hey all,

We're fixing to open up shop pretty soon on DeckTech.net's heroclix section. Since this is the number1 hangout for clix players, i'm asking you a favor. We *really* want to get the 15000 DT members interested in clix, and they are showing a lot of interest, but the players there need some basics.

So we're having this article (and team) contest. Would some of you fine folks (including admins and mods) cover some of these topics? Since these are the #1 players.

Using terrain
Beating "camper" teams
All manner of team building articles
Great undercosted characters
Beginning strategy
When to push and not
Figs that stink
Tips on buying and trading (it's a pricey game)
Using team abilites
Tech articles
Standard teams you'll see at tournaments

Anything else you can think of

Here's the linkeroo www.decktech.net then click on the picture of elektra and wolvie.

I'm really stoked about this, and I think the guys here at hcrealms are too.

The sites are like perfect compliments. This site is such an awesome hang out and discussion area for clix fans of all levels.

Dt is something different. It's an information archive. I think the players here, esp the top players, will love it. See every time you post some kind of team, article or tournament report, you get feedback in the form of ratings. Based on these ratings, you get "tech points" which you can use for website features(like deleting bogus reviews), and just for general bragging rights.

Your submissions stay linked to you forever through a customizable member page, which (i wrote this) you can even upload a picture too! People can subscribe to their favorites, it's got "dmail" (similar to pm's here) which informs you of reviews, it's got auctions... everything you can think of.

It also has a discussion area, but it's quite different than this great one here. It's a lot of weird stuff, it's a unique appeal. It's a place to unwind from games for a bit and discuss everything under the sun from Politics to religion, to girls. It's pretty nutty stuff.

Even ole draddog himself is a memba from his wars days, and was a #### good one! You'll see him on the directory, he's got some cool star wars ccg decks and reports. You'll find lots of gamers you know.

I think as it catches on among decktechers, you'll see lots of new faces over here, and lots of fun stuff to talk about. I'm telling everyone on dt about hcrealms already. It really is the primo clix hangout.

ok, well, enough yacking. See you there, and here.

Guys, you know what I really need an article on? Tips on beating stealth. What's the best ways to get rid of stealthed chars?

Well neal, that's kind of already been covered by your's truely over on WK site: "Beating the Bat". I'd be more than happy to write a follow-up for you with new options since CJ has come out and it will greatly enhance the options. Would you like this post-Indy rules, since we'll all have to play with those come October?

Thanks,
DS

One of the big problems with writing articles at this time is that in a months time, the rules are changing. Most of us are still trying to get a handle on them. There is a few major changes to the rules that affect most of the articles you are looking for, especially team building, what you are likely to find in a tourney game, beating Stealth and "turtle" (or "camper" as you call it) teams...the new rules have a major effect on the playability of most of the figures in the game....

On the flip side, I hope everything works out for you...

Ds-00-0: First, is your name a star wars reference? They have this whole slew of characters like that. I'm a big fan of star wars and star wars ccg. I was actually the FL state champ.

Yeah, i would love an update of that! Esp post "new rules", you know? What a shakeup the new rules are, madness. I love it! Thanks a lot, that is mega nice of you.

Psylockeslover: Yeah, i hear you, i can see hard to get a handle on a lot of the finer points still. Big change. But there are still a lot of basics my guys need. hell, that i could even benefit from. The gamers on DT are hard core, you know? If they play a game, they want to know everything about it, many of them are ccg champs and such.

So if you can think of *any* basics that still apply, and feel comfortable, give a quick type. most are ccg'ers, so even miniature basics, like action management and positing would really help.

By the way, I've read the ones so far (peeking, i can't help) and they are really, really good.

Thanks a lot both of you

Cool - glad to see some people are getting interested.

I'll get an article together about the new rules - I've been playing them and they are big fun. They've really changed the game for the better - can't commend Wizkids enough. I've seen some rules changes by companies (koff LOTR rule of 4 koff) that I've never quite gotten over.

So it won't be too hard getting some articles together on that.
