I want to change my answer about old shows coming back to X-Men: Evolution.

Apparently, today's episode is quite possibly the final episode. Which would suck. When asked about it in another thread (and looking for info about it), here's what I've typed over there. I suggest to everyone here at the Cartoon Clan to follow the instructions at the end. :(

"From what I understand, this MIGHT be the end of X-Men: Evolution. After watching the episode (which was very, very awesome), I think it's meant to be a make or break situation. I always thought X-Men: E was doing pretty good in the ratings, but apparently not, and this was the final shot. Soooo, here's the rumors I've been hearing (as of now, so it's probably waaaaay too soon to take any of them too seriously):

1. X-Men: Evolution is cancelled. Plain and Simple (which would suck, but seems the most likely).

2. X-Men: Evolution is still on the air (as evidenced that at the end of each season, there's some HUGE speach about mutants being people too. Plus, there are storylines that haven't been finished yet. And we can't forget the fact that Superheroes and Comic Books are the hot thing right now).

3. X-Men: Evolution has been cancelled, but a new X-Men toon where they are adults will premiere (could happen, with this being a preview of sorts).

4. X-Men: Evolution has been cancelled, but an Ultimate X-Men 'toon will premiere (another that COULD happen, seeing Marvel's recent popularity with it's Ultimate lines. But I doubt this one because X-Men Evolution and Ultimate X-Men are too closely related to try).

But again, personally, I hope that it's NOT cancelled.

Then again, if it is, there are ways to get to back on the air.
DO NOT go and make an online petition. Most companies don't take that kind of thing seriously. You (and I) are better off taking one of or both of the following routes:

1. Email the head of WB Programming directly (or as close as you can), asking and/or demanding that it come back. If enough people do this, they are forced to at least give us reasons for it's cancellation or to even bring it back due to popularity.

2. Normally mail the same thing. Using the normal mail is a way to show them the same thing through a different (and unexpected, since everyone uses email) route that HAS to be noticed.

I'm already writing my email AND snail mail letters as we speak!!"

3. Hong Kong Phooey: "I think I'd trust Tick the most, here's why, I suspect the giant car's alliance lyes with other than that of goodness, and the duck, well, we all know he has a wild side, and Brak's a good guy, but Tick and I seem to be the only ones who read the same book...of Justice!"

4. Hot Rod: "I'd gladly keep around the big blue bug, as he would be the coolest driver of the rest, if he so choosed to do so. I'd be a tad afraid of having Brak at the helm. I think he'd just talk my tires off and make me want to transform with him still in the driver's seat."

5. The Tick: "As A hero, allies must always be fellow heroes. as i look around the crowd (and with much advice from arthur) there are two who can follow the narrow path of goodness.

the first is that Hong Kong Phooey fellow. he seems to stand for cleanliness.....after all he changes in his mop bucket. and the other is Daffy Duck (arthur tells me he has an alternate identity of duck dodgers......in the 24th 1/2 century)

But if i had to choose between the two who to trust....I Choose Hong Kong Phooey the #1 Super guy. perhaps he can join myself, der fledermouse and american maid for a glass of warm milk at the clubhouse when this is done."

There's been some great Halloween cartoons over the years.

As much as I'd like to say the Simpsons: Treehouse of Horrors episodes, they've seem (at least to me) to be getting worse and worse with each one they make.

And c'mon, they air in November now, due to Fox. :)

And the Garfield one is awesome too! But the Christmas one is so much better, that it leaves me disappointed.


My vote: It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown!! There's too many classic moments, costumes, dog dances, and the best line ever in a Halloween 'toon.

When I think of Halloween cartoons, the one I look forward to each year is Charlie Brown and the Great Pumpkin. I can't really think of any other Halloween specific ones. There is some episodes of current running cartoons that have special episodes for the Holidays as well like Simpsons. I think I remember X-Men:Evolution having one or two episodes that dealt with Halloween. I think out of those I still prefer the original Ghostbusters and Sam Heim(punpkin head) episodes.

Dj_Sha, I do beleive that the Simpson's does premeire Sun. and what I saw was the simpsons flyin around with a rocket instead of legs...we'll just have to wait and see. And, good, no, great news, MTV has made a public announcement that they aquired the rights to Family Guy! Apparently they aquired them a while ago, before the VMAs, where they had a short of Stewie giving his oppinion on various artists, and then announcing his cannidacy for California Govna', guess we'll have to see what MTV decides to do with it...out for now.

I think the best Simpson Halloween short is where Homer gets the time travelling toaster and the Bradbury-esque "changing of the present" each time he travels back.

Well, It's halloween, I'm not going trick-or-treating, which makes me sad, I'll probably have to sit through Radio with my girlfriend, now, while radio does look to be good, its also going to be sad...today is supposed to be a day of fun, not of sadness, oh well, bein with my girlfriend will make me happy...I just bored all of you to death huh?

Well, don't go joining the dead yet, I've got a written review of Kid Notorious, and two discussions to give you! So sit down fasten in, and get ready to...read...*slaps forhead*

Reveiw: Kid Notorious; Rating: 4 and 1/2 stars (outta five)
First let me say, this show holds nothing back, when they say no one is safe, they mean it, In the hip hop to godfather episode, they make fun of Big name stars, then go towards Bloods and Crypts, not an easy subject to cover without being shot. In the second episode, they hold no expense making the entire episode about soup, which guest stars Slash, one of the greatest guitarists of all time, having a passionate affair with Robert Evan's obese maid/cook. In this episode, Evan's tricks the head of a movie studio to go to the top of an icy mountain to find yaks for Slash's soup, both episodes were great, but let me tell you about Evan's cat Puss, he really steals the show, in the first one,he joins a gang, and beats Evan's Butler, English silly throughout the episode, and finishes the episode off pulling out a baggie of pot to smoke with a wounded Evan's. And even better in the second episode, he continues his abuse of English by skating around him while he trapped from the shoulders down in snow, then if that wasn't enough, he jumps over him, farts (which freezes mid-air) and the then cracks it over his head. Brilliant. All in all, I have successfully spoiled the show for you, but lemme tell you, this is a show that'll leave you in stitches begging for more.

Personally, I hated Kid Notorious. I thought the plot was boring and a bit too much trying to be like a mix of South Park and Family Guy. The animation was cruddy and the dialogue seemed a bit forced.

If this is Robert Evans' life, he should keep it to himself. 1/2 Star out of 5.

As for the Halloween question, I have indeed dressed as a cartoon character!! A couple in fact!!

Which Green Ranger are you talking about? Sadly, I have tried my best to keep up with the Power Rangers from the get go. I remember most of the zords and about 70% of the rangers. My guess on the Green Ranger you are talking about is the one by the name of Tommy who later became the White Ranger and another version of the Red Ranger. Personally, Tommy was always my favorite one.

I can honestly say there was only two parts of Power Rangers that I enjoyed: The (original) Green Ranger Saga and the White Ranger Saga. I just can't enjoy any of the episodes since then.

Both of the final characters left standing in Survivor: Gilligan's Planet have answered the final question. And here's their responses:

1. Hong Kong Phooey:
"Why I beleive the Tick should easily win, an always vigilant hero, he is a model citizen, and an even better super-hero, I saw him as the big brother of this little cast-away clan, all he wanted was to protect (and I bet a little wanted to win, but then again, who didn't) I'm surprised I made it this far, I bet the final rounds wouldn't even contain me, if the people who didn't respond had in fact decided to. I digress, The Tick should win because he has the heart for it, why he has enough heart for this enire island, and Australia. To Tick, we may go our seperate ways after this contest, but from one super-hero to another, I had one helluva time,so heres to truth, Justice, and keeping the peace! Your the greatest man!"

I don't know about you all, but I think CyberVenom has done a very nice job of handling this game. He was able to deal with a lot of the problems that came up and work through some of the bugs that was expected for being the first time through. I congradulate him on a job well done especially since he is busy with other stuff here at HCRealms and his real life. There were times that he probably wished he didn't volunteer especially when the person playing slimer had a problem of being booted.

I've had a blast doing Cartoon Survivor and there wasn't 1 time that I wanted to quit heading it.

I want to thank all the players and everyone who read it. Without you, there wouldn't even be a game.

There's a person that helped me out when I needed him to take over as a character (which will be revealed after the game is over) that I'd like to give a special thanks to as well. Gacy's Clown: Ninja Extraordinaire to the rescue!

Before I reveal which character I was, let me say that I had great fun leading this, and I'm also here to announce that I won't be running the second season (if there even is one). If you was paying attention to the game, there were some characters that got ganged up on. To keep that form happening, maybe we should have teams like the true Survivor. We could do the hero vs villian thing unless someone has a more creative idea. We just have to be careful that no one feels like we are discriminating against them. I haven't yet came up for a theme but a change of pace would be good.

In other good news, I have got the go ahead for another Survivor, it will be much along the lines of the original one, pick whatever cartoon character you want, as long as its not the same one from last time, or someone hasn't claimed it. There will also be seperate teams that will have to work together as a team in order to not get voted off, but NO IMMUNITY, no one is safe! Some trivia will be involved. Not a whole lot though, some people may be compelled to cheat. So send in your requests for your game name, only 20 people will be allowed in. But I'm guessing alot of you wont reply, so there probably wont be 20 spaces, and, all I can tell you is that it will be space themed. Send in your PM's now! Until later I'm out.

I'll be seeing Looney Tunes: Back in Action, because I love the Looney Tunes!! They're a good excuse to stay up late watching Cartoon Network. :grin: And my favorite Looney Tune is Bugs Bunny, by far. He's just so clever, ya gotta love him.


Now, another question to answer along with the Looney Toons question above: What is the worst super-hero themed cartoon you have ever seen?

I have a tape with a Captain America cartoon where the "animation" consists of still drawings that just kind of slide around, without the characters moving at all!! Their mouthes don't even move when they talk! It's quite possibly the cheapest thing I've ever seen. And the stories were horrible, too.

They had a plot in submariner where Dr. Doom threw the X-men's building into space and Supmariner saved them...and Hawkeye was there for some reason...and some Nazis were talking on a truck quickly for one scene and then Captain America showed up...I've never been so confused...

Survivor 2 Update!

Good news, all good news! First, we have seventeen players! While thats good, its also bad, we need one more to make the team system sumowrestler and I are ironing out work better, and let this thing run a little more smoothly. So, if any of you know someone who can play, throw them into the mix! Or better yet, there are still several people in this clan who haven't joined! All we need is one more people, we can do this! And, its time for a survivor sneak peek! Last time I gave an update, I was careful to keep everything about this close to my chest, only telling you it'd be space-themed, well, this season will be Thundercat themed! Yes, we'll be reporting from Planet Thunderia, where if you guys kept to Thundercats, you'll know, that mid-season we'll have a twist for ya guys, until later, I'm out.

Hey everyone!! I got some time this weekend to browse a little online to keep a check up on what's happenening!

The new season of Survivor looks like it's gonna be awesome!! And there's 2 Smurfs?!?!?

I can't Smurfing believe it!!! Good luck and I hope it runs smoothly! :)

As the questions at hand:

I probably will see Looney Tunes: Back in Action.

Whoops. I saw it the first time, when it was called Who Framed Roger Rabbit? and the sequal: Space Jam.

I've got a feeling that this new movie is going to be pretty bad. Not only have the newer animators, plotters, writers, directors and voice actors (for the most part) not been able to capture the true essence of the Warner Bros. style like the older 'toons, but with today's growing worries about being Politically Correct "for the children's sake", classic characters like Porky Pig ("Oh no! They're making fun of obese people and stutterers!") and/or Speedy Gonzales ("Oh no! It's a Mexican mouse! That MUST be a racial sterotype!") can never be what they once were.

This also doesn't even touch on my feelings about how "children's" cartoons, such as LT: BiA, have waaaay too many adult references and jokes in them. :)

As for my favorite Looney Tunes character, there's so many great ones. Of the mainstream grouping, I'd have to go with Daffy Duck, if for Duck Amok alone. But then again, Taz is the most like myself. So I'll say a tie between those two.

Non-mainstream, I'll have to go with my mother's favorite character: Pete the Puma. That guy was hilarious!!! LOL!!!

On to the other subject! That being the worst Superhero cartoon out there.

This is my forte, so I'll be bringing the nastiness with this!

If we are talking Superheroes en masse, including those that aren't in comic books, I'll have to go with Hammerman.

Here's the premise: MC Hammer lives in his hometown of Oakland, when thugs attack!!! So he does what any baggy pantsed pop rapper would do: Turn into Hammerman, using his dancing and rapping as attacks on evil doers everwhere!!

But if we are talking strictly comic book superheroes, I have to disagree about Captain America being bad. We have to remember the time period that is came out in. Unless I'm mistaken, Captain America's first 'toon (along with the Incredible Hulk) came out in the early to mid 60's, when cartoons where just starting to hit their stride and trying new techniques. Personally, I think the idea of trying to make the cartoon as close to the comic as possible (most cels matched up identically with it's comic panel counter-part!) was a brilliant concept that just didn't catch on.

But it's hard to choose what's the worst of the bunch.

There's the new animated Spider-Man on MTV, which is based on the equally horrid movie. Ruining great comic characters and having them voiced by music's "hottest" artists can't be made better just by making the show 3D (with even more bad results).

And just to make you feel even more queesy: The Season 1 DVD drops January 20th!

Is that the worst? No.

What about Avengers: United They Stand? I would love to have been in THAT meeting!
"All the comic fans have been cheering for an Avengers 'toon. Let's give it to them!"

"Great idea. But let's remove Iron Man, Captain America, and Thor. Those guys are just taking up space, y'know."

"I agree. Hmmm....these costumes don't look good enough. Let's put them in the 'near' future so we can update them."

But even that. That HAS to be the worst ever, right???

I have to give that nod to Spider-Man Unlimited.

Premesis: John Jameson is an astronaut looking for "Counter-Earth", and finds it, but doesn't come back. Who else, but Spider-Man has to make his way to find him! Watch out Spidey, because the apparently skeletal Venom and Carnage symbiotes are going too!! And they are working together for no coherant reasoning!! But it's all good, you can just get a new, nano-techno suit (that looks and feels a whole heckuva lot like Batman Beyond) that will save you!! But more trouble comes when you find out in Counter-Earth that your ship is stolen and the world is taken over by the High Evolutionary! It looks good when you find John, but then the kicker happens: We has to stay and lead the underground rebel forces!

All this, and a big bucket of suck equal the worst superhero cartoon in history!!!

Whoooooa! Dead Thread! Gotta get things going again before it dies permanently! AS far as S2 goes, Sumo_wrestler kinda messed things up, and confused you guys, beacause about 4-5 of you have replied to the first vote off. But don't go entirely blaming Sumo_wrestler! Whoooooa! Dead Thread! Gotta get things going again before it dies permanently! AS far as S2 goes, Sumo_wrestler kinda messed things up, and confused you guys, beacause about 4-5 of you have replied to the first vote off. But don't go entirely blaming Sumo_wrestler! It was my fault to, the team system was loosely put togetther, and it confused alot of people, so like I said earlier, doing away with it, everyone's on one team, and Ill PM the rest of he people who haven't Pmed thier replys so they can have a chance to stay in the game. If any of you have a question, PM me with S2 QUESTION in the header, and I'll do my best to answer it as fast as it can. As always, I'll leave you with a discussion.

Well I don't know if any one will know this one. Its an very old 80's anime called Yunko and the Island of Magic. This movie brings back so many childhood memories. I keep trying to get my girlfriend to watch it with me but she never goes for it. I know she would like it if she gave it a chance. Same with Lilo and Stich. A group of bandits have been watching the two groups since they arrived on the planet. They see that the groups are still somewhat disorganized and are getting ready to attack. You see them coming at you. What do you do?

And here are the answers (No particular order)

Peter Griffin-- "If bandits were to attack the planet, I would get the A.N.N.A. battlesuit from my production "The King and I", and kick the #### out those guys! I can see it now. Blam. Boom. Ka-pow! One by one I would kick all the badguys in their jewels!"

Brainy Smurf-- "First I would smurf myself together and then try to out smurf the evil doers with my snurfperior brain. Here how it would smurf out. I would show them a smurf cut to the other tribes village. Then I would smurf the other tribe about the smurfing danger there in with my new smurf fone that I smurfed out of old junk i smurfed out of the Thunderain cruiser that smurfed here. Meanwhile the villains are smurfed in the jungle off of the smurfed up directions I gave. Then both tribe would smurf a trap that your truly smurfed up. Thus smurfing the would be bad guys with the smurf ray also built out of old Thunderain junk. Who says Panthro is the only one with all the smurfin ideas."

Speed Racer--"now this is something i can handle. why many times in my races groups of thugs and bandits and evil racers would try and stop me and the mach-5, and always we won.

what i would do is get in the mach 5, and send the bird spy camera up so i could see where they were. then i would make the tires grip the ground better with the mach 5's special tires. then id jump to the bandits using the mach 5's jumping powers. and then id pop out the mach 5's special saw blades and chase them away. noone would really get hurt though cause i dont do things like that."
Ed-- "I would give them butter toast"

Thing (F4)--"If there was a group 'a bandits comin' after alla us castaways, dey'ed have ta be crazy palookas. But I know what I'd do to 'em if dey did get da bright idea 'a robbin us. I'll give ya a clue. "It's clobberin' time!!!" And dat's all I have to say about dat."

Snake Eyes--"I, Snake Eyes, would jump into the bushes and begin to approach them. At the same time I would type up a message to send back to inform my comrades of the enemies location. I would then spy on the enemy until I've found out their plans. When enough of my comrades were in position, we would get the jump on them. Then I would hack and slash and flip out on as many of the enemies as possible. And also leave no man behind in the battle."



Shaggy--"Like, bandits?!? (Gulp) I'd, well, ruuuunnnnnnnn!!!!!!!!"

Space Ghost--"Bandits? I'd switch on my Inviso-field, and sneak up on then, and then BAM! I'd use my hypno force will power function on my power bands, and force them to do grunt work on the set of my Talk show, I mean, c'mon Moltar really does need a vacation, and Zorak is getting crabby."

It's not a specific Christmas character, but I remember a few years ago on Cartoon Network they had this show called "Twelve Tiny Christmas Tales." All written and animated by Bill Plympton. They were needless to say charming yet bizzare. I've never seen it since then which is a drag, because I'd love to have it be a yearly tradition.

Okay, I know we're all still waiting for Survivor results, so I'm gonna post a question to give everyone something to talk about on this thread. It's lack of activity was starting to depress me.

If you could have any ONE ISSUE of any COMIC animated, what issue would it be and why?

In the spirit of Christmas, I'm going to have to cast my vote for the Lobo Paramilitary Christmas Special. This ultra violent killfest centers around the Easter Bunny hiring the Main Man to off Jolly Old Saint Nick, because Santa is so much more popular than he. Not only does Lobo go after Santa (who is a slave driving hard ***), he also sets his sites on the elves and eight tiny reindeer. The story is original, violent, and you'll never think of the holidays again. As an R rated direct-to-video cartoon, this holiday tale would be one every blood thirsty fan should add to their collection.

And as for those Family guy shirts, I got that Sweatshirt from there, when I went to pick up my overly-ridiculously priced Dropkick Murphys Shirt, and my Pirate Wallet. What it means, is that FG is gearing up for its return next year or the one after.

What show do you feel was cancelled too early, maybe in its prime? And what would you do to get it back? Me, I have two. the First being Sam and Max, it followed a crimesolving dog and rabbit who loved some kind of pastries, it was on a good 5-6 years ago, and the month or so it was on, I didn't miss a show, and the other, was Clerks, ran for 2 episodes on Abc. I have the DvD of it, with the 6 episodes that they had completed, brilliant. Just brilliant. Anyone who saw these episodes will know this Classic line: "Your a fag." And just what would I do to get this show back? why I'd hold the head execs. at ABC up with a sharpened poolstick, thats what I'd do.

Easily, Clerks. The second episode was hilerous. A clip show of a series with one previous show. "Randal that just last week, again...".
Personally, favorite though, was the jury episode.
"Dante is just like you. He LOVES grape soda, and he knows what it's like to wait for your WELFARE CHECK. Hey, yo. Hey, yo. I rest my case, your honor." Funniest show ever. Of course, they were gonna get cancelled. But, still have the DVD's!

And as far as the open floor goes.... Has anyone else seen the Garfield trailer? I saw it last night before Cheaper by the Dozen. The Garfield animation is (IMO) of slightly better quality than Scooby Doo. Odie is a real dog, and Jennifer Love Hewitt is hot as ever as the veterinarian (Joan, I think is her name). The story wasn't really hinted at, the trailer mostly showed Garfield doing what he usually does, abusing John and Odie. I'm skeptical of the movie, but I'm really hoping it'll be good. Or at least better than Scooby Doo.

From what I've found out so far, It is featuring massive voice talent for its stars, including;Of course, Bill Murray as Garfield, Debra Messing as Arlene, Brad Garret as Luca the Doberman, Alan Cumming as Persnikitty, and other talents featuring Jimmy Kimmel, Nick Cannon, David Eigenberg, and Mo'nique. I'll keep you updated on this as more comes my way, but until more, andwhen we get more replies to the next game, I'll leave you with a discussion...

CGI is being used more and more for our favorite cartoons, how long do you believe it'll take for there to be a complete transition to CGI? Or will there? Give us your opinion.

Trivia. As far as CGI...dump it. Its cool in video games but then when you see a cell shaded game like Viewtifull Joe and XIII your like Keanue Reeves in the FIRST and GOOD Matrix. The CGI Gundam looks like c rap and from the few episodes I saw the story is c rap too. I'm not sure where this rant is going but its going to end with please don't let the cartoon makers get all 21st century on us and abandon the good ol' days of drawing.
PS Toy Story 1 and 2 rock along with Finding Nemo so they all don't s uck. just the half ### done ones.

Ok, Hellboy19 and I have been talking back and forth for quite a while now to launch some ideas to get this thread back on its feet. So, to start, we'll be doing what you guys requested, Cartoon Trivia! You don't necessarily have to be in the clan to play, but try and keep things timely as to avoid being kicked out of the game. Now, heres the rules, exactly as Hellboy19 sent them to me (except where I tied up some loose ends;)):

CARTOON TRIVIA!

Rules:

The game consists of ten rounds, each round consisting of three questions. The questions are valued at 5, 7, and 10 points, the questions getting harder the higher their points are. Players have 48 hours to PM their answers at which point their points will be tallied and the player with the least points is kicked off. In the event of a tie, players will be asked to submit a bit of cartoon trivia. The player with the least well known submission will be kicked out! If alot of players still exist after a a few rounds, players will start being kicked off.
Of course any good game has prizes, which will be reveiled mid-game. You can join at any point in the game, but its best to start at the beginning to keep your score up. Feel free to answer 1,2, or all 3 questions, it just depends on how many points you want. The only thing we ask of you, is that you don't cheat, try to answer them all from your head, its just not fair to the other players. Lots of game related stuff will be posted throughout, so check in constantly to keep up with the rules and additions.

Before we start, I've gotta give crazy thanks to Hellboy19, he's just a cartoon genius, Hellboy19, you ####ing rule!

But, seriously, I appreciate your enthusiasm for cartoons, but this thread had been long since...'retired' due to lackluster posters, and several big mistakes on my part. However, if people can find a way to get this thread back on its feet, the name of Sonic is as good as yours.
