is affected by terrain as normal. So stealthed characters are still stealthed and can not be hit by pulsewave. However, the figure behind a stealthed figure can be hit.
