These figures have impressed me, unlike the previous figures previewed. The LE Boon figure has my attention though, I might just have to order a couple for myself.

Hey Darkness doesnt have Guns or BCF!

That Darkness figure looks pretty nice. That Boon looks like more same old, same old. L/C, BCF. Right. Same goes for Tiger Lily. I wonder what Judge Death has though.
This one does sound useful, if it's AV and DV are good.

Wow, i am so impressed by the 'massive' amounts posts in this thread. Indyclix will rule the world. By the way, am i the only one that has noticed none of the seem to cost over 80 points. I guess in indyclix on a 300 point team, no one fights alone.(get it INDYclix - alone). hah hahaha i kill me.

hmm. as much as i don't want to buy anything indyclixwise, i can feel it tugging on my wallet already. sighhh. hellboy and the judges are enough to do it for me.

FINALLY! An Indyclix that grabs my attention! I read the free comic book day of Way of the Rat, and really enjoyed it. I look forward to getting Boon, as he is one that I was looking forward to-perhaps more than any other and he sounds useful. :knockedou:

The Darkness sounds intruiging-anyone have any background on this character, that they could share?

Boon looks decent, I hope the real one is similar so I don't have to buy the magazine.
There aren't any characters released with blades and leapclimb yet besides panther and maybe cheetah. What are you talking about?

What I told all of you many times before:
Less people know this figs, but Wizkidz doesn't want to sell less, so they make HeavyHitters for low points with high effectivity and nice sculpts, so they sell....
I will buy my case!!!:devious:

Tiger Lily, Judge Death and Boon.
Wow, three indyclix I am excited about! I'm only excited about Boon because of his stats, but Deatha nd Tiger Lily look awesome!
Now I'm a little more psyched, probably going to be casing it... The Boon fig looks pretty darn useful with the team ability. Plus I really like the way the katana and wagasachi are made. The chick with the uzi's looks cool ---> for modding a Punisher! off with her hands! hehe

That this figure looks like 90% of the other figs in Indyclix. I wasn't referring to the specific combo of powers. Although Ian Nottingham is supposed to have the same for less points. Of course he doesn't have the Super Senses to go with it apparently. Plus L/C most probably isn't full dial for Ian, even on Vet. And with Shi and Kabuki out there as well I wouldn't be surprised to see that specific combo a few more times in this set.

Look for the Noh Agents to be some of the deadliest clix next to Judge Death. I for one can't wait to team them up with Silver Samurai, Taskmaster, and my million bazillion ninjas.
That would be a wakazashi.....

I will say the sculpts in this set have all been top notch! I'm a big fan of Way of the Rat (optioned recently for a movie deal) . Also, Boon will not be taking up one of the slots for Uniques in this set. My only real complaint, why is he holding Japanese style swords instead of Chinese ones. Some would say I'm being a little nit-picky, but they are two separate and distinct cultures. 4 more figures that I didn't see at Comic-Con. With the UK/US only figures and the mail-away LEs, this set will be bigger in size than Hypertime!

WHOO HOO! (Does raging midget happy-dance)
Oh, sorry. Didn't know anybody was watching.
Anyway...ahem...Darkness is cool.
Somebody requested a bit of a background. I'm not a "from day one die hard fan," but here's the average joe rundown:
This guy used to be your basic hitman assassin for the mob type guy. Fast women, fast cars, etc. He turns 21 and gets the family "gift". Basically he can create anything he wants out of thin air-demons, weapons, his uber-cool armor. One catch, it has to be in the dark. If the light hits his creations, they turn to dust. One other little tidbit-no sex. If he concieves a son, he dies as his gift is passed on to the son. Bummer
Basically he still gets jerked around by the mob by them holding various people he holds dear hostage, or playing on his vengances. A good story if you like the bad-guy trying to be semi-good thing.

Do my ears decieve me or is Shin-Goji finally warming up a little to IndyClix? Isn't that one of the signs of the coming apocalypse when he uses something besides his dreaded Sentinals?
Anyway, I have a question. Whatever happened with the sned-away witcbalde that everyone was talking about awhile ago? I never saw any information come out about it, and now we have Boon instead? I'm not complaining as I love the CrossGen Universe, but am curious if I missed something?

I don't know.....some of these look interesting.
I'll give it a try.....and that Wizard send away offer sounds durn groovy.
I won't buy a case but I buy quite a few boosters.:)

Nice!
I'm thinking about getting two.

08/08/2003, 12:49
I always said I was in to IndyClix for two and only two reasons: Judge Dredd and Kabuki. Boon just looks like a good well rounded figure, I have no personal attachment to him like I do with Judge Death. Judge Death better be the be-all end-all click of all time.

Judge Death looks awesome! I'm not the biggest Darkness fan, but I won't complain if I pull him - he looks really cool. These previews have me a bit more psyched. The sculpts look pretty bodacious. Did anyone else notice that Boon's TA is the same as Mystics? Can't complain about more figs to round out a team ability.
More! More clix! Muppet clix, Monkey clix, who cares? Bring 'em all on! *Looks in wallet - moth flies out*
Anyone interested in trading clix for my soul?

You know you can't afford a SockClix, much less an IndyClix :)
If they're going to keep releasing promos in Inquest, I may even consider subscribing..
I've got to say, that's 4 out of 5 figures in this preview that make me want Indy badly. The Darkness is just a neat character and is most likely different than the rest of this set. Tiger Lilly just sounds cool and looks great. Judge Death, well, he's Judge frickin' Death! Great sculpt, hopefully equally as great stats. I'm also very interested in the Boon LE. I've got the TPB of the first Way of the Rat story arc and it's one of the better, if not the best crossgen comic out there. There's a talking baboon! This Boon may very well make Ian Nottingham all that less apealing since he seems to have the same abilities and thensome, most likely with better stats to boot. Can't wait to get some of 'em.
I just realized – this may well be the first mail-away LE who’s really playable in a 300-point game. Superman’s too expensive due to his Leadership, GL is kinda playable, but his team ability and defensive abilities don’t work well together (GL TA is all about having clusters of figs around you... Clusters attracted Energy Explosion... GA has a low defense score and Impervious... do the math), and Berzerker Wolvie’s AV is too low to really find much use. Boon’s got a nice price tag on him that makes him affordable, and his defensive abilities (Supersenses and Mystic) are pretty nice.

darkness is a top cow comic of course :p, but his powers only disappear in sunlight!!! not any sort of light, otherwise it would be a pretty hard read... his main arch-enemies are the Angelus, i think he did away with them... the magdeline (forgot spelling...) and somewhat, the witchblade, Angelus/witchblade/darkness are all from the same creation/creator, so they have somewhat a struggle for power when they come close w/ each other.
the thing about jackie's "sex" thing is that once he has sex, he'll die, then the mom dies upon concieving too, but until then, the mother has the protection of the darkness. oh yeah, jackie can have "sex", but he has to create his own "girl" to have sex with, so far he hasnt shown that ability of total control like that.
with the abilities that jackie has, im not sure how they are gonna represent it in a dial, im sure, stealth for sure. maybe bcf due to his ability to create tentacles, i expect this piece to have a deep dial and cost a lot... hopefully that is.
funny how the dials shown dont have any markings... blank ones just to show figs?
Are both the Scrye and the Inquest which are offering LEs for August or September? Or are they different months per magazine?

Wow, these sculpts look great, and while I haven't read Way of the Rat, I've heard nothing but good stuff about it. So I'll be checking out as well as grabbing the Boon LE.
Sigh. This set looks boring and repetitive. Unlike others, I was kinda excited about IndyClix, but I'm officially not now.
I guess I'm looking at the featured figs the same way I'm looking at their comics.

well since I have next to no idea who any of these characters are, I will have to base my purchasing on the stats. And Boon seems like the first character I would get based on that. Also, Judge Death looks good and has a cool name, so I might pick him up too.
I know this has been brought up before, but does anyone know how much of the set with be BCF people? Because it sounds like at least half the figures will have the ability.

Well back when Overpower was out high Fighting power stats ran amok... I went through the lists once & well over 25% of all the sets is Fighting 6-8. More 8 fightings than other eights as well... But there were a lot of Wolverines & such.
I think the Avengers set was going to even it out, but the DC sets sure were Fighting Intelect heavy.
As for Hero clix especialy Indy clix (because of higher violence & lots of swords in many of them) BCF is a catch all. Perplex is also heavy in a lot of ways... on the other hand we don't have as much Battle Fury as we could... & thats a good thing.

You might see cover shots of Punny with uzis, but as a weapons master, he knows better than to use them very often in combat. They're spray weapons with no range. I see him sticking to a 50. Desert Eagle or a Colt AR-15.
To mod a punisher, simply take the SHIELD dude holding two guns, give him a proper paint job (For God's sake, modders, stop using shiny paints) and put him on an experienced Bullseye base.
Nuff said.

I must say, I was very impressed with the sculpts/paints of all the figures featured there. If only the rest of the set looks that good. The poor job on the Arwyn figure from last week's preview had me worried. Now, I'm not so worried...
Even if they don't all look as fantastic as these, just having the option to play CrossGen and Kabuki characters might finally convince my wife to play HeroClix! :)

Does Inquest get everything wrong with the same frequency as Wizard magazine? The Tiger Lilly character description was only vaguely correct. While it has been a while since I read all of my Kabuki comics, I'm about 95% sure there were no Agents of the Noh named Oni and Dove. Did I forget something, or are the Inquest writers just making up whatever nonsense comes into their heads? Also, they greatly misstated the mission of the Agents of the Noh. They are not dedicated crimefighters, they are ultra-secret black ops agents whose purpose is to maintain a balance between coporate, government, and Yakuza power in a cyberpunk version of urban Japan. Sometimes they kill criminals. Other times, it would be in the interest of their mission to help them. I suppose the dedicated crimefighter sounds better for a game meant to attract kids, as well as us adult comic geeks.
