Hellboy questions

I have been meaning to pick up some Hellboy before now, but with IndyClix out, I am really interested in these characters. Could someone here either give me a summary of the main characters and plot, or maybe point me to a good website that contains one?

Check out the official site for the Hellboy movie. (http://www.sonypictures.com/movies/hellboy/hellsite/intro.html) They have a some little flash movies that show Hellboy's background and where he came from.
