Ok, this time, I got my fav. tough guy, Pete Wisdom! I first found out about ol' Petey in the London's Burning Storyline from Excalibur, and I was instantly hooked, and bought up every issue I could. (if you want good reading I suggest the London's Burning storyline) So, enough talking, here are the dials, I hope you enjoy em'!

Damage Powers
Range Combat Expert

Explanation: He's your average RangeCombatter but for cheep, you get EE, Toughness and RCE on all versions, and as a twist on his Vet version he gets a click of a running shot.

The EE and RCE show him using a.) his pistols, or b.) the hot knives that shoot outta his fingertips, Pete is also tough, but not so much as to be Invulnerable, so I gave him Toughness to show he can get back up and keep on runnin after being hit. and the running shot was a fun feature that I added in that seems to match him quite well, His Exp. version has the X-men TA to show when he was w/ Excalibur.

Hope ya like Pete, I personally (Not to sound like an @$$) think this is among my best work right next to Cassandra Cain (http://www.hcrealms.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=57785)

I'm just surprised that there is another Excalibur fan out here. I was beginning to think I was the only one!

I always thought of Pete Wisdom as a cross of Gambit and John Constantine so I never took him seriously enough to put him in click form. But anyone who can take a punch from Colossus and live to tell the tale shoud get at least one click of toughness.

Very true, I'm impressed with your knowledge of Excalibur, I originally picked up an issue of Excalibur because of NC being my fav. and instantly was hooked on Pete, I beleive I have that specific issue where collosus punches Pete.

My fav. comic book happens to be when Excalibur raids Black Air headquarters. thats were I first saw the hot knives and how much of a BadA$$ he could be.

I'm an old school fan of Kurt. I've liked him since before I ever thought about picking up a comic book. The first time I saw him was on the Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends cartoon (dating myself). I just remembered seeing him and thinking "Man, how could some one who looks like a demon be a good guy?". I was hooked from then on. I have the whole run of Excalibur so you shouldn't be surprised (i was even there for the horrible cross time capers that took three years longer than actually planned). Kurt is the man (good thing I stopped reading before the whole Kurt as a priest debacle!). Late.

Ah, your a friend of mine, I have the first episode on tape with Kurt in Spidey & Friends! I even read into the whole priest thing, and loved it!

I just watched a friend of mine's cats for him last weekend so I got to catch up a bit. The new story going through Uncanny seems like it could be good. Nothing like an army of blue fuzzy elves to get your heart pumping!

Being a huge Excalibur fan myself (I've got every issue), I would have to say that issues 42-50 were some of the best comics I have EVER read. I mean granted, there were some seemingly awful storylines in the first 40 issues, but the return of Alan Davis (my favorite penciler) in issue 42 began an intricate storyline that wrapped the first 41 issues up flawlessly. And some darn fine art too!
As for Heroclix, how about someone making up some stats for those new characters introduced in that story? Guys like Kylun, Feron, Cerise, and Micromax would be interesting for sure. Maybe even a Widget. Or the Technet. Or...well I guess you can tell I'm a fan...

By the way, Nightcrawler is my favorite character too. In the comics, in Heroclix form, in the movie, and action figures too! You guys ever read Nightcrawler's continuing adventures in Universe X? (I'm not going to give anything away if you haven't...)

Ah, I'd love to make some new Excalibur Clix, as soon as I'm done working on there dials, I'll start a thread.

Woah, budpalmer, just saw you in Pirate thread claimin to be a ninja? Anywho, I'm workin on the Excalibur Clix as we speak, I even developed a new team power which I'll post as soon as I can.

BudPalmer

Yeah I just like taking the winning side in that thread. I really have no care for Ninjas, Pirates, Martians, or even Space Monkeys. Strippers are OK though. Please bring on more Excalubur clix (the team ability is a pipe-dream though because they'll just be grouped with the X-Men like Kitty, Kurt, Wolfsbane and Colossus have been already).

Nightcrawler87
08/21/2003, 23:03
Yeah, but its nice to dream, and if your goin with the winnig side, why not join the pirates, as for the clix, Meggan and Kylun are in the works, just a bit longer...

BudPalmer, thought I should run the dials by another Excalibur fan, you got an email I can send the dials to?
If not, I may be able to PM em to you, though I never used them, up to you...

Someone will hang me out to dry for this, but Pete wisdom probably shouldn't have Toughness. Him taking a Colossus punch was a combination of a half hearted dazed swipe by Piotr and pure freakin' luck! Granted, I'd just as soon Pete had lost his head and most of his torso in that exchange, because as any friend of mine could tell you, I hates me some Pete Wisdom. :P

That being said, I guess you could give him a few clicks of something else to reflect his ability to dodge/avoid damage (SS or E/SD). In a pinch, I guess Toughness would work, especially since my only purpose for having this figure would be to replay that classic sequence with far uglier results. :devious:

Then I'll change all his KOs to 'Die!' :devious:

But I would like to see some more Excalibur folks. I'd even be willin gto suffer through a certain someone if they made more. ;)

Lookin' for another Excalibur fan? Well you found one, or I found you. Anyway, Ex. is definately my favorite comic of all time! I stopped reading comics along time ago and though I know about Pete Wisdom I don't KNOW the character. I do know his powers, toughness doesn't make much sense. His only power are "hot knives" made of plasma. I actually have lists of all of the teams powers and relative scale of physical and mental traits ie stats. Senses would be perfect.

I'm going to make Ex. and Technet for myself for fun.
I do have an idea for Meggan, tell me what you think:

1)The first click would be some normal powers with shapeshift.

2)The next click would have a complete theme i.e. BCF'er or "brick", manueverability, her elemental powers, electrical powers, etc.

3)The third click would be the second but with shapeshift again.

4)The next would now be a different "theme".

5)repeat till ko'd
note: the "them essentially lasts two clicks the appropriate power replaced by shapeshift on the second.
Kinda like a Dr.Strange. You could even do a "Godzilla" section :p
Phoenix whom i've got the power list for would definately have alot of different powers. it's a long list.
Little known fact:Phoenix has regeneration!
Great to find other Excalibur fans!

Great job, buddy!

A nice, tough, energy exploder WITH RCE? Excellent!!

BudPalmer

Phoenix doesn't have regeneration so much as she has good enough control of her tk to mentally keep her wounds closed (remember when Wolvie stabbed her?).

Litz

No, thats one of the Phoenix Forces powers:
Rachel Summers:
TK
-forcefields
-flight
Telepathy
-mental invisibilty
-mental bolts
-mental detection

Phoenix Force (full potential not attained: Current powers listed):
-flame aura
-Absorbtion (all energy types)
-elemental conversion (change matter into other matter)
-flight
-forcefield
-gateway (any wher in the universe)
-kinetic bolt
-self sustenance
-TK
-regeneration
-weather control

I'm not saying I don't believe you but where did you get this list of powers?

Litz
09/11/2003, 14:52
The old Marvel Super Heroes RPG by TSR. Which based it's powers on research of the uses in the comics, and creator interviews. Also those really old character bio things(sorry) that Marvel used to put out in issue format.

Nightcrawler87: What about giving the rookie either the S.H.I.E.L.D. team or even the Hydra team to represent his time with Black Air? Both are stretches, but would work, IMO.

Litz: Don't forget Rachel's time travelling abilities. On her own, she could project her astral self through time. With the Phoenix Force, she could time travel.

As for Meggan, she's a tough one. B/C/F and Toughness fit well, but I think Perplex fits better than Shape Change. I agree that a rainbow dial is somewhat appropriate, but looking over old Excaliburs, B/C/F, Toughness, Willpower, Super Strength, Energy Explosion, Pulse Wave, Perplex, and Incapacitate would seem to be the best choices. Yeah she is a shapeshifter, but the Shape Change power doesn't really fit... Meggan tended to use her shapeshifting to turn into her wolf form for battle rather than for avoiding attacks. You've got a good start though!

Litz
09/11/2003, 14:58
Yeah Shapeshift only works in name only. I figured perplex would work better in practice.
