Hi guys!

It's me, alstaire. Long time no see. Been pretty busy these days. I haven't been to atourney in months. So when's the next major tourney going to be?

Im actually remotely interested in this LOTR miniatures game.. are they painted already? How are they sold? In starters and boosters din? How much?

LOTR comes with prepainted figs and randomly on booster packs. The starter pack is already pre-constructed with Aragorn and Frodo plus a Ringwraith and a weaker version of Lurtz. You'll find better versions in booster packs. You might need the starter though for maps, dice and Frodo with the one ring version.

Gatx,

Iba sa heroclix yung game. Its hard to explain the rules here but in summary, the rules favor the use of larger armies. However, the special abilities of the figures are also somewhat akin to that of heroclix. Meron din silang versions of running shot, HSS, toughness, L/C, etc. kaya if you start playing LOTR with some clix background, madaling mag adapt!

Saya ng demo namin ni BACE kahapon sa prancing. We did a 1000 points battle with Isengard vs. the High Elves. Might go to G2 this wed to play LOTR and heroclix. Kita-kita tayo dun!

Basta ako badminton muna hanggang paglabas ng Unleashed! Want to get into that game but I want to reagin my health first so I'd much rather play sports to condition myself. Herri laro na tayo ng badminton may court dito sa Ortigas pwede magpareserve. Pangpapayat din tsaka maraming tsiks from corporate companies that are playing. hehe.....

Hey Elliot,

I think I've finally solved the mystery of your mysterious bannings. The thing is that recently I've fallen victim to the same stange occurences. I bet you are using an ISP that doesn't assign you a fixed IP adress. All you have to do is disconnect and reconnect again so that the ISP assigns you a new IP adress, this time hopefully one that isn't banned by HCRealms. ;)

I know it's a bit annoyng, especially if you are using some of the more popular dial-up or prepaid card ISPs (sometimes it takes me more than 30 minutes just to connect) but at least it's nothing you have to really worry about.

Saturday tournaments at NG G2 are usually handled by Bon (sometimes Chuck).

It's usually 400 pts. pure universe. generics may be mixed except that you can only have one of each kind of generic. the rule of three is being applied.

If you want to have scenarios for the tourneys, I'd suggest discussing it with Bon.

The first is the Silver Surfer as the Herald of Galactus. The perfect compliment to Big Purple, Silver Surfer is 200 points and also has the Power Cosmic team ability. He starts off quick with a speed of 12, and slows down after a couple of hits as his damage hops up to 4 with an attack of 11 and a nice dose of Impervious. Even though he’s Galactus’ thrall, this Surfer still plays well with others, and gains Support and Regeneration near the end of his dial – roll correctly, and you’ll Regenerate right to the sweet spot. Of course, the Power Cosmic means those pesky Outwitters won’t bother the Surfer, either. We’ve rounded off the new Norrin with a coat of shiny, chrome-silver paint, making him literally sparkle in Galactus’ shadow.
Sa inyo na lang si Galactus. Akin na lang si Surfer. :P

Fired an email na nga to ask kung makakapunta sya. :) Here's hoping....

For the record, I want Galactus, Surfer LE and Inv Woman LE.

The only disappointment for the Power Cosmic ability is if it cannot be copied by wildcards. But if able to do so, I'm sure Herri will use that Surfer and Dr. Doom Vet together and fight off Edmond's Amazo and KC Superman. Go Marvel!

These days if we start at *cough*exactly*cough* 1 pm. We finish around 5 latest 6.
mabilis nanaman ngayon kasi timed na yung each tournament round. Di na 12 turns ginagamit.

MAgandang idea din yun a. puwede natin gawin parang trophy yung galactus. Siguro on a per mnth basis....kung sino maging champion sa specific tourney or manalo sa scenario with galactus ang maguuwi kay galactus for a whole month (or week...depende sa usapan. hehehe).

Galactus? Mukhang imposibleng makakita ako niyan... Surfer din, so ang talagang naka-affect sakin sa news ay yung Power Cosmic... Naku, Power Cosmic... Ang rumor kasi street level lang yung next Marvel Expansion, so kung tama yung rumor baka konti (or wala) lang yung figs na may Power Cosmic...

Still, it opens up a lot of possibilities... Do I hear new versions of Thanos, Adam Warlock and Surfer (sana naman, baka last na yung Surfer LE na yun :( )? Is Cosmic Spidey a possibility? Wow, kung magkakaron ng Cosmic Spidey dapat may Hypersonic Speed (power cosmic + Spidey's natural agility, dapat talaga meron siya nito), super strength, invulnerability tsaka damage of 3 or 4! Woohoo! Un-Outwittable HSS!! Ah, panaghinip nga naman...

I believe may balance na ulit yung Marvel and DC, although pag labas ng Unleashed I'm sure mukhang kawawa ang mga Marvel teams hehehe...

Galactus is rumored to be 600 points at his lowest clix so we can actually have 3 perplexers, Amazo and KC Superman in our team to reach that number. I think its more than equal.:p

;) sinabi ko lang na kung titirahin mo mga marvel players for using the con artist, dapat ipakita mo sa kanila na kaya mo manalo ng hindi ginagamit yung tactics na yon.

Kung gagamitin mo line of reasoning na yung 3x perplexer mo ay tutulong lang sa pag-abot mo sa 21 defense ni Galactus, de puwede ko rin sabihin na yung 3x na con artist or perplexer ng marvel puwede ko gamitin para tulungan ako against Amazo or OWAW.

If the DC perplexers were made with those points for a reason, then the Marvel Con artists were also made with those points for a reason.

Also take into consideration that DC was the one that introduced perplex. Kung di dahil sa DC wala tayong perplex.

I am not being pro-Marvel or pro-DC here. Alam niyo naman na ginagamit ko pareho (only rule ko lang dapat laging may Spider-Man, Batman or Superman team ko). Para sa kin patas ang 2 universe (yes mahina ang Indy). Kahit sabihin mong paglabas ng Unleashed, patas pa rin yan. Bottomline lang sa kin, kung titirahin mo isang universe, siguraduhin mong di ka matitira along the same lines. :laugh:

In actuality, both Universe are the same. It may not be on the each aspect....but there is a Balance.

If marvel has con artist.... there are cheap perplexers on the other side. If there is a batman TA....now there is Cosmic TA. If you look at it..... it still the same ball game... except for indy ofcourse... Lugi talaga sila. ;)

From here on I propose to our judges on having the wrestlemania equilavent of heroclix, "Clixmania: ARMAGEDDON!". Eto yung magandang rules:

There will be a DC team and a Marvel team (at least four players each). Depending on how many players, a DC player will only play a Marvel player and vice-versa per round. Total points of each faction after a certain number of rounds will decide the winning side! All players of winning faction gets an LE3, top player of winning side gets an LE5! Losers get NOTHING!

As an added stipulation, losers must call the winners daddy for the rest of the month.

And in this tournament, there will be no fellowship. This is all about GRUDGES and PAYBACK! NO HOLDS BARRED BABY!!

So sign up na! Sana pakinggan tayo ng judges para matuloy ang momentous event na to!

Hirap bitbitin yung Galactus, tapos pag lalaruin puro long games dapat (min of 600 pts) tapos problema pa yung maps (unless magkaron ng agreement na instead of squares, inches na lang yung measurement tapos sa floor na lang maglaro)... It's a good idea for NG to have several figs of Galactus ready, para pwedeng hiramin ng players for scenarios, or parang yung players VS the shop owner type of game hehe pag nanalo yung players, magkakaron ng LEs yung players na nagsurvive hehe

O my golly gulay! Booster boxes for the Unleashed set are already in the wizkids website. Check it out! For sure may Batgirl (Barbara Gordon), Super Girl, Two Face and Green Lantern. Sana V version ni Barbara Gordon si Oracle! This set is gonna rock! Looks like another Titan is in this set, si Raven! Well, most of y'all don't read the Titans but this comic is one of the best series DC has, check it out! So far ang Teen Titans number 7 palang and it boasts a line-up composed of Robin, Superboy, Kid Flash, Beast Boy, Cyborg, Wonder Girl, and Starfire. Si Raven to follow. BTW patay na pala si Troia, buti naman ang sucky ng stats niya. FYI lang for comics fans.

Don't forget Justice League. Actually wala masyading nanonood ng mga TV series na yan. Yung Capt. America na movie nakakasuka. First 15 mins and nagwalk out ako and I was uhmm... around 19 Years old then.

Kaya naman DC sticks to Batman and Superman is because they can rake in cash there. Sayang lang kung maglalabas sila ng series that nobody watches. Yung action hour hindi na yata on air ngayon and Marvel actually lost a lot of money a couple of years back from investing on too much media. DC is more conservative in that area and they concentrate on what's important, and that is what's making money. Marvel series that are still on air that I know of are only Spiderman and X-men Evolutions. X-men medyo corny pa. DC naman Batman TAS, Superman TAS and Justice League. At least mas maganda and recognized ang Justice League series unlike the X-men Evolution which downright sucks! Hehe..... Oo nga pala where are those series now? At least yung Batman TAS alam ko since college pa ako nandiyan na yan, High School panga yata e. O, and DC has a new Teen Titans TV series, wala pa lang nga sa Cartoon Network.

X-men fan pa naman ako once upon a time. I now see the light! Long live the BAT! To me, Marvel just don't cut it. The only series I like is The Incredible Hulk and that's it. Stories are too kid stuff and bland. No imagination ang mga creative team. Kainis. I am talking in a comics perspective. Kayong mga maka Marvel diyan aside from Mon-mon and Teletran does not even know kung nasaan na ang Marvel ngayon sa comics e, otherwise you'll site some experiences right? Try to read up and tell me what you think. Ako Teen Titans lang ipaglalaban ko, kahit hindi pa Justice League. Show me a good Spidey story and I'll let you read Batman's Hush series by Jeph Loeb and Jim Lee. Batman/Superman Comics series has no competition whatsoever!

I've been collecting X-treme X-men and honestly, I don't know where the freakin' story is leading. Nahihinayang lang ako tumigil sayang yung mga nabili ko.

Kung gusto mo mga Spider-man stories check out the Ultimate Spider-Man series. Bendis and Bagley.
Maganda rin yung Return of Green Goblin storyline (at bago mo sabihin na "Bakit Green Goblin nanaman?", uunahan na kita at sasabihin kong, "Ilan beses na ba namatay at bumalik si Joker?" :) ).
Also the recent story leeding up to Amazing Spider-Man #500 was great.
Can't really site any newer storylines because kakabalik ko lang uli sa pangongolekta ng comics. Yung mga lumang stories though....Return of the Sinister Six. MAximum Carnage was pretty ok too. Death of Aunt May sana (pero that was a lead in to the Clone Saga...)

My point, meron magagandang story ang Spider-Man (bahala na yung iba magdepensa sa ibang Marvel titles.). KLung wala, it wouldn't be Marvel's flagship title and it wouldn't have lasted for more than 40 years.

May mga palpak din naman na kuwento ang Batman. Naalala ko meron akong nabasa dati na kuwento na sinasabing yung dad ni Bruce Wayne ang talagang unang Batman (pumunta siya sa costume party na naka-bat costume taos may pinigil na robbery ata). :P Medyo mahina rin ang kuwento don't you think?

Well I think each books has their pluses and minuses. All I'm saying is that recently, the DC stories are great! I'm not saying that all Marvel titles are dumb, I know that the Ultimate series are nice and all. Its just that I liked the depth that DC brought in to its characters, nabibwisit ako sa X-men series nila kasi wala na yung character depth na mayroon tulad dati. Spidey seems interesting though hindi ko lang siguro ganyan ka hilig. I loved the movie though and I loved the preview of the second one. I don't like Captain America and the Avengers characters though. Namor also doesn't look too good. Let's see, Hulk I'm buying and honestly it is kind of X-files type of story. They have Thanos and Surfer of which I don't know the storyline yet. After that, its mostly X-men. And recently X-men doesn't look too good in the comic books, not to mention clix. They killed Magneto and Jean Grey agian for the Nth time now, I hope Magneto stays dead. Classic villains includes Goblin, Rhino, Venom, Carnage which are mostly Spidey, aside from Spidey I don't know which books sell that good anymore perhaps you can tell me?

Thor seems okay sa Clix but i don't know his story. He became the replacement of Odin as the most powerfull god of all but then ano na ang stories niya? Curious lang ako maybe somebody can enlighten me a little about these titles. Ako kasi I am reading almost every DC team Titles: JLA, JSA, Teen Titans, Legion, kulang ko nalang Outsiders.

By the way Hal is coming back to DC, not as Spectre but as a Green Lantern again. That's why they brought it out of Unleashed, I think. Unleashed will be a blast! I hope Whizkids will keep 'em comin' with figs that we know and love.

Actually supot talaga yung New XMEN comic nung Planet X storyarc. PERO.... pick up New XMEN 151, mukhang bumabawi na sila! Especially since the new artist on board is MARC SILVESTRI! Woohooo! The Wolverine veteran!! Yes!! Seryoso, New XMEN hasn't look this good in a while. Mukhang babawi na sila!

As for DC, recently lang ako nagsimula collecting uli and I started with BATMAN: Hush and Kingdom Come. All I can say is WOW. Hindi ko na kelangan iexplain kung gaano kaganda ang mga storyarc na ito kasi their reputations speaks for themselves.

Marami nang nangyari sa Thor title. You're right on the money regarding Thor replacing Odin after Odin sacrificed his life to defeat Surtur. (before Odin dies, he separated Thor's mortal alter ego, Jake Olson from Thor)

After Thor replaced Odin, he entertained the notion of setting an example for the humans by bringing the gods to earth. He then teleported Asgard on top of New York and made world saving efforts... feeding the hungry, curing the sick, making a safe power energy source, deposed tyrants, freed slaves, etc.

One tyrant nation then was in trouble because the oppressed prayed to Thor for deliverance and the soldiers kept them in line by killing them... this angered Thor and he commanded Asgard's troops to intervene and save his worshippers. (Thor never asked to be worshipped, FYI)

The tyrant nation though is a vassal of Doc Doom and the US didn't want war to erupt so they asked Ironman to take Thor down. Ironman utilized the power source given to him by Thor (the power source Thor gave which he asked Tony to mass produce) and created a Thorbuster armor. They fought and Thor beat Ironman. Cap also came in and when Cap blocked Thor's hammer swing, Cap was hurled into the air and his shield was significantly dented. (Woohoo!)

After that, the issues of Thor delved into stories of people taking his side and those who don't. Eventually, earth retaliated and hit Thor with a nuke at ground zero. But Thor lived and when he returned to New York, there was already a war. in the fight, Jake Olson fought Thor and Thor killed Jake... then became unworthy to lift Mjonir... earth then nuked Asgard and New York.

The story then jumped to the future where Thor and Amora now had a child Magni and it shows how the world went with Thor as the lord of New Asgard and of Earth.

In the latest issue of Thor, it recounted how the Avengers opposed Thor and how Thor beat the carp out of them. Thor even beat Hulk and Thing at the same time, without the Odinpower, and without Mjolnir, and with one hand!!!!! Oh! Not "beat"... killed is more like it. Thor rules! :D

Casualties there were Warbird, Pietro, Vision, Strange, Hulk, Thing, Wolverine, Balder, and Captain America... too bad there was no showing of Ironman who almost matched Asgard's sorcery during the was as mentioned by Loki.

I remember he took off his "brief" at one time and it was all black na. Did he return to his "brief" days again? IIRC, he does sport one in the Hush storyline.

Edmond, I wasn't that impressed with the Hush storyline... maganda sana but something seems to be missing.... I hear that the long haloween is better.

Edmond, seriously, nagagandahan ka ba sa DC Direct toys? Hindi ko kasi ma-justify sa sarili ko kasi ang mahal na tapos mas maganda pa yung Marvel Legends. (this is not about being on the Marvel side since I do want the DC figs too)

Pero talaga... P1000 na yung cheapest na na-source ko for the Superman JLA fig. Mahal pa rin compared to Marvel's P350 which is really impressive and is definitely more advanced in the articulation aspect.

Ayaw ko yung mga Justice League figs na P350. Kumpleto ko na yung sa Jollibee eh. :) I display the Jollibee Superman fig on the TV. Yung Thor Bowen statue ko naman nasa may dining area. :)

GatX-105 started it! Eniweis, yung DC Direct actually medyo mahal pero kung collector ka you'll understand. The sculp is great dude. Yung Marvel I think is actually toys for kids, I'm not sure about its collectibility because the figures are available kahit saan. Are collectible value kasi kung malakas yung fig, masmaganda resale value.

But in terms of collectability DC has the upper hand. Yung Batman figures may worth especially yung mismong Batman and Robin figs, mabilis mabenta. Comics Express sold a Robin for Php 850.00 which started selling for Php 400.00 ata. Especially Joker and Killer Croc. Yung mga DC Direct figs have value talaga collectors edition kasi. Kingdom Come Figs naman are resealable sa Box so when you take it out you can out it back in. The sculps are really good.

And nah, I can't wear Amazo costume, ayaw ko kita utong ko conservative ako. C Eliot pwede pa bagay yun. Siya nalang team mate ko naman. Para maka draw tayo ng mga tsikas! :laugh:

Well Heri, IF I go to GAMA this year, then I can definitely get my hands on those things. However, I have no plans to go as of yet. Not in the budget... The only reason we got the Dropships for MW last year was because we went to GAMA. WK as of yet does not distribute other LE's through their distribution channels. This includes the plastic man LE's and the Atom LE's we have given out, that I would otherwise not have been able to get hold of, had I not gone to GENCON. Kaya those LE's cost me a trip!!!! Langhiya mas mahal pa, dapat sa EBAY na lang ako bumili!

They have promised to correct this, but so far not yet. If I dont go to GAMA then let's just hold our breaths and hope that WK changes their policy on LE distribution soon. In any case I will lobby for at least one for the Philippines. Remember I will just try, no promises.

ksi most dc players (almost all ) use hypersonic speed to run and hide.....marvel may be at a disadvantage but its proof that they can stand alone.because marvel doesnt need to hide to win.......hehehe
