She’s one of the few people that talks back to Judge Dredd, so you know she’s got to be tough. She was hard to nail down because her mental powers sort of change and expand every time she appears. Mind Control may have been a good option for her, but I just didn’t see her powers reliably working that way. Instead I gave her a couple of clicks of Psychic Blast followed by some Incapacitate. Her Perplex, like a lot of mentalists that I give that power to, is used to reflect her ability to read minds or psychically collect information that she can then use against the target – either pointing out weaknesses or offering advice on how to best fight someone. Her 2000 A.D. team ability, which allows her to declare another figure or team as her target and gain a +1 to her attack value against it/them, gives her a great edge because she already has a good attack value; add in her Perplex and she either gets even better, or she does better damage. In the end, Judge Anderson has great offensive potential and also makes a good supporting piece, especially later in her dial.</TD></TR></TABLE>

Wow, this figure looks great...I love 2000AD! She should be able to take down some major players....not sure about how she will soak up damage though.

Finally a 2000 AD character! She should be really useful, I can't wait to field an all Judge Team, though I'll have to trade for some Brit City Judges to round it off :( This 2 set thing is rather depressing for those in the U.S. that read 2000 AD.

It's about time. A decent figure!

Can't wait for my store's booster draft on the 10th.

Wow. To continue the rest of this thread's comments, I'm finally getting excited about IndyClix.

The previews seem to be getting better

08/27/2003, 16:04
Yeah. Judge Dredd and co seem to be the only line exciting me about this set, and this preview finally made this set look a bit cooler.

This fig is cool, but did anyone look at the pics of some of the characters in the Indyclix rule book? Lobster Johnson? Saurian trooper? Ashleigh? Stix? Wulf Sturnhammer? Major Maxim? Torquemada? WHO?????

And on Page 3, the diagram that outlines the combat dial states that the Indyclix set has 120 different characters...that's more than 96...are they counting LE's?

IndyClix has a brand new starter set. Infinity Challenge had 150 figs and Hypertime had 130, so 120 is actually not alot.

08/27/2003, 17:15
120 isn’t a lot, but considering that we’re seeing characters with numbers in the low 90s who appear to be uniques (first Angelus, now Anderson), either the number in the rulebook is wrong or IndyClix has about 30 figs at the Unique level of rarity.

You guys are forgetting - some figs are appearing in the UK that are not appearing in the US, and vice-versa. It is more likley there are 96 figures for each area, thus making the grand total somewhat higher.

There must be something wrong with this preview. She doesn't appear to have Blades/Claws/Fangs...

Very impressive power mix and tres cool TA

I've actually been more excited about the previous previews, Danger Girls, Arwyn, etc. than I am about this one. I guess I'm just not into the whole Judge Dredd thing. Future stuff just isn't my cup of scotch.

96 figs plus 24 that swap out depending which side of the pond you're on = 120.

My guess is it's 8 r/e/vs, which would agree with the 8 fig number JonL mentioned at GenCon.

So stop doubting me already!!! ;)

Tally another one in the "first Indyclix preview fig I've been interested in" column. The new team ability is a nice touch, too; it's good to see they're not being static about this... though, of course, this'll give the "no mixing of differen sets' team abilities with wild cards!" troop something else to scream about.

Also add another complaint to the divided set approach. The gamers shouldn't care, and making it a full and official 120 figure set is the way they should have went. Maybe they had some bizarre hopes of forcing completists to try to order a case each of US and UK release? I'm still not planning on buying more than the starter and 8 boosters I've already ordered, aside from anything I might pick up if I decide to play in an Indy marquee event. Eventually I'll be able to trade for any I want that I don't happen to pull on my own.

Come to think of it, they could be counting the LEs.

IC & CJ both have 23, and Indy has 3 mailaways so far, so it could easily be 24 LEs in Indy Clix.

Therefore, ignore whichever of my two posts you think makes me look (more) foolish.

Three mailaways? I've lost track a bit here. We have Witchblade and Arwyn, but who is the third?

Also am I right that so far in DC/MArvel we've had: Wolverine, OWAW Superman, Phasing Lantern, and PSM Hulk so far? I suppose you can count the Antman/Y.Jacket, Mailbox Plasticman, and Atom too. Anyone else whose not a standard LE?

Actually I like the other previews better, but she's a great sculpt and theres nothing wrong with Judges.

Hersheys better.

Looks great! Been waiting for more 2000AD info. Almost didn't think they would make her because her powers didn't seem to mesh with the game powers very much. But I like the way she turned out.
New team ability...I like it. Getting more excited about this set now.

Well, am I the only one disappointed? Not with the inclusion of Judge Anderson of course, nor her excellent sculpt, but with the fact that she's a unique. The designer even said it in his notes -

"She was hard to nail down because her mental powers sort of change and expand every time she appears"

This is quite true but doesn't it suggest that she should have had REV versions?
Now I know that some figures have to be uniques and some may be uniques that we wish were commons (ala Nightcrawler, of whom, if Whizkids doesn't put a REV version in Critical Mass there will be some disappointed clix'ers. Don't tell me they can't with a spidey, etc in every set).
But a Character like Judge Anderson should have multiple versions whereas Torquemada would suggest more of a Unique figure.
Personally I was hoping for a unique "Judge Dredd on a Lawmaster" (for the non-2000AD readers, Judge Dredd mounted on his huge armoured and armed motorbike)

GMSLegion
08/28/2003, 09:24
andrew's correct. Anderson's powers were much weaker when she debutted in 1980. Since the character ages in real time, she's had over two decades to develop mind control, and exhibited this to great effect in the Second Robot War a few years back.

Personally I'm still waiting to see which way us Aussies get screwed...I'd love Anderson and all the 2000ad guys but I get the bad feeling we'll end up with the US ones...<sigh>

08/28/2003, 11:41
We talked to our local clix supliers (in Sydney) and they rang up Croftminster (the Oz suppliers). Croftminster rang up the states, apparently, but were not able to find out which we would be getting. So we are awaiting developments

skeevo666
08/28/2003, 13:35
But you guys will get the Crocodile Hunter Clix that we in the U.S. won't, right? :p

Just watching her spinning around like a disco diva on the wizkids site is...well,you don't have to be a mindreader to know what i'm thinking.

Guess she'd just arrest me for thought crime.

Manchine
08/28/2003, 14:02
Finally something I really like. Other then the Uniques.

PantherPriest
08/28/2003, 16:45
But this IS a unique.

And yes I perfectly agree with the disco diva jab, the high heels are killer.

Manchine
08/28/2003, 16:59
Yep I missed that one she is a Unique.

ahiruko
08/28/2003, 18:32
Don't get me wrong, the figure is great, and I like the team ability better than the old "we're assuming it's like Batman's" one, but ...

Unique? Judge Anderson? Who the heck are they going to put in as R/E/Vs if the second-most-prominent actual Judge didn't rate multiple versions?

And aren't Uniques supposed to be unusual or exciting or something? I mean, yes, Commissioner Gordon, but ... shouldn't a charater chosen to be a unique be really powerful, really obscure, or at least an alternate version or something? Not just "oh, here's a character we didn't have room for three versions of, make her unique"?

And I'd gotten my hopes up that the JD unique would be Judge Death or Mean Machine, too ...

KidInTheHelmet
08/28/2003, 20:14
Not reall the right place for this but man I can't wait to field my Lobster Johnson clix.

But to get sorta close to topic, the 2000AD TA is pretty cool, never read one of the books but I'm interested now.

GMSLegion
08/28/2003, 21:38
Well, the disco-diva thing kind of makes sense. Brian Bolland did model her on Debbie Harry. Label Blondie as you will, "Heart of Glass" was definitely disco.

Krellen
08/28/2003, 23:06
where did the witchblade mail away apear in?
And psychic blast, perplex, and her team abilty are going to be sick combos.

shin-goji
08/29/2003, 02:27
The 200AD TA makes a great scenario to run your characters through.

PantherPriest
08/29/2003, 04:20
Mean Machine. That would rock.

Was Fergie unique to the movie? If not he'd make great cheap perplex. Sides then I'd have a sculpt that could do it all night long.

GMSLegion
08/29/2003, 06:02
There was a character named Fergie in the comics, but much like how Bane was turned from a dangerous criminal mastermind into a grunting muscular henchman in the last Batman movie, they didn't do him right in the Dredd film.

The original Fergie was a huge, violent, quite stupid undercity dweller who beat the daylights out of people with an old baseball bat and was surrounded by a swarm of flies. Somehow he got transmogrified into a wacky comedy relief sidekick played by Rob Schneider. But hey, that's Hollywood...

PantherPriest
08/29/2003, 06:28
Holy #### thats a big difference. I mean I like the Fergie I know, but I don't see how you can make that big of a shift. With Bane they just dumbed him down a LOT. With this it sounds like they weren't even close. However, that does fit with the rest of the movie s dark dark theme.

marshmallowhun
08/29/2003, 06:57
Ok,i can't spell stix but the original Fergie was definitely spelt Fergee.

The only thing the two Ferg's have in common is that under any other circumstances Dredd would have treated them like any other criminal.
Old stoney face's humanity has been leaking out ever since.

My understanding is that it'll be in an upcoming issue of Scrye, though I don't know when. Soon I would think. Next ish?
