Has anybody here seen the Japanese Live-action shows? Which ones were good? Recently, I saw some Kamen Rider DVDs and I was thinking about buying them, but I don't know which one I should get. There was Kamen Rider Black and Kamen Rider 555. Any help will be appreciated.

I liked Boton's VA... but mostly because of how she said "He didn't even come close to saying 'hot'" in a recent episode. Another ####py VA... See Sakura Wars.

ADV's first release, OVA 1 was good. 2, the Return of the Spirit Warriors/Wedding Bells was good. TV Series was AWFUL, and it was still ADV!!! Wth? The movie, by Geneon/pioneer was GOD Awful. and since the new OVA was picked up by Funi, I shudder to think what they will sound like.

Kamen Rider was actually "brought over" to the US years and years ago as part of the Power Rangers invasion (as I like to call it). It even got the power rangers hack and slash treatment... They used new american footage mixed with japanese footage. I would never pick up a Kamen Rider series not just because of the horrid show I saw the US make, but because I tend to stay away from live action. Ultraman Tiga can add to my reasons why. :rolleyes:


If you're generally interested and are willing to spend the money, I say go for it. I know if I had the chance, I would watch Sera Myu (so far the ONLY live action japanese anything I want to see). Here's hoping you like it if you choose to watch it.

I recently purchased the entire series of Masked Rider Agito on DVD. I have to say that I enjoyed it a lot. I'll probably buy another series in the very near future.

Oh, I don't know if anyone else knows about this, but FUNimation has the rights to "Samurai 7." I for one am very disappointed about this.

I saw at my local comic shop that Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence is out in theatres. Have any of you guys seen it? I thought I would go check it out if I got a good feedback about it.

Ghost in the Shell bored me, the twenty + minutes of it I saw. My guess it that the show is overrated and overhyped, so I'm going to stay away from the sequal. Sure, it's unfair to judge a movie by only watching a small amount of it, but hey, Evangelion bored me, too, so I don't watch anymore of it.

I agree, Neon bored be also (wasted my $80). I too am looking forward to Ghost in the Shell 2, however no movie theaters carry it here. Guess I'll have to wait for the DVD release.

GITS isnt bad, just gottawatch more than a littel of it in order to enjoy it. ive been hearing good about gits2.

At one point in time there was someone who kept track of all the members, but alas that fell by the wayside. Just pick an anime character to be and you're in necrostrider!!!!!!! If you pick one that is already in use, I'm sure that person will tell you (I had that happen to me somewhere in the #500's posts).

Also, I need some opinions on this show called Ikki Tousen. I saw the box set at Best Buy and the artwork caught my eye. It looks like another Real Bout High School.

so I just finished watching the end to Cowboy Bebop for like the 12th time, and I'm just now seeing that Spike only had one eye. thats CRAZY.

I don't know about you guys, but I'm currently into live-action shows, or "tokusatsu." I have the entire series of "Jizou Ningen Kikaida" on DVD (waiting patiently for the box that holds all the DVDs). Slowly, but surely, getting into Kamen Raidaa V3.

I've seen a few of them. They are okay, but I don't know whats goin on. Whenever I had a doctors appt when I was living in Tokyo, Kamen Raider would be playing.
