Here it is folks. With the success of Sha's Stories #1, here is #2. It has no continuity to the first one, so don't expect to see Batman reminiscing on the first story (not giving any spoilers on it, check it out!). I'll try to keep up my 1 post per day, but with school starting next week I may have to slow down the pace depending on my workload. Enjoy!

"Heads up, coming through!" the Flash called as he ran at incredible speeds through the hallways of the Watchtower, carrying a pile of tools.

"Here ya go," he said to Martian Manhunter, stopping to hand him the tools, then rushing back to bring more supplies to the rest of the team.

In the blink of an eye, he was now at Batman's side, handing him tools as well. But instead of rushing off in a scarlet blur, he casually bent down to look at what Batman was doing.

"Got any idea of what went through here yet?" Flash asked Batman.

"Not yet," Batman said, not turning to face Flash as he continued his work repairing the computer he was supposed to fix. "Who, or what, ever it was wasn't very clever or sneaky in breaking in, so that rules out a good deal of our usual suspects. Nothing was taken either. Very strange....."

Flash sped away back to the supply room. He came by Wonder Woman, dropping off some tools, then going back and getting some tools that he then dropped by Plastic Man, then ran back in just a single second. This time he raced by Superman, but stopped in the same manor he did for Batman.

"Well our Dark Knight detective seems stumped," he said, watching Superman mend the metal wall with his heat vision. "Got any insight on the situation?"

"I'll leave the detective work to Batman," Superman replied. "He'll find who our mystery attacker is soon enough. Now that you've delivered all the tools, I think it's time you get to work on the repairs yourself Flash."

"But Green Lantern needs some tools first," Flash said, getting ready to speed off again.

"I think Green Lantern can make his own tools, can't he?" Superman said, raising his eyebrows and grinning at Flash.

"Oh....right," Flash muttered, blushing. "I'll...I'll get right to work then...."

After one hour of work, the Watchtower had been repaired to full strength. The members were about to part their ways and leave, but J'onn, who was staying anyways for his turn at the after hours protection, called them all back.

"Look," he said, pointing to one of the screens in the computer room that monitored on almost every security camera and news report on earth. It showed Metropolis, but not at it's usual splendid beauty. Buildings were burning, as others were already destroyed fully. People were running around, screaming while dodging falling debris. Superman stared at the horrible chaos, then narrowed his eyes.

"Looks like were working still," Superman said, preparing to take flight. "Our little mystery man might finally show himself."

As Superman flew toward Earth, Wonder Woman, Martian Manhunter and Green Lantern followed. GL formed a bubble to carry Batman, Flash and Plastic Man behind him. The giant orb that was planet Earth grew nearer.

They soon landed in the city of Metropolis and looked around. It looked even worse in person. They activated their communicators and split up to cover more ground. Time to do even more repairing.

The JLA quickly started repairing whatever had been damaged and saved as many people as they could. Green Lantern gathered huge amounts of rubble using a tool his ring had made and disposed of it in outer space. Flash ran around, grabbing people who were in danger and taking them away to a safe place. Manhunter phased into closed in spaces to grab more civilians.

Meanwhile, Batman had disappeared to investigate. No one bothered looking for him, knowing that if any of them would find the enemy, it would be him.

Superman soared above the city, using his x-ray vision to find any more people in trouble. But what he was looking for more was the person who had done all this. He looked in the Daily Planet, but just saw some wrecked furniture and people getting out of hiding. He flew through the cities boundaries, but found nothing. Disappointed, he landed back on the ground to help some of the officials repair the damage.

Roughly one hour later, Metropolis was almost back to it's usual awe. The JLA rejoined and looked around at the renewed city.

"Found anything?" Green Lantern asked the others.

"Nothing," Superman said, looking at the rest of the team, who all shook their heads. He sighed. Looks like this villain's identity was still a mystery to them.

Soon, they all began parting ways. But before they could take flight or run off into the distance, Superman stopped them.

"Wait," he said, looking around. "Where's Batman?"

The entire team stopped and looked around for the Dark Knight Detective. None of them saw even a trace of him. Just then, Superman heard something on his com. Listening to it now, he realized who it was. Batman.

"Where are you?" Superman said into the com. "Have you found anything?"

"Weren't you listening?" Batman replied, a bit impatiently. "I just told you I haven't found who did all this?"

"Then where are you?" Superman asked again.

"Listen," Batman said, lowering his voice. "I did find something that might interest you."

"Yeah?" Superman asked. He grew more interested by this. "What is it?"

"Clark," Batman whispered. He had not directed his com to the rest of the team. "Lois has been kidnapped."

Superman froze for a moment. The rest of the team all stared at him. Batman was saying something else to him, but he wasn't listening. Lois kidnapped? he thought. I doubt this is a random kidnapping.Whoever is behind this knows me well.....

"Uhhhh, did I miss something?" Flash asked blankly, breaking the silence. "Who was that? What's going on?"

"That was Batman," Superman said. "Someone's been kidnapped."

"Well where's Bats?" Plastic Man asked.

"He said he's coming," Superman answered, turning off the com. "I'm going to look for the hostage. Stay here and wait for Batman. I'll keep you all informed."

Before anyone could say anything, Superman left in a red and blue flash. Now where could this guy go? he thought as he zoomed around Metropolis. Seeing nothing, he flew off into the nearby country and forests. Using his x-ray vision to look through the canopy of the trees. Nothing but animals were in the ground. Disappointed at his findings, he flew back to Metropolis.

He couldn't have gotten too far, Superman thought. Unless he was incredibly fast...but he'll have to reveal himself soon if he expects to get anything out of kidnapping Lois.

Suddenly, a jolt of pain ran through Superman's face as he was thrown back into one of the newly repaired buildings. Pulling himself out of the rubble, he shook his head. Looking around for his attacker, he heard a voice in the air.

"Goodbye Superman," it said.

Superman looked up and saw Bizarro hovering above him, holding a screaming Lois Lane in one arm.

"Superman to JLA," Superman said into his com."I've found our villain. Follow my call and meet me as soon as possible. I think I'll need some back up on this one..."

"Bizarro," Superman said, looking back up at him. "Put Lois down now."

"Yes," Bizarro said stupidly. "Lois yours. Lois is hostage. Bizarro capture Lois so Superman would come and find Bizarro."

Superman thought for a moment of what Bizarro had said when the JLA arrived at his side. Bizarro stared blankly at them all then made a big grin.

"Your enemies all here Superman?" he asked.

"So you were the one who attacked the Watchtower?" Batman asked, interrupting Superman. "What are you after?"

Bizarro just stared at Batman, as though he had not heard the question. What could Bizarro possibly want from the JLA? Batman thought. Bizarro is not exactly a criminal mastermind. Maybe he's just a pawn in a larger plan.....

"Me have to get something you had Mr. Birdperson," Bizarro answered after a few seconds had passed. "Me got it too."

Lois had tired out from screaming for help by now and just slumped in Bizarro's arm. Bizarro smiled proudly while the rest of the JLA looked at each other with raised eyebrows.

"Who is this guy?" Flash whispered to Superman. "He sounds pretty, well...########."

"He may be stupid and odd, but he's very powerful," Superman answered. "Don't underestimate him."

"Surrrrrre....." Flash muttered, looking at Bizarro.

"So what did you get Bizarro?" Batman asked.

"That Bizarro's secret," he answered. "But Bizarro does have something to hide from you....."

Bizarro absent mindedly dropped Lois and turned around. Superman flew as fast as he could and caught her right before she hit the ground. He whispered to Lois to get as far away from here as possible, let her down on the ground and then flew back to see what Bizarro was doing now.

The JLA watched as Bizarro did an odd whistle. They all stared at him as nothing happened. But suddenly, 6 blurs flew from what seemed like out of nowhere and hovered around Bizarro. Bizarro just turned around and widened his grin.

"JLA," Bizarro announced, putting his arms out. "Meet Bizarro's JLA, the ALJ!"

The JLA all stared at the new figures that had appeared by Bizarro. Looking over them, they realized who they were: Bizarro copies of each of them. All had opposite colors and gray, cracked skin. And all had the same big stupid grin that Bizarro always had.

"What's going on here?" Batman asked Superman. They all turned to look at him, but Superman just kept glaring at Bizarro. "I thought he was the only replica of you."

"I don't understand this as much as you," Superman replied. "I expect we'll find out soon enough."

"This is stupid," Batman spat. He pulled a unmistakable green rock out of one of the pouches of his utility belt. The whole team exchanged worried looks. Why did Batman carry around kryptonite? Batman ignored them and leaped over in front of Bizarro and held out the kryptonite. "If he is a copy, he'll have your weakness too."

"No!" Superman yelled, trying to stop Batman. But Batman shrugged him off and shoved the kryptonite in front of Bizarro. "Don't! You don't understand!"

Bizarro grinned as the kryptonite glowed. He flexed his muscles and cracked his knuckles. Batman put the kryptonite closer to him, but still no negative effect. Bizarro raised his face as Batman moved backward.

"Hello, Birdman!" Bizarro yelled as he threw his punch. The speed it was going would have caused Batman's face to explode. Batman began to dodge, but he was too slow. He grimaced, waiting for the inevitable pain, if not death. But he didn't feel anything. Looking up, he saw Superman grabbing Bizarro's fist. Batman could see his face twisted with the effort of holding Bizarro's fist back. The rest of the JLA and ALJ watched as the two exchanged glaring looks and struggled against each other.

"Bizarro....is....number....1!" Bizarro cried, throwing Superman away. Without looking back at Batman, he soared after the fallen man of steel, preparing for another attack. The rest of the ALJ took the hint and charged the JLA.

The JLA all countered, making sure to stay together to help each other out against these stronger, faster and unpredictable versions of themselves. Flash zoomed into the distance with his clone not far behind him. Martian Manhunter phased into a building. His clone followed, which he predicted, and immediately smashed him right out threw the wall with a chair in the room. Green Lantern's ring was useless against his clones yellow costume and ring, so Wonder Woman quickly smashed the Green Lantern out of the way, while Wonder Woman's clone charged Green Lantern, who countered this and wrapped her in a giant cage. Plastic Man tried to hide, but failed and was hit into a nearby park. Batman ran into the shadows, but his clone was not fooled by any of his mind games.

"Bizarro, what are you doing?" Superman yelled at him, blocking as many attacks as he could. "What is the point of all this? Why?"

"Bizarro need answer Superman," Bizarro grunted. "Bizarro is very stupid. Bizarro have small plan."

Batman reached the top of the building, which overlooked the entire battle. Flash was now nowhere to be seen. Wonder Woman was beating the Green Lantern copy, who seemed very unexperienced with his ring. The Martian Manhunter copy had broken the Wonder Woman clone free, and both were now charging Green Lantern. GL created a forcefield around himself, but that would not last long. J'onn came up behind the two replicas and phased through their minds. This stunned them and they fell from the incredible height, landing in a giant crater below. Superman and Bizarro were both in their own private fight. Plastic Man was nowhere to be seen.

Batman felt a sharp, painful jolt in his back. He fell off of the building, heading straight for the ground. He began taking out his batgrapple, but it was too late. But right when he was about to land in a bloody splatter on the pavement, he somehow turned and went straight up again. Turning around, he saw his copy carrying him from the back. Bizarro's such an idiot, he must have thought that I could fly, Batman thought as he struggled to break free. Great. Now this copy is even more powerful then me. Now if kryptonite strenghthens Bizarro, what is my weakness, and it's opposite?

He felt the wind in his face as he soared higher. Suddenly, the Bizarro Batman's grip loostened. Batman fell onto the hard building top, landing on his right shoulder, which snapped on the impact. Cursing, he turned around and through baterangs at the flying copy. The baterangs pierced him, but he just stooped into a dive, straight at Batman. Batman dodged that attack and ran into the shadows, heading down the stairs. The wall in front of him broke, and Martian Manhunter flew through, with the Wonder Woman clone chasing him down. Batman kept moving down, always looking out the windows he passed to view the fights.

I'll have to try something to get us out of here, he thought as he raced to level ground. We need to regroup. Find some weaknesses in these guys. But how can we escape them....

As Batman leaped down another set of stairs, he felt a familiar strong jolt on his back. The wall smashed against his face and he fell through it. But this time, he began to fall to the ground. Before he slipped into unconsciousness, Batman saw Green Lantern fall to the ground, as Wonder Woman followed him soon after.

Superman looked around at his fallen teammates as he struggled against Bizarro. Wonder Woman and Green Lantern were on the ground, bloody and unconscious. Batman had been caught by J'onn in the nick of time, and was lying in some bushes in the park. Plastic Man was tied to a tree. Flash had come back, and had left his clone behind in the dust. Now only Superman, Martian Manhunter and Flash were left fighting against Bizarro and the rest of his team, minus the Flash clone.

The odds were definitely not in their favor, even with many of the clones badly injured. J'onn was holding the Wonder Woman clone back while Flash dodged Green Lantern's blasts, at the same time running around Plastic Man, tying him in a knot. Superman knocked Bizarro off him, sending him flying threw several buildings. Only having a few seconds before Bizarro came back, Superman knew he had to act quickly.

Taking to the air, Superman rammed the Wonder Woman out of Martian Manhunter's way and into the sky. Turning around, he hit Green Lantern in the back with a heat ray, burning a whole in the back of his costume. He looked down and saw the Plastic Man copy tangled in his own limbs. Before he could do anything else, Superman felt his back freeze. Whirling around, he felt the cold blast against his face. Clenching his teeth, he opened his eyes just enough to see J'onn tackle Bizarro to the ground.

Wonder Woman had returned and brought down her fists upon Superman's turned back. He could feel the ice that had formed on him shatter. He whirled around, letting loose a flurry of punches, but Wonder Woman seemed to block them all. Another jolt of pain struck Superman from behind, this time from Green Lantern. The blast pierced Superman deep, and though he struggled against it, it was too much. The man of steel had fallen.

Flash, unable to get to the enemies in the sky, whirled by Bizarro who was on the ground, pinned by Martian Manhunter. Flash attacked Bizarro with a hundred punches per second, all going at light speed. Bizarro bled, but before Flash could do much more, Green Lantern had caged the scarlet speedster in one of his rings creations.

J'onn pounded the weakened Bizarro into the ground. Then without missing a beat, flew back up to confront Wonder Woman and Green Lantern. The two quickly overpowered him, and the last hope for the JLA fell to the ground.

Bizarro crawled out of the rubble he had been buried beneath. Looking around at all the fallen JLA, he grinned. He walked over to Flash, who was still caged up.

"Why have you killed him?" Bizarro asked the copies of Wonder Woman and Green Lantern. Flash stared, then decoded what Bizarro had said in his head. Starting to panic a little, he tried more and more sonic booms against his prison, but none of them even phased the bars.

"We think we let him go," they replied. "Maybe we get him to not tell us anything."

Flashes head was hurting from the backward talk. Looking around for something to take his mind off of it, something in the shadows of the park caught his eye. He tried to concentrate on it, but still could not realize what exactly it was. He turned back around to see Bizarro staring at him, his face right in front of his own.

"Back off creepy," Flash spat at him. "And go get some breath mints. Or stuff to make your breath smell, right?"

"Slow man is quiet," Bizarro chuckled. "Slow man should talk more. Slow man is now Bizarro's prisoner!"

Flash felt a jolt of pain. The cell he was encased in had let out an electric shock. He grimaced at the three clones and fell silent. The three kept talking, but Flash was not listening now. He looked down at his feet. It was better then trying to figure out what they were talking about.

Suddenly, Flash jumped in shock. His feet had started to dissolve. Looking at the rest of his body he saw the same effect occuring. He whirled around, but the three copies were still talking about who knows what. He turned back around and saw Martian Manhunter's body also dissolving on the ground. Before he could do anything, he had disappeared.

When he could see again, Flash recognized the inside of the JLA Watchtower. Staring, he saw the bodies of all the fallen teammates littering the floor. But there was one other person who was not on the ground.

"What did you do Batman?" Flash asked when he saw him. "That was you, wasn't it?"

"Yes," he replied, putting what looked like a miniature remote control into his utility belt. "I had taken the time to put a teleporter device into your costumes. When I use this control, I can have one of you or all of you together be transported to certain locations I've set up in a matter of seconds. I hadn't tested it before, so I guess it works."

"Wait," Flash said, a bit suspiciously. "You put devices into our costumes?"

Batman just grinned. "Take these guys to the medical room. We'll talk when they regain consciousness."

An hour or so later, the team had finally all recovered from most of their injuries. They had gathered at the JLA meeting table to discuss this new problem.

"So," Green Lantern began. "What we've got here are some weird Bizarro clones of us that can also wipe the floor with us. How exactly are they more powerful then us to begin with?"

"It makes sense," Martian Manhunter answered. "Their mindless beings. Not bright at all. This makes them very uncanny and dangerous. They do not hold back at all. Also, if they were indeed created scientifically, they may have been created with improvements, like the Batman clone's flight ability."

"And then how do we stop them?" Flash asked.

"They have to have some weakness," Batman said, more to himself then the others. "It'll take some work to find out. We have to find out how they were created first. Bizarro doesn't seem to have the brains or much motive to create them. I think there is more to this then meets the eye."

"And how are we supposed to find this information out?" Wonder Woman said. "We can't exactly go up and ask Bizarro, and with his intelligence he might know just about as much as us."

"No one is perfect," Batman muttered. "Bizarro, or whoever else, had to have dropped some clues somewhere. We'll have to do some searching."

"But do we have all that time?" Plastic Man chimed in. "If this guy really is after something, he won't just sit around and wait for us to make a move. Especially if he has the power to beat the c.rap out of us."

"I have an idea," Superman said. The entire team turned to look at him. He had been silent the whole meeting. "Flash, Green Lantern, Wonder Woman, J'onn, and Plastic Man. Try to find where the ALJ are currently at. See what their up to and if their endangering civilians. Keep them busy. Batman and I will try to find some of those clues."

The JLA were a bit puzzled by this, but didn't ask questions. The team filed out and began heading back toward earth, leaving Batman and Superman still at the table. They began leaving, Batman heading toward the transport and Superman following him to fly to earth.

"So boy scout," Batman asked as he climbed in to the transport. "Where exactly are we going?"

"Not where," Superman answered. "Who."

"Who?" Batman replied, raising his eyebrows. "So then who are we paying a visit to?"

"I think we should have a talk with the good President of the United States." Superman said as he flew off, Batman following him close behind. "Luthor might have some info we could use."

The Watchtower transport landed on the lawn in stealth on the lawn of the Whitehouse. Superman swooped down and picked Batman up as he got out. Together, they flew up to the window of the oval office. Batman rapped on the window with his fist. A few minutes later, Lex Luthor came up and opened the window.

"What the hell do you think your doing here?" he said icily out of the corner of his mouth. Ten or so bodyguards barged in the room, pointing their guns at the two men hovering outside the window.

"Put your guns down men, and leave." Luthor commanded.

"But sir, are you sure?" one of them asked hesitantly as he stared at the men outside the window.

"I am positive," Luthor hissed. "Now leave."

The men obeyed and closed the door behind them. Luthor then turned to Superman and Batman. Batman leaped down onto solid ground and wandered around the room.

"Have you heard of Bizarro's attack on Metropolis?" Superman questioned.

"I'm the president, you big blue buffoon," Luthor said with satisfaction wavering in his voice. "What do you think?" Before Superman could open his mouth again, Luthor seemed to read his mind. "And you think I was behind that? Listen Superman. I have much more important matters to attend to then using some moron to destroy you. I've moved up to new levels."

Superman glared at Luthor. He could tell somehow that he was telling the truth. Even with Lex's wide grin spread across his face. Superman snorted and turned to leave.

"Wait," Luthor said. "Didn't you have someone else with you?"

Lex whirled around. Batman had been looking through files in the desks. Luthor roared in rage. The bodyguards stormed in and raised their guns yet again. Batman lept out of the office and out the window, quickly followed by Superman.

"Find anything?" Superman asked Batman.

"Nothing," Batman growled. "Either Luthor is covering his tracks very well or he's telling the truth. I'd guess the later myself, as much as I wish we could catch him for this."

"So where are the others now?" Superman asked as they began heading off. "We should probably rendezvous with them."

"Let me check," Batman replied. He pulled out a device from his utility belt and scanned it.

"How much did you put in our costumes?" Superman said, chuckling to himself.

"Shut up and get to the air," Batman replied quickly. His words were dead serious.

"What?" Superman said worriedly.

"They found them," Batman said bitterly as he started the transporters engines. "But it looks like the ALJ were too much for them again."

"Why do you think that?" Superman asked with great concern. He had still not begun to fly.

"The device," Batman said. "It picks up the JLA's whereabouts by their heartbeats. It shows the rate of their heartbeats too. And right now, half of the team are lying still with a much lower heartbeat then the others. Now stop staring and making me spell everything out to you and get there, dammit!"

Without saying another word, the transporter zoomed off into the distance. Superman stared after it, letting the news sink in. A few seconds later he was chasing after it, praying to god his teammates were all still alive when he got there.

dj_sha
09/05/2003, 22:09
The transporter landed on what appeared to be a island in the middle of the ocean. The JLA had moved the fight away to here, free of any civilians that would add difficulties. Batman jumped out of the transporter and looked around. The island looked deserted. It looked like a giant rock that was floating on the water. Batman turned around and saw Superman land next to him.

"They should be a couple miles up north," Batman pointed toward a higher level of rocks. "Since your the one who can get there in less then a second, how about you give me a ride there with you."

Superman nodded and picked Batman up off the ground. In a blink of an eye, they were at the battlefield. Looking down, what they saw was not reassuring. Flash, Plastic Man, and Wonder Woman lay in their own blood on the ground. Green Lantern had formed a shield around himself and Martian Manhunter, protecting them slightly from the combined attacks of Bizarro and his ALJ, minus Flash and Green Lantern who were twisted on the ground near the fallen JLA members.

"Let me down and go help them," Batman commanded. "I'll join in in a moment."

Superman obeyed and dropped Batman on the ground behind a pile of boulders. Superman zoomed away and began shooting heat ray blasts at the ALJ from behind. Startled, they scattered. Green Lantern and Martian Manhunter looked smiled in relief when they saw the blasts were coming from Superman.

"Finally you show up!" Green Lantern cheered. "Where've you and Bats been? Wait, where is Batman?"

"I'll tell you later," Superman answered quickly, firing another beam of heat that scorched Wonder Woman's clone.

Green Lantern nodded and formed a huge gun and thick, full body armor out of his ring. He took aim on the Manhunter clone and fired. The copy phased through the blast and charged Green Lantern. Superman turned and saw the attacking Martian. Moments later, he had burst into fire and was retreating away.

Superman turned back to the other enemies to be greeted by a giant gray fist. Flying back into one of the rocky hills and shattering it. Shaking his head, Superman flew right back to return the favor to the chuckling Bizarro.

Martian Manhunter phased through the ground and reappeared behind the scorched Wonder Woman. Grabbing her head, he began to psychically assault her. Before he could fully put her mind into submission, he was hit from behind. Whirling around, he saw the Batman copy swing another punch at him. J'onn stumbled backward, but soon recovered and began to attempt to fight both of them.

Things were beginning to go from bad to worse. Superman and Bizarro were in their own fight now. Green Lantern had managed to assist Martian Manhunter, but was knocked out in a sneak attack by the Manhunter copy. J'onn was now facing off against Batman, Wonder Woman and himself. The Wonder Woman and his own copy flew at him. He knocked Wonder Woman, who was already badly injured, out of the way but was struck hard in the face by the other attacker. Batman began to join in, but a tight cord wrapped around him.

"I think your after me," Batman snarled, stepping out from behind a large boulder. "Come and get me."

The Batman copy turned and spread a wide smile. He broke through the cord with ease and lunged at Batman. The clone wrapped his arms around Batman and trapped him in a bear hug. He began to squeeze as Batman struggled to get free.

"You stupid piece of ####!" Batman cursed. "Get...off...of...me!"

Batman put his hand into his utility belt and pulled out a vile of a clear liquid. Trying to reach for his clone, he activated the defense electricity shock on his suit. The clone stepped back and dropped him. Batman wasted no time. Taking the vile, he ran up to the copy and smashed it on his face. The clone cried in pain, clutching his face. Batman watched as the copy of himself began to dissolve.

A blood curdling screech rang out. Everyone left standing on the island turned to watch the bizarro Batman turn into a steaming puddle on the ground. Batman stepped back and wiped his forehead, panting. Bizarro gasped and rushed over to the mess on the ground.

"Yesssssss!" Bizarro moaned. "Why Birdman live? Whyyyyyy?!"

The remaining ALJ left Martian Manhunter and ran over to join Bizarro in his remorse. Batman, without any hesitation, reached into his utility belt and pulled out the familiar teleporter device. A moment later, they were all in the Watchtower again.

"What was that formula you used on the copy?" Martian Manhunter asked eagerly, turning to Batman. "When did you discover it?"

Batman just stood there, staring at J'onn. "Just something I whipped up ahead of time...." he muttered.

A wide grin spread across Superman's face. "You just pulled that randomly out, didn't you?" he laughed. "Admit it Batman. You didn't plan anything this time."

Batman glared at Superman. "Fine," he hissed. "I did. That x ray vision must have seen right through me."

"But can you not find what that vile contained?" J'onn asked, ignoring Superman's chuckling and Batman's sourness. "If you could, it would be all we need to defeat these villains."

"I'll do my best J'onn," Batman replied and headed off to the lab. "Give me a few hours and I'll be able to find it."

A few minutes after Batman left, the JLA began to wake up. Everything was explained to each of them. All of them sat there on the floor, waiting for Batman to find the formula. Suddenly, the whole Watchtower began to shake violently.

"What was that?" Plastic Man yelped.

Superman flew to the computer to check the security cameras that were outside the Watchtower. As the JLA assembled in the room, a voice rang out through the room from the cameras.

"Stay in JLA!" Bizarro's voice cried. "Bizarro keep you in himself!"

"Oh no..." Wonder Woman gasped. "We haven't got the formula yet. We're going to have to hold them off..."

"Let's plan this out," Superman said, turning around to face the rest of the team. "Wonder Woman and Green Lantern, stay up in space and protect the Watchtower. J'onn, take Flash and Plastic Man to solid ground. I'll take Bizarro elsewhere. Everyone stay in touch on the coms. If you run into any trouble, call for backup. Are you all ready?"

Everyone nodded. Superman nodded back and the JLA flew out of the Watchtower. The ALJ were waiting patiently, with Bizarro still grabbing on to the Watchtower's outer-shell and shaking it. When he noticed that the JLA had exited, he let go and smiled at them.

"About time you stayed in," he said. "We left to avenge the life of Birdman you revived."

The JLA didn't bother to think of what he had just said. They just remembered the plan they had formed. Superman flew by Bizarro and knocked him into the hull of the Watchtower, making a large dent. Bizarro shook his head and looked up to see Superman racing off toward earth. Frowning, he flew after him.

The JLA followed que. Martian Manhunter picked up Flash and Plastic Man, who had bubbles of air created by Green Lantern around their heads, and headed toward a different location on earth. Their counterparts immediately followed them.

When Wonder Woman's and Green Lantern's clones began to take chase, Green Lantern and Wonder Woman held out their arms to stop them from leaving.

"Here we go again," Green Lantern said.

Flash ran through the streets of California, hoping to get his counterpart out of a populated area. A blink of an eye later and he was in the desert of Arizona. He ducked a 1,000 mph punch from his copy and swung one right back at him, throwing him into a huge rock.

Martian Manhunter and Plastic Man had been separated from Flash in an attempt to break up the fight more. Plastic Man was exchanging punches with giant mallets for fists with his clone. J'onn was busy dodging shots by phasing as much as possible and giving his own rock solid punches back. Both were already being overpowered again.

Wonder Woman and Green Lantern were holding up fairly well, but the clones were attacking the Watchtower more then their enemies, most likely under command. Green Lantern had been able to form a thin shield around the Watchtower, but the counterparts were already beginning to break through it.

"Can't you make it any stronger?" Wonder Woman asked while she pummeled the bizarro GL.

"No, not if you want me to keep fighting these guys too," he replied, taking a shot at the Wonder Woman copy with a shoulder cannon he had created.

"Agh!" Wonder Woman grunted. She flew past Green Lantern and cracked his shield with her impact. As they watched in horror, their bizarro copies approached the JLA's headquarters with wide, evil grins stretched across their faces.

Meanwhile in Metropolis, Bizarro and Superman were engaged in a battle of epic proportions. Buildings crumbled and cars were thrown aside as they attacked each other over and over, neither showing any sign of tiring. This is not the place I would have picked to fight, Superman thought. But Bizarro isn't very easy to escape, or move away.

Bizarro breathed pure intense heat onto Superman's face. Superman stumbled back, but unleashed a blast of the same power right back at Bizarro from his eyes. The blast mostly hit Bizarro's ugly mug, but Superman's aim was not perfect. A building behind Bizarro began to burst into flames. Superman raced over to stop the fire with his ice breath, but after doing so was caught off guard by two hammering fists on his back. Lying in rubble, Superman glared back up at Bizarro.

Blood steamed on the desert surface. Flash was trying to avoid his bizarro self, but still keep it in the safe deserted location. His foe was as fast as him, but at the same time stronger and tougher. Flashes attacks did not fall as heavy on his opponent as they did upon himself. He was getting desperate.

Flash began to spin at extreme speeds, causing a huge tornado to form. His enemy simply ran through it and landed one punch on him, stopping the tornado. Flash got up and shook his head. He thought he heard voices in his head as he got shakily to his feet. But listening more carefully, he recognized the voice he heard.

"Are you still alive Flash?" Batman's voice asked over his com. "I've got the formula worked out. I'll be there in a few minutes. Keep your counterpart tied up till then."

The words Flash heard were music to his ears. So much that he was almost hit by a knockout blow from his enemy. He got his balance back immediately and began racing around the desert, dodging every strike intended to meet his face. Come on Bats, Flash thought desperately. Get over here.

"I've got the formula," Batman said over his com to Green Lantern and Wonder Woman as he stepped into the JLA transport. "I'm going to give it to Flash now. I'll come back and give it to you two next."

"What?!" Wonder Woman screamed. "How about you give it to us first while your up here and then we can go down and help together? Wouldn't that be a better plan?"

Batman, though worried that Flash wouldn't be able to last much longer, decided that was a better plan. "Come in the takeoff pad and I'll give you the formula. After you're done with your guys, we'll go to Flash."

Wonder Woman flew to Batman's side, with Green Lantern sliding in while returning fire to the trailing counterparts. Batman handed them both a vile each filled with black and green colored liquid.

"And what do we do with this?" Green Lantern asked, examining the contents.

"Just shatter it on their body, preferably the face," Batman said. "I didn't have time to discover the correct amount, but since it will turn them into liquid almost instantly I doubt the correct dosage matters much."

The other two both nodded and flew back out. Moments later, they had returned, covered in a gray slime.

"Well, now we know that if you use it in space the creatures won't melt. They'll just explode on you." Wonder Woman said bitterly, wiping some of it off her shoulder and making a disgusted face.

"We better get to Flash," Batman said, snickering a little under his breath. "Take me in an air bubble, Green Lantern."

Green Lantern obeyed and they left immediately to Arizona.

The three arrived in the nick of time. Green Lantern formed a bubble to protect them all from the dust storm that was being created by the two Flashes running. As Flash ran by them, Batman handed him the formula. When the dust settled, a wounded Flash was standing over a puddle of gray slime.

"Phew!" Flash panted. "Glad you guys came when you did. This guy was getting to be pretty annoying. So where to next?"

"We'll go to Plastic Man and J'onn in Venice," Batman answered. "Since Bizarro is the original, I doubt the formula would work on him. We'll just have to hope Superman can hold his own until we get there."

Green Lantern created another bubble around the four and they headed across the ocean. When they landed in Venice they saw people hiding and screaming in terror. Looking around more, they finally saw the two heroes they were looking for, but not in good health they had preferred. Plastic Man and his copy were twisted together and apparently stuck. Martian Manhunter and his clone were chasing each other through buildings walls.

"Diane and Kyle, take this and go after J'onn. Wally and I will try to untie the Plastic Men."

The groups went their separate ways. Flash began to race around the ball of red and flesh color. Realizing this would not work and separating the two would take more time then they had, Batman decided to take a chance. He did not know what would happen if the formula came into contact with an original and not a clone, but this would have to be the first test. He walked up and carefully poured a stream onto the clone's head with only a very small amount dripping onto Plastic Man. The copy screeched and turned into the familiar gray slime. Plastic Man stretched and regained his usual form, wiping the slime off him and puking into a nearby river.

Green Lantern and Wonder Woman caught up with the phasing Martian Manhunters in under a minute. Before they could phase through the room they were in, Wonder Woman crashed through the wall, tackling the clone through the floor. She held him down long enough for Green Lantern to pour the formula on him. Wonder Woman leaped up, keen on not getting anymore of the slime on her. Martian Manhunter flew through the hole in the ceiling and watched as his imperfect copy melted.

"I take it Batman was able to find the formula he had used?" Martian Manhunter asked.

"Uh huh," Green Lantern answered, stepping back to avoid the slime getting on his feet.

"And who else must we help?" Martian Manhunter said as they began to head back to find the others.

"Superman's still fighting Bizarro," Green Lantern replied. "But Bats says the formula we used on these guys won't effect Bizarro, so we'll just have to take him out the old fashioned way."

Superman was sent flying straight through an office building, landing hard in the street. He flew out of the crater his impact had caused and hit Bizarro with an uppercut. Grabbing the back of his head, Superman dragged Bizarro's face up the steel building side. Superman dropped him and Bizarro fell into a car, destroying it. Superman hovered down but was hit from behind by some sort of laser.

"What the....?" Superman said. Turning around he saw Bizarro still getting to his feet again. He looked through Bizarro and saw what had hit him. A group of what looked like seventy Intergang agents were marching toward both of them.

A round of blasts from the front row of Intergang agent's laser cannons fired. Bizarro was hit, and though he struggled he was thrown backward by the force of the attack. Superman dodged as many shots as he could, melting some of the guns with his heat ray vision. He had disarmed over ten of them when he was struck hard on the back and sent back to the hard earth.

"What do you think your doing Bizarro?!" Superman roared. "Can't you see were being attacked? Both of us? Why don't you help stop these guys? Unless....no...."

The realization hit Superman harder then any punch. There was indeed more to this then met the eye. Bizarro was working with the Intergang....but who was the Intergang working for now?

Before Superman could arrange his thoughts, the rest of the JLA arrived. Seeing the Intergang there, Batman barked out orders which the rest of the team obeyed without hesitation. Flash ran by each of the Intergang members, knocking half of them out with just one punch. Green Lantern and Plastic Man captured the rest, so they would be able to get some answers about their involvement later.

Superman, Wonder Woman, and Martian Manhunter attacked Bizarro together. Moments later, their combined attack had proved to be too much for him, and he too fell to the ground to join the caged Intergang agents.

"So," Batman said, walking up to look over the captured foes. "When did the Intergang agents show up?"

"Recently," Superman responded. "About before you all showed up. Bizarro was working with them all along. He wouldn't attack them and their fire was directed at only me. A few stray blasts hit Bizarro, but that was it."

"I doubt Bizarro was working with them," Batman said. "I think that instead Bizarro was being used. He's not a very clever creature. He'd be perfect for someone to use for pure brawns. He did come and steal what was needed to create the ALJ himself, but it was just for someone else to use to actually bring them to life. We need to question these agents and find out who's the real mastermind."

"I think we may have to pay another visit to Luthor as well," Superman added. "I still think he has some sort of involvement in this, whether it's a large or small part."

"Wait, slow down," Plastic Man interrupted. "The guy you two went to visit was LUTHOR?"

"Yes," Batman answered, a bit annoyed. "But we didn't find anything. Now let's get back to the Watchtower and find out what we can from this group. We can also store Bizarro in another cell. He may come in handy later, since I know he won't be able to give us any information."

Green Lantern formed a bubble around himself, Flash, Plastic Man and Batman and took off, with the rest of the team following behind.

"There's something I have to know though," Green Lantern asked Batman as they exited the earth's atmosphere. "What was in that formula that killed the bizarro freaks?"

Batman smirked. "The same formulas I created in case any of you went rogue, mixed with some other chemicals. And no I do not still possess the formulas that Ras Al Ghul got his hands on." he added quickly, seeing the expression on everyone else's faces.

"Then what was in the one that killed your copy?" Wonder Woman asked curiously.

"I told you," Batman said. "I don't know."

The oval office was dark. Lex Luthor was sitting alone at his desk, looking through some papers. Suddenly a rap at the window sounded. Turning around, he saw the familiar faces of the Man of Steel and the Caped Crusader, again hovering outside.

"Deja vu," Luthor sneered, opening the window and letting them again. "And to show you I still have nothing to hide, you can look through my office for however long you desire."

Batman raised an eyebrow, but still began to look through various folders and file cabinets. Superman, on the other hand, stared menacingly and suspiciously at Luthor.

"What do you know about the Intergang?" Superman asked.

"The Intergang's current state?" Luthor responded curiously. "What, have they committed a new crime recently?"

"Bizarro and the ALJ were working with them," Superman said. "What do you know about this?"

"Nothing!" Luthor chuckled. "How many times must I tell you? I have no idea how anyone who leads the Intergang would be able to get Bizarro, who's as stubborn as a ######## goat, work for them completely willingly. Now get out. I'm growing tired of these pointless meetings."

Luthor gestured toward the open window. Batman nodded at Superman and they both flew out. Luthor closed the window after they were out of sight.

"Did you find anything this time?" Superman asked Batman as they landed on the ground.

"No," Batman said darkly, getting into the transporter. "Luthor's not an idiot. If he had anything before, he would have hid it in a much safer place by now. It will be hard to find anything on him now."

Superman sighed as they headed back to the Watchtower. He was hoping so much to finally get Lex out of any sort of political power for good. But Luthor would never go down without a fight. He would just have to wait for the time to come, the time when he could get him out of his life for good.

So what'd you all think? Anyone who has read this story, please post your comments and questions now. I will respond to anything you post. Thanks for reading, and I'll have Deadpool: Marvel Road Trip up hopefully over the weekend.

Thanks for another story, Sha.

In my personal opinion, the fight scenes left something to be desired, the unresolved 'master villain' ( you hinted at Luthor, but at no time did you confirm that it was him..) was a problem for me, and the story doesn't flow well. If your first story was 8 out of 10, I am forced to grade this one 4 or 5 out of 10. Thanks for the effort, though, and keep writing! I'm sure there are people who read it who totally disagree with me.

No problem Masada. I personally wasn't as pleased with this story as the other one. This one was a little forced and could have gone through more planning. As for the mystery villain, I did that for a reason. One of the choices for #4 story is going to be JLA Part 2. So if you liked the way I handled the JLA, you can vote for it and go deeper into this. Of course if you didn't like it, there's gonna be more choices.

I have to agree.. and not to nitpick but.. Bizarro last I checked never uses is. He says Bizarro am. The fight scenes were sometimes hard to decipher as there were no distinctions from the clones, and the real deal except a couple of references. Batman felt a little insulting to me as well.. Calling anything a stupid piece of anything seems out of character just like him not knowing what he hit the Bat Clone with. Batman knows what's in his utility belt at all times.

Batman also seemed more abraisive than I recall him. Now this may just be because I've not been reading recent issues of JLA, but he just seemed to be more blunt with his insults than usual. Batman in my experience goes for backhanded complements and subtly when he's going to lob an insult.

Again it may just be that I've not read JLA in so long that I don't know his current personality.

No problem. I added the not knowing what he used against his clone a little for comedy relief and so the battle wouldn't end as quickly. I've found that the big fight scenes are hard to tell (especially with clones). It'd be easier if it was drawn. Thanks for posting.
