If amon sur has 15 defense with ES/D, tapos nakadefend siya with 18 defense, do i get 20 def pag nag ES/D ako? Or rule of 3 lang (so 18 max)?

20 def, defend is a replacement power... not a modifier.. as with the rules you replace then modify.... so you replace your 15 def with 18 def then modify with your ESD to 20 (it can shoot up to a maximum of 21 in hindering)

Hey, great game nga Dark J...imagine goin up against the Sinestro Corps with you GL themed team was a real treat. I dont believe it has ever happened in a real Clix Tourney until then. :classic:. And the GLS winning that one was a battle almost straight from the comic book pa!!! Congrats Charles and Anton for making that game happen.
Then another battle that the Green Lantern's faced was against Pau's Skrull Team...another galactic DC vs Marvel War!!!

Whatt a game!!! I hope to see more of these theme battles in the future. This August we'll do more of these themed team format. :cool:

All character that have the Guardians of the Galaxy keyword are assigned this feat and have this team ability instead of any other team ability. Powers possessed by characters with this team ability cannot be countered. This team ability cannot be counteredLupet ng Guardians!!!

"MINION" Rules
Several characters in Hammer of Thor have "Minion" powers, such as that listed below. Minion powers are powers that generally make low-ranking members of a force more powerful if there is a "General" to lead them into battle and inspire them - either by inspiring fear or courage in their followers (minions).

Rock Troll has the power: Minion: We Follow the Strongest When a friendly character named Ulik is within 8 squares, Rock Troll can use Charge and modifies its attack value by +1.

To make sure everyone is clear on this new "mechanic" that will be continuing into future HeroClix sets, here are some helpful hints.

-The word Minion itself has no special meaning. It's simply a tag to identify a related group of powers that behave in a similar way. It's listed in italics because of this. The specific name of a "Minion" power, if any, is listed in bold following the word Minion. All effects of the Minion power are completely described by the rules text on the card, as with all Special Powers.

-In general, Minion powers are simply Special powers that generally behave in this way:
+They are found most often on "generic" characters and in the common slot
+They require a friendly character with specific keyword(s) or a specific name (a "General") to be on the map for this ability to be used by the character with the minion ability.
+They require that the specific character be within 8 squares
+They are just like other special powers - they may modify a combat value, grant the use of a standard power, or be a completely non-standard power.
+Minion powers generally are found on all slots of a dial where they appear, and the damage slot is most often used.

There are exceptions to this list, but these are the general guidelines that drives the design of Minion powers.

-For characters with a Minion power who begin an action within 8 squares of a specific character required (a "General"), the ability applies to that action. It does not apply if they begin an action farther than 8 squares from a required character. (Note that this rule applies to free actions that are part of larger power actions.)

Consider this example:
Rock Troll is exactly 8 squares away from Ulik. He uses a Power Action to use Charge, with his movement value of 8. He moves 4 squares, and is no longer within 8 squares of Ulik. He does not "stop" charging as soon as he moves outside of 8 squares - he continues to be able to use the charge ability until he begins another action. He then uses a close combat attack as a free action. Because he is now outside of 8 squares when beginning this free action, he does NOT modify his attack value by +1.

-Minion powers can be countered as normal, and they are optional as normal.

-"Within 8 squares" includes "Generals" exactly 8 squares away.

-The mechanic is designed in such a way that it's possible in the future that other powers could reference all characters that "can use a Minion power", but no such powers exist in Hammer of Thor.Here come the armies!!!!:cool:

Aside from characters in the Thor Storyline, also included in the Hammer of Thor are characters from Agent of Atlas (Jimmy Woo, Namora, M-11, Gorilla Man(Ken Hale) etc., Guardians of the Galaxy (current incarnation: Starlord, Rocket Raccoon, Bug, Moondragon) Daredevil mythos (Daredevil, Kingpin, Conrad the Hand Ninja) Runaways (Karolina, Niko and Old Lace) and the Norman Osborn led T-Bolts (Moonstone, Songbird, Venom, Penance)

I hope they have a playable DD. I mean Topps screwed up THREE (count em) THREE versions of DD. Although the sculpt for the sinister release was outstanding IT was still barely playable.

My 2 cents worth on the Hammer of Thor

The Primer on HCREALMS discusses the VALUE of the FIGURES on a SEALED format. My 2 cents worth will be my idea on its value on constructed tourneys.


1.BUG. Low point. Exploit. Super Senses. I like it. No, this won’t win you tournament on its own BUT it could POTENTIALLY annoy your OPPONENT. The Exploit Weakness makes it a threat AND the super senses might make it last awhile.

2. KINGPIN. Hmmm … the Mastermind can be applied to a fig that has a higher value (up to 125) BUT why would you do that. I mean the 125 fig is probably one of your HITTERS and Kingpin doesn’t strike me as a fig worth saving .

3. HAND NINJA. Correct me if I’m wrong. You can carry the Hand Ninja, land it on hindering terrain adjacent to an opponent AND get a free attack. Also, as long as this guy is in hindering terrain it can attack an opponent EVERY turn ad infinitum. Hello Batman.

4. ROCK TROLL. On its own it’s NOT bad. 10 AV/3 Dmg on a relatively deep dial for 45 points BUT this guy demands to be played with Ulik. 4 Rock trolls and Ulik on a 300 pt game. Let get ready to rumble.

5. JIMMY WOO. A theme guy. What he does is nothing special. He probably would be played only on Theme Armies. Jimmy would give Green Arrow a boost on a martial artist theme army with his shield ability.

6. PIP THE TROLL. Wow. This guy can go coast to coast. If I read it right, this guy can go from one end of the map to the other as long as he can see it and the square is adjacent to both a friendly and an opponent. That is clearly exploitable. Have Pip carry and object and pump his Dmg a notch. Wham. 5 points of damage from across the board. Of course having 2 Figures in your opponents area is not tactically sound BUT definitely fun, Ha ha

7. MARVEL BOY. Have to try this guy out. That Mind Control and Incap combo really sounds intriguing. I mean how does the stunning blow feat affect all this. The way I see it, Mind Control. Incap. Damage. Token.

8. PHALANX SOLDIER. Somebody is going to hoard this. HA ha ha. Put three of this guy in front. Have a GL( or Tbolted GL) carry them around. Voila. Blades galore.

9. MALEKITH. Ignoring HINDERING TERRAIN and ELEVATED TERRAIN is fantastic BUT this guy is still very difficult to play.

10 . M-11. Love this. Long dial for 59 points. Regen at 3 slots. Good starting AV (10) and DV (18). No damage reducers BUT the dial and the regen makes up for that. Not a game breaker BUT might be a difference maker.

11. ENCHANTRESS. Mind Control is still NOT feasible strategy for constructed. That being said ENCHANTRESS is a difficult figure to play with. If i wanted to play with MC and have perplex I'd play Mr Mind instead. Throw in JEAN GREY for the TK, i'd save 40+ points. Too costly for my taste for what she does.

12. VALKYRIE. Would an army of this be GOOD?? Lots of MEDIC healing each other, then running back to the fight. He he.

13. BI-BEAST. Hmm ... Kinky name. At any rate, this is a middle of the road kind of fig. Not that bad, nothing spectacular either. Meaning, it wont get any playing time.

14. ASGARDIAN WARRIOR. Possible combo with the generic-Valkyries since they would have the same General type (Asgardian-Deity).

15. FIRE DEMON. OK. Low cost, Willpower and Flight are usually an excellent combo. Unfortunately with 6 movement that doesn't help much.

16. THOR. Beat stick?? DEFINITELY! Will probably see this around a lot (High AV/DV/Dmg plus a common fig). So be forewarned.

17. BALDER. Damage reducer ALL the way. High AV/DV. Sprinkle of CCE, EW and BCF. Balder is BEGGING for a fight. Give him money for a cab ride(taxi). Good to go.

18. FANDRAL. Only thing holding it BACK is the lack of Move-Attack power. Otherwise a solid piece BUT probably will be included in THEME ARMIES only.

19. CHASE STEIN. The carry 8 ability is SWEET, if only his movement was better than 6. Of course there's always DOUBLE TIME plus the TEEN keyword is one of the more popular keyword. I'm sure someone's going to try a TEEN TANK. Let me know how it works.

20. KARNILLA. I like this figure. Reminds me of Crimson Avenger (CD) more expensive but better AV and Range. Psychic Blast plus 8 range will make those 'Deity' wet their Armor. She evolves to complimentary figure with enhancement and prob at the end of the dial. all that for 64 points.

21. ULIK. My man. Those who have played with me for a while usually knows the story. My first two tourney victory came with Ulik as my thoroughbred. Nobody has played with it before or since. Now it's BACK and BETTER. First, Let me make the introduction. Ulik, meet invisible girl. Absolutely COOL.

22. MOONSTONE. Sexy Beotch. Very playable. RS with PB and 3 dmg. 8 range. Jeez. It fits very well with the REST of the Tbolts crew (from the other sets), majority of which has RS. The Avenger TA can be T-Bolted to Batman Ally, Moonstone is now a SNIPER.

23. BETA RAY BILL. Horse sheet (pun intended). Another brick. BRB is pretty solid BUT at 159 pts, I like Namor (SI) better. Not that it's BAD in any way. Just that I figure most player will find better options, in a theme army I have no problem putting this THOROUGHBRED in, Omega Flight anyone??

24. NAMORA. A low level brick. AT 76 points pretty good. If you're wondering about the carry TWO special power ... well, if you're playing the Agents of Atlas theme, there are 5 in the set. Marvel Boy carries on Agent and Namora carries the other TWO. No idea ... really

25. STARLORD. Galactic Marksman my a-double dollar sign. This guy has 6-range WTF. Pricey at 90 points. I have a question on this BUT I'll post it on the discussion separately.

6. PIP THE TROLL. Wow. This guy can go coast to coast. If I read it right, this guy can go from one end of the map to the other as long as he can see it and the square is adjacent to both a friendly and an opponent. That is clearly exploitable. Have Pip carry and object and pump his Dmg a notch. Wham. 5 points of damage from across the board. Of course having 2 Figures in your opponents area is not tactically sound BUT definitely fun, Ha ha

19. CHASE STEIN. The carry 8 ability is SWEET, if only his movement was better than 6. Of course there's always DOUBLE TIME plus the TEEN keyword is one of the more popular keyword. I'm sure someone's going to try a TEEN TANK. Let me know how it works.

If i'm not mistaken the sharp shooter ability allows the character to make a ranged combat attack. Off the bat I'd say yes you should be able to make a Ranged combat attack.

However, the break away action was still a failure, Unless the original target was Venom, I don't think he could shoot anything. It's not like shape change i believe.

Any power not used that turn ata yung wording but i don't know if you could use it consecutively but i think every turn nico can use the SP ability.
