I would like to request to be the original Optimus Prime. I had tried to keep up with the TF series since it came out. Beast Wars was a good series. To answer your question Transprime, Prime and Megatron "sacrificed" themselves by diving into the heart of Cybertron. Somehow with their combine lives they somehow reverted Cybertron to a technoOrganic planet with green plants. All of the TF came back alive but of course they were outlines. I lost track of the more current series so I can't tell you anything on that.

ok, sweet. Thanx. Hey, I've got a ####load of ideas for figs in a manga and anime HC set. right now all I've got on them is name, powers, AE, ranks, and anything else special. I've also come up with the idea of a new fig style; Mechas. They'd be MW sized, but have all HC powers and numbers. Also, for the first 2 clicks they take damage -2(it'd be too monotonous to give everyone invuln and toughness), then damage -1 for 2 more clicks, then nothing. Anyway, the first fig I've writen down;
Vash the Stampede-REV(maybe U with that angel arm)
0 damage
powers-running shot, perplex, incapacitate, and super senses
AE-Knives
more to come

What's your favorite and least favorite anime show?

favourite ? erm there are so many ... I tend to gravitate towards short(<30) episodes with a good plot , REAL characters with REAL flaws (not those indestructible Gundam Wing Mecha) , and a consistent plot at that . Not like BBGCrisis 2040 where the plot falls apart halfway through the series . Or Slamdunk where (it's a good manga , though) the focus shifts from the Hanamichi love story to pure Basketball ... which sucks pure carp . not the fish , though ;)

Okie ... my top 5
(in random order)
1) Saiyuki(heh , i'm a hypocrite , Real characters my foot , but it is a nice anime about 4 friends)
2) Vandread(the shortness of the story makes collecting a great lot easier for me . I watched it on free tv , though ...)
3) Spirited Away(ok ok , i must admit i was a little fazed by the AWESOME media reviews , while i thought it was just a carbon copy of Wizzie in OZ . Boy , was i wrong . Slightly , but still ... this makes a great FIRST anime for all those newbies out there)

i'm stuck comparing what i've watched so far , and listing them all out takes some time , so bear with me .

On another hand , i've put up my ideas for the Goddess trio in Clix in the Indy forum . I'll post them here sometime later . The gist is:
Skuld-5 clicks of health , phasing(remember when she appeared in Keichi's bathtub?) , range of 3(long mallet) , CCE(mallet) , flight(she's a goddess) , BCF(mallet ...:rolleyes: )

Urd-Phasing , Flight , Perplex(sexy chick!) , Outwit(love potion , anyone?) , EE(theorectically , this represents the lightning from heaven missing her :))

Belldandy-PC!!!(goddess of luck , right?) , flight , phasing

All goddesses have flight , various degrees of phasing , and supersenses .

Anyone who's watched the 'chi-bi' versions of AMG ... the last click reflects that . Stealth , defense of 18 , Incapacitate , Supersenses , low movement , damage of 0.

Bubblegum Crisis(mostly dance or pop , depending on Jap or US version)
Vandread(ending song is nice , but only with the credits. on it's own , it gets annoying)
Kenshin(yeah! but after a while , it too gets annoying)
Saiyuki(i like Alone , and my sis plays it on piano ;) so i guess it's okay)
Cowboy Bebop(Jazz and Bebop! yeah good tunes to hum to)

the gundam and evangelion songs are not bad either ...

Cowboy Bebop theme rocks!!!!! Actually all the music on Bebop is awesome. The Seatbelts are a great bnd if you like Jazzy stuff like that.

yup . The graphics are nice , but particularly because of the smooth music . It's so different from all those po(o)py and dance tunes rampant in every other anime soundtrack . I mean , how many times do you get to listen to Jazz in an anime ? and the premise of bounty hunters is good .

I personally like Ed and the dog , because they're cute . One's a rubber maiden , the other's a stumpy dog . How sweet ;)

I have a question for you. Was it really that important to you that this club reach 100 posts? I looked at a lot of your posts that led up to the 100th and you could have combined a lot of those into one single post and not waste the paste? If you was writing a report, you would have wasted a lot of paper. Are you that sporadic in your posts? I know, there are a lot of single liners out there but having several of them in a very few minutes makes it look rather suspicious as if you was trying for something. In my opinion, a great "club" isn't how many posts it has but what is inside of those posts. It is just the same as not how many members but the quality of the members. Simply put, it is the old argument quantity vs. quality. To me, it takes more time scrolling down the screen then to read 3-5 words. It simply isn't worth it.

I believe that both subtitles and dubb aregoodin their own way. Here is why. I like subs( sub-titles) because they give that authentic Japenese animation feeling but......I also like dubb because reading all that doesnt give u that chance to
watch and enjoy the animation nearly as much as u do when it is dubbed. So thats why both are cool

It comes down to personal opinion , whether you are willing to pay full attention to the anime ( hence absorbing the graphics and reading the subtitles) or just listening to the dialogue because the graphics suck carp (Shin Hakkenden comes to mind ... magine trying to write a review for that . I gave up after the third episode)

Me?I'm the first one . The guy who watches the anime with rapt attention and soaks up all the detail . of course normally i already know the gist of the plot , and therefore pay more attention to little details .

I also feel that most english dubbed animes have sucky voices . Although it is fun to tell a small kid that the person doing the hero's voice is a WOMAN!!!

Speaking of which , Ash Ketchum's voice is a lady ;) hahah i guess zapdos is also a girl ...(not the zapdos in our forums , though)

and before you go and say it ... i know carp is a type of expensive fish that my neighbours used to keep ... until the electricity went out and he lost 100k worth of fishies . It's also an anagram of another word .

I usually prefer the original cast over dubs, and that goes for most things as well. The actors chosen for the original voice tracks are usually more involved and thus a better representation of how the character is imagined by the creators. The inflections are often different and some characters attitudes and, though not common anymore, gender (Zoycite was supposedly a gay man in the Japanese Sailor Moon) can change drastically. Some anime i've seen actually sounds better in English. Hellsing for example has predominantly European cast, thus the western seiyuu (voice actors) do a better English accent.
It all really depends on how much effort the company who imported the show put forth casting the English voice overs.
As much as I like the authenticity of subtitles, I get a headache darting my eyes back and forth and don't like missing some minor, but often interesting details cause i'm busy figuring out what the characters are saying. I plan on learning Japanese anyway so one day I won't need them. Also it would just be nice to actually know another language.

To answer a previous topic question. Some of my fav anime's are Fushigu Yugi. Amazing storyline, and very witty, good action too. Gundam Wing is awesome, liked it a lot. Thank you cartoon network for that. And also, G-Gundam is solid aswell. Despite it being very old, I do like DBZ a lot too. Zoids is good aswell.

I perfer original Japanese; but, personally I watch it in both formats (subtitled and dubbed)...I watch them on Dvd and switch the Language formats back and forth.....

The first time is in Japanese and try to concentrate on the plot lines/twists.

Second time is in dubbed English with more attention payed to visual detail.

Also, I've noticed that a lot is lost in the translation from Japanese to English. A sentence in Japanese (w/English subtitles) often varies from it's "duplicate" counterpart in the dubbed version. Subtle sentence structure changes may completely switch the intended meaning of the dialogue adn hence leave the watcher with a different interpretation of the episode than someone else. I gues what I trying to say is that "It's not what you say; but, what people hear".

Perhaps Team Abilities could be done like Big Eyes Small Mouth RPG. By character types i.e.

Devils/Vampires/Dark: Permanent energy drain of some kind but with more limits like only on doubles (instead of knock back heal one click.) Or make a power action and roll to hit reduce to one damage and heal one. (examples: D, Dimtri, Morrigan (both Darkstalkers)

other examples
Magical Girl (Sailor Senshi)
Super Martial Artist (DBZ)
Sentai Member (Gatchaman)
Mech Pilots (Evangelion, Macross)
Faeries/elves/goblins (Deedlit, Record of Lodoss, etc.)

Like Final Fantasy you could include equipment/relic tokens for added effects like
1. Magical Pets (cabbits, magic cats (Luna, Diana,etc.)
2. Certain weapons so the figure didn't HAVE to have a weapon used only on occasion sculpted.
3. Special Training/Power Ups (King Kai-oh training, Heavy Gravity,etc.)

as for manga and anime , it depends . not on individual taste , however , but on whether it was converted from anime or manga .

On one hand , the Gundam Wing anime tells the whole story , which is crammed into 3 books in the manga series .

On the other hand , some parts of Rurouni Kenshin manga are dropped from the anime series . so it just depends on the original version , and whether you're into character development or just plot .

Yea, with RK they didn't turn the revenge arc into the anime. Instead they have some mediocre filler arcs. ARGGG!!!! I would have been a lot happier with the revenge arc.

Speed: Stealth for whole dial , except maybe the first and last click . Consistent values the whole way through .
Attack: Starts with a 9 , progresses to 11 and then drops back down to 8 . (9-10-11-10-9-8-8) Has incapacitate on last click . She has Energy Explosion to compensate for the variety of weapons .
Defense: Ahhh . What makes Motoko click(pun intended) . Super Senses(3) followed by Willpower(3) and a last click of regeneration(jury-rig)
Damage: Consistent damage the whole way , starting at 3 and ending with a dip at 1 .Here's the problem . Motoko can have virtually any damage SE in the rulebook , except for PC . How are we supposed to represent this ? Make a REV version as well ;)

Manga and anime are both great. I like some animes better then the mangas and vise versa. Cowboy Bebop the Anime is really good but the manga isnt quite as good. Some MAngas are better then the Animes too. It all depends. At least thats what I think.

personally love both.....but really miss the days when anime wasn't so mainstream. Remember when you could get dazed and confused looks from your friends when you tried to explain to them the new show you had discovered........and <gasp> it was in Japanese with subtitles.

I like most of the "kid-geared" anime I've seen except for a few, Ultimate Muscle make me want to vomit in terror. I like Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh (god thats an annoying name to type) Never seen Hamtaro, Hello Kitty's the shat though! Sailor Moon was and still is one of my favorites (sentimental, it was the first anime I watched on regular basis) which is completely different in Japan, the uncut DVD's are rated mature. I like the "kawaii" or cute anime though.

On a side note I received the Vampire Savior (Darkstalkers) Gashapon figures (UFO catcher/vending machine toys) yesterday, they ROCK! My god these are vending machine toys in Japan? Amazing doesn't begin to describe them. I'm starting to collect them, I would definately recommend them to anime fans as there are Gashapon for every imaginable show/video game including hentai (if you can imagine that) just search online for Gashapon or easier on Ebay to see a good selection of available sets. Cowboy Bebop ones are cool.

As you can see I'm not in Asia. Sorry if I seem overly amazed, but here in America, vending machine toys are total #### made almost to rip off kids (the displays are lousy with stuff in them you couldn't possibly get, and garbage in them. I LOVE kiddie Anime. Hamtaro rocks baby!!! (Eventhough Ive watched countless episodes, I still cant remember all their names!!!) Also I like Yu-Gi-Oh, POkemon, Bay Blades(those are fun in real life too), I guess DBZ cause it is directed at kids, Sailor Moon, Cardcaptors. But Im sorry but I dont like Kirby. Man that show is Horrible. I dont like most of Fox's Animes anyway.

oh and as for kiddie anime ... i have to admit it can get unbearably cheesy ... and i sometimes cringe at the squeaky voices , but i still watch it. If only because of my brother and sister , who are still in their pre-teens

I do play some games , though . Completed the whole of Digimon 3 on PS , all the Pokemon games , didn't quite like medabots (though the show was good) and totally disliked Hamtaro's games . I guess being a cat person , i kinda relish the idea of my cat eating up all the hamsters . Not that she hasn't already done that ......

Which anime ranks as the worst you've ever seen?
I'll nominate Shin Hakkenden . Story starts of as good , but the graphics are an immediate throw-off . Too many characters , no development , a cheesy plot , a talking dog (?) and a lead boy who looks like a girl (although that IS in the plot)
The only redeeming quality of the anime are the opening and closing theme . If you want adventure and sci-fi , go watch El-Hazard , Saiyuki and Eden's Bowy .

On kiddie anime, I must confess a fondness for Yu-Gi-Oh, purely because some of those creatures look insanely cool. Digimon wasn't bad either. Beyblade and Pokemon made me sick.

If anyone wants them I have the power lists and stats for pretty much any Sailor Moon character. Just request it and i'll post. For instance:
Tuxedo Mask:
Rose Throw : requires one or more roses (duh)
can target up tp 6 opponents. stop or negate any physical or energy based attack, cut through physical restraints, prevent the target from taking any action temporarily, knock any object from someones' grasp.

Emotion control: inspire hope (his realm of influence, all knights have an emotion as power source/ Senshi have an element ie Mercury=water)

Cane: extend (20'+) act as shield in close combat.

Cape: light armor

Knight Armor: Only for Prince Darien not TM

Powered after transformation (like all the main SM characters who would all be "activation" figures)

These are just a few things that would or could affect his figures stats. Defense for instance would be appropriate.

Note* Source: The Sailor Moon Role-Playing Game and Resource Book published by Guardians of Order.
THE best resource book on SM in english in my oppinion.

Thats quite true EVIL CAP, Sailor Moon is considered mature rated when not butchered by export censorship, due to homosexuality and other "adult themes". A few Pokemon episodes never made it to the states (like the bikini contest where James puts on a blow up bikini and competes with women. Or "Electric Warrior Porygon" (the seizure incident episode) Or Dragonball Z's fear of blood and the word "hell".
(Good thing they didn't realise or care to check what the back of Piccolo's uniform said :))
Yugioh's odd use of the word "fruit juice" for wine (while stealing souls is common place:rolleyes:
etc.

Depends,

Big Eyes, Small Mouth RPG by Guardians of Order- Good system, great representation of anime style. Great source books for their licensed stuff like Hellsing, and Trigun, and Sailor Moon as well as several others.

Dragonball Z
The RPG by R. Talsorian Games is ok, system is a little on the simple side.
The video games, of which i've played almost all of including the imports on an emulator. The only one I still actually own is the fantastic DBZ: Hyper Dimension for Super Famicom (SNES) which I bought along with the rather unimpressive Sailor Moon Super S.
I HATE the new DBZ games by the worst (in my opinion) licensing #####s Infogrames. They ruined DBZ in my opinion.
The CCG by Score is good, but I hate Score as they are cheap and have terrible sales practice (countless people have quite because of the deck buying method Score admits to using as an easy way to make money.

Ranma 1/2 Hard Battle (SNES)- was fun, simple but fun.

Animayhem CCG was lousy, great concept (many different anime series sharing one CCG. but played badly. Died after three sets.

.Hack- is addictive, and fun. Expensive as they are small games going for 50 bucks and come out every three months.

Pokemon- I like the GameBoy games and the CCG, I really don't like the other games all that much, the new ones for GC look pretty lousy like the one where you watch Pikachu watch TV.

YuGiOh- for the most part has lousy video games with the exception of the newer ones. The PS1 game is impossible without a Game Shark,etc. The CCG is great, but the #### boosters get jacked up to $10.00 sometimes. The three god cards go for $109.00! for three cards! No thanks. Cant afford it anymore.

Never played Yu Yu Hakusho, I really want to play the Vampire Savior Trading Card Game but it's in Japanese.

Games ? Anime games ? I'm a dice-chucker , and a card-flopper , and i also like to push buttons :) so all games are fun to play ...... at least for the first few minutes . Having completed the whole Pokemon series on Gameboy , it was fun , addictive (stupid Feebas!) , and a whole waste of time . Zelda was better ... Link is anime , right ? wrong ?

Does anime games include beyblade ? It was fun playing with spinning tops ... but in Malaysia , where we have imitations , the retailers make extra heavy metal discs . Not complaining , but some kids have got cut when the huge impact sent their beyblades spinning into their legs .

what else is anime ? DBZ ( didn't play much , but have the entire Chinese version manga somewhere at home ...

I don't know if anyones seen this but in Japan a new Hellsing DVD boxed set limited edition has been released. It contains in collector's box 4 discs in Japanese with English and Chinese sub's and, get this two resin replicas of Alucard's pistols! No moving parts but they look awesome, 32cm long and the "Jesus Christ is in Heaven Now" black longslide is 550g. in weight and the silver Hellsing Arms Auto is 700g.

I've played the .hack video games, but not .hack//enemy the CCG, its sounds cool. When you play in tourneys you get experience when you get 1000 xp you send in for a "level up package" with new foil cards to power up your deck.

Hellsing and Bebop definetely. Trigun, Lodoss and Slayers would also be fun, and I throw Berserk in there as well. Dragonball characters are just too over the top in power terms IMHO.

Evangelion (all hail!) would be too much even for a MW style game for many reasons, chief among them is AT Fields. How fricking tough would that make hurting any of them? But a few Gundams and Transformers (old style, not frickin' Armada) running around would be great.

Cool list though. And we already have all the female Love Hina characters in that GRUD-D@MNED HOOKER! Like you said.

Street Fighter and Vampire Savior might get made if Boneyard's Capcom clix idea goes through. But I'm a little hesitant in including Transformers b/c even though they have some shows only for japan, they're mostly an American property Oh yeah, left my list at home, so I probably won't have any figs today. Also, just my opinion, but NO POKEMON, DIGIMON, MONSTER RANCHER, OR ANY OTHER SHOWS INVOLVING TRAINING CUTE MONSTER INTO BIG MONSTERS!!!

Boneyard's done it, I've done it, someone else has done it. Not a new idea, but the fact that so many people have had it shows that there is support. This could be the best thing to come out from the MvC games.

no, he used to work at Capcom until he quit Thursday. When heroclix first came out, he noticed the figs were based on the costumes from Marvel vs. Capcom and bugged the licensing girl until she said she'd look into the idea. Wizkids said they were filled up for the next 2 years, and this happened last year. Before he left, I think he said they said they were looking further into the idea. He has a thread about it in the rumor mill. oh, and I found my book, so here's 5 more;
