Im glad to see you brining a shield team to your tourney. I personally have amazing success with a SHIELD team, thanks to Clay Quartermain, who's my favorite le. I might also suggest adding Gabe Jones for super cheap leadership.

Sadly, I dont have a Frank Gunzer yet, so I hvae no idea how he plays. once the new rules are official, SHIELD will be one stacked team, thanks to everyones favorite, the mandroids. Plus RS with nick.

Now i only need wait for the "Dum Dum" Dugan fig. hear that wizkids?! *winkwinkwink*

Im also a big fan of throwing taskmaster on a shield team. preferably vet. not only can they bump his damage, but he can copy to spit it the otherway. you could have some cheap trooper boost tm, and he can still perplex his own damage up 1 on the vet version. thats 4 damage with a 12 attack. booyah!!


Sadly, that violates the theme, but it's fun anyways. Hopefully if we get a punisher fig, we'll also get a Frank Castle, Agent of SHIELD le. again, hear that wizkids?

In mixed games, i throw in batman and sgt rock for a Strength of Man army. I like the idea of a bunch of regular guys with no powers taking down mutants and other assorted SPB's.

Well sammy is no spectacular piece but Tia is so hard to find. And yes Mandroid and Frank are it. Franks claim to fame is a 8 range. thats it but D@amn thats good for a Swat specialist. i like the Strength of Man army. that kicks ###. the first Sgt Rock i got went right into SHIELD.

What strategies do you guys used in playing shield armies without getting fried? I have played against one once and I just Energy Exploded with Boomer-Strange (When it was popular to use) and pulse waved. Of course this was a inexperienced player but just wanted to know how people can win with swarm armies.

SHIELD is basically a waiting game. No team can hit hard enough to beat the team in one turn plus our figs are expendable. Draw them in. Crossfire works like a charm. Draw them in. Shoot the bruisers. Drop taxis with snipers. TK men were their needed via Mandroid. It is a turn very team as in you must wait. Tourneys are not the ideal place for SHIELD but if you love it. PLAY IT

Ok, I understand know. The kid I played had all of his army bunched up and it was a massacre. Who's the biggest piece you use in the army? (point wise) Oh and one more thing, in your unbiased opinion who is the best swarm army? ( Skrull, hand ninjas, S.H.I.E.L.D, ect.)

the biggest point value piece is Nick Fury at 62pts. by far the best Swarm army is Ninja. Stealth and Blades claws. Range and stealth. D@MN. Of course if you bunch your SHIELD up you will take a EE shot in the @$$ every turn. Drop anyone with EE fast and hard

Yeah, with a shield army, i usually keep my guys grouped into 4 man pods. If 1 pod gets tagged with ee, the other ones can step up and maul whoever hit him. keep snipers on the roof and fury in a bush and youre good to go.

Now, once we get some shield commandos with stealth, and some jetpack wearing troopers, we'll be in business.

And i think vampires are actually the best swarm army. they got stealth and blades too, but also regen and se on the vet.

Hey can someone help me out with my army? it is a 400 Pt mixed and the stipulation is that you can only have the max of 4 pieces. I came up with the army

V Firelord
V Mandarin
E Paramedic

I believe it totals out to be 397 but I’m not sure. It's not too good of an army. Thor running shots and carries Firelord, Mandarin sits back, snipes and outwits which to me is a waste of points since he has no way of getting around besides moving by himself. the tournament is this Sunday so I am in no hurry. I would appreciate the help.

actually it hits 392. if you swap mandarin out for vet blastarr and make the medic jane foster, it equals 395. you get that extra bump from blastar as another res guy, plus theres no denying that janes the bomb. now, if youre not sold on medics and are just trying to fill points evenly, you could drop her for a v vampire lackey. you'd have

you could have blastaar carry the lackey till she rages out. OR, in the true spirit of shield, you could make it 400 even by swapping the lackey for LE Laura Brown. it never hurts to have 10 range on your side, especially when its dealing 3 damage and can pump your other figs. hope that helped

Yeah that's a good idea, only problem is that i don't have a jane foster :( The venue where I usually go to suck for prize support. They owed my brother 4 LEs for winning first and he was shafted with hypertime and clob time level 3s. The only time i have ever seen a Jane Foster on the line I was gone that day and couldn't make it. I do like medic instead of vamp lack, would a V Aim Agent do the trick? Also Blastaar is kinda weak in his beginning clicks, Is there anything i should do like push him to beef him up? I like that army so i'l try it this sunday.

yes well im that why on friday nights i just give my dog strange things and sees what he doesn with them (strange meaning cell phones,bowls, silverware, water bottles)the main reaction is to try to consume them. it usually doesnt work

Alright. What are your thought on the band "Slipknot"? Personally i dig Slipknot being a hard core fan and "Maggot" I love the music the people and the Mosh Pits.
