yup. puwede gawin yun.

Pulse wave is still defined as a ranged combat action. Running shot allows you to make a ranged combat action as a free action at the end of your movement. Therefore it's ok to use pulse wave.

I'd just like to remind everyone to please start creating your Player ID's over in the Wizkids website. This will help us, your local judges, in reporting events and in getting you your prize support (LE's).

Also, Wizkids has other promotions which registered players can avail of.

Tuloy sa Nova this sunday. Yung sa mga gusto maglaro this sunday, sabay-sabay na lang tayo pumunta. Kita-kita sa Prancing Pony sa Marikina (or mas maganda ba kung sa NG Galleria?) ng mga 11 am. Para maaga tayo makarating don at maaga matapos.

Mga interesado sa Inuman-clix,

As of now, meron tayong 3 possible locations. Pinag-usapan namin ni Chuck at iniisip namin mas ok tong gawin sa weekend after lumabas ang Critical Mass. Ayos sa Wizkids site, relese date ng Critical Mass ay December 3 (tamang-tama, kaka-suweldo lang). So tentative date for Inuman-clix is Dec. 5 or Dec. 6 ng gabi (depende kung anong mas gusto niyo at sa venues). All-night affair to. Ok lang ba sa inyo?

Sa mga Inuman-clix venues (Herri, VH, NG_Chuck),

Please confirm kung puwede lugar niyo on the aforementioned dates.

Long time no hear. Medyo busy ako sa office lately. Nagtransfer na office namin from mandaluyong to Las Piñas. Sucks! Ang layo ko na sa mga tourney areas.

May babalita pala ako sa inyo. We have an investor who wants to start a convention for next year sa megamall. He's still making his mind out if it would be a Toy, comic, miniature gaming, or animation convention. He is also thinking kung pwedeng magkakasama lahat yon sa isang convention? He is even thinking of sponsoring the tournaments that will take place in the convention.

Do you guys think these is a good idea? Interested ba kayo?

Nagbibitaw nga ako ng mga figs ngayon I just realized that I don't use most of the figs I have. Sayang lang gawin ko nalang pera pang I.D at S.W. :)

Anybody interested in Indy figs? I'm selling at Php 7,000.00 with 4 Uniques,
Hellboy, Judge Andersen, Angelus and Arwyn with complete set of American figs, yes that's right! Also have most of the set except for REV Judge Dread which I'm sure I sold already. But the one I'm selling is atleast 80% complete.

Yes! Napanood na rin ang Matrix! Galing ng effects and contrary to some others who gave the story a bad rap, I actually appreciated everything. Siguro hindi lang maka-follow mabuti kapag philosophical ang usapan yung mga yon. :noid:

Well, one thing I'm afraid of for heroclix is if they release a heroclix v 2.0 cause that's gonna make me spend more again. Oh well.. until CM gets out, then I'm saving all my money.

Tinanong ko kung baket, kasi daw yun yung gusto ng mga players doon.

Is it just me, or do people really miss the cheesebol tactics? Personally, nakakawalang gana sumali ng tournaments kung people keep forcing the issue of being cheesy. Sad din kasi just goes to show that some people don't like the challenge of adapting to new rules and would rather stick to what they know.

I agree. As a player I find that I prefer playing with the new rules better than the old rules.

As a judge though, I'd like to hear people's opinions on why they seem to prefer the old rules over the new ones.

Is it because of the slow pace? (That's what they say. I still cannot see this. Setting up your figures on the board may take a bit longer but once you get right down to it, games end in about the same time as they did under the old rules).

Maybe it's the task of having to relearn the rules? (=That's what the judges are around for.)

The sudden abundance of TK? It's true that TK has made it's way into many teams right now and that you always get to see Jean Grey, Cosmic Boy and Johnny Alpha. But how different is this from the old rules where all you see are Wasps, Vultures, and Live Wires?

It seems to be a case of "you cant teach an old dog new tricks". Mukang they just want to revert back to FIRELORD CLIX. If that is the case....mas maganda siguro na wala na lang expansion an ilabas and wizkids since they are satisfied with whats out now.

The speed of the game has not really changed that much. Bakit noon, yung mga tourney natin sobra ang tagal. I dont think time would be a good reference for switching back to the old rules.

I would really like to see new figs being played out and not see the same $hit every tourney.

Just my 2 cents.

Nakakadepress nga kasi konti na nga lang tayo(players), nababawasan pa dahil yung iba gusto pa rin old rules.

Sa kin mas ayos indy rules, mas marami talagang options ngayon as compared dati. Yung experimental teams natin dati pang friendly game lang, pagdating ng tourneys kelangan balik na sa cheese. With the new rules yung mga tinatawag nating "for fun" na teams nagagamit na rin. With the new rules, tourneys now can both be FUN and COMPETITIVE at the same time. Less serious(if not cheesy) ang environment kaya mas maeenganyo ang newbies maglaro.

Slow pace daw, pero tulad ni bace, hindi ko rin makita kung bakit.

Kim!!!!! May Initial D na boosters na!!!!! Bili naba ako for you. Ayaw ko na ng Starwars na kalokohan na yan pwede na Initial D. Dadaan ako ng Gale later nangangatog na ako. Let's meet tomorrow nalang gusto na kasi ng GF ko tapusin yung DVD na Taken.

Wednesday group. Gawin nalang nating Thursday. Let's meet Chuck also. I'm a bit worried na about the status of the clix community. I know the Care Bears have the same sentiments too so lets talk about the game and how we can pique interest.

Regarding the old rules business. I think old rules is not even an option to begin with. First of all, this is not a type one type two kind of game. It is now Indy rules and regardless of what happens we are stuck with it. People haven't played enough of the new rules anyway to judge it.

I hope that people would just stick to what is now and I think Whizkids made the rules to make the game more diverse in the first place. Fliers don't dominate the game as much anymore.

My other concern is that this game is being dominated by:

a.) Con Artist/Perplex Teams and
b.) Flying Hypersonic Teams

Do we have any tourneys later by Master Bon? It's kind of been quiet here for two weeks now. I don't think Bon should be disappointed that nobody showed up at his old rules tourney. Fact of the matter is people who play at your place is playing with new rules already. We'll have to meet and figure out what's slowing us down. Is it Initial D and Star Wars? Actually puro mga bata ang naglaro nung Saturday. The it's the first time I saw Dave using Mandarin V. But as usual he still plays with two barrier figs, two TK's, and three Con Artists. But hell , it's quite challenging to play against him and I don't mind his cheesy team. Naglaro sila Konrad and his ummm...... brother. The others di ko na kilala. But I've asked them about it and sabi nila new rules din gusto nila.

On another note, Care Bears, revive na natin ang heroclix. Sorry haven't been playing much lately have been busy kasi even on week nights. And no, I don't play much Initial D either. May marquee daw tayo next month sabi ko kay Chuck Atom LE. Ang sagot lang niya, "Ano Atom LE?" I don't think it is available for pricing though. Pero mukhang maganda naman ang balak nila. Guys, for Marquee natin I suggest Sealed booster draft 300 Points ng Critical Mass! hehe.....

Nobody shows up much on tourneys anymore. Galing ako sa Gamer's and wala din tao doon kami lang ni Don. I doubt it is because people are gearing up for Critical Mass but because we haven't been active much lately. Suggestion ko lang revive natin mga weekly meetings natin para mas may presence ang Clix. Nagiging Star Wars territory na ang G2 and pagkatagal, maglalaro narin ako noon. No!!!!!!!!

Oo nga pala. HB, got the DVD Extended Ed from HK. You can also order it via Amazon mura lang. If you guys want we can watch it at my place no problem. Just be ready to spend 4 hours on it. It's huge. To Everybody : new "heroclix" houserule, those of you who play M.K. 2.0 would be familiar with this. "Rule of 3". :)

RULE OF 3
Many modifi ers can affect combat values during the game. Because all modifi ers are cumulative, there is a
special rule called the rule of 3. The rule of 3 states that once all modifi ers have been calculated, no value
can be modifi ed by more than 3. It is important to note that the effects of special abilities and items override
standard Mage Knight rules. The rule of 3, however, takes precedence over any special abilities or items.
Example: Scott gives his Atlantean Sorcerer a ranged combat action to make a wand ranged attack
against a Black Powder Rifl eman. Scott decides to create a ranged combat formation using the Atlantean
Sorcerer and three Apprentice Sorcerers to add to the Atlantean Sorcerer’s attack value. The Atlantean
Sorcerer gets +2 to its attack value for each Apprentice (for a total of +6). In addition, the line of fi re passes
through the Black Powder Rifl eman’s rear arc, giving the Atlantean Sorcerer +l to its attack value (now for
a total modifi er of +7). The Black Powder Rifl eman has the Spell Resistance special ability, which gives the
Atlantean Sorcerer –3 to its attack value. In total, the Atlantean Sorcerer gets +4 to its attack value. Because

Ganda ng Critical Mass! Lots of familiar (for me at least) characters and all pretty useful.

We already know about Ulik, Rhino, Kraven, Hulk, Spidey and Venom. Here's a list of some of the figures I was surpriseed with:

Calypso - CONTROL. Probability and Mind. Nice. Limited range and the most expensive "cheap" prob controller. But still interesting and warrants a second look.

Umar and Nebula - RCE with good attack values, damage, and range WITH Mastermind. Easily outwittable because of the lack of stealth, but it'll still make your opponents think about their strategy.

Elektra - OK....another Elektra. But willpower AND flurry? hmmmm.....And all for less than 30 pts.

Moleman - Especially the veteran. Lots of possibilities.

Absorbing Man - True he has to "hulk up", but I can see him in teams with Vet Dr. Doom....hehehe

Hmm....Have to look at all the dials a few more times. :)
I had a longer list earlier but I can't seem to recall everything at the moment. Hehe.

Mga Kapatid!!!

Gising na sa ating heroclix slumber dahil lumabas na ang CRITICAL MASS! Kakakuha lang namin ng case ni BACE kahapon and woohoo we got a Hulk and Surfer!

You've all seen the stats of most of the figs so there's not much to say. However, one thing I noticed though is that the figs, pati yung mga malalakas are more focused on ranged attacks. Multiple arrows, RCES, Running shots and etc... mukhang advantage pa rin ang mga stealth based figs ng DC. But there are interesting characters like Moleman, Morgan, Diablo, Ronan, Calypso, Spidey etc... which have unique combination of powers which could pave the way for new tactics. So yep. Things are definitely looking up for heroclix again!

Sa mga old school players, sayang if you've given up the game for other things. Sige kayo, nauunahan na kayo ng mga newbies at pretty soon kayo na uli newbies!

You've all seen the stats of most of the figs so there's not much to say. However, one thing I noticed though is that the figs, pati yung mga malalakas are more focused on ranged attacks. Multiple arrows, RCES, Running shots and etc...

mukhang advantage pa rin ang mga stealth based figs ng DC. But there are interesting characters like Moleman, Morgan, Diablo, Ronan, Calypso, Spidey etc...

But yeah, though I wonder how many of them will actually remain as tournament staples in the months after the set's release some figures that got a lot of hype when their sets first came out never really scored big in casual or tourney play (Crimson Dynamo & Mandarin anywone?) I sure hope that the same wont be said about the guys from this set>

which have unique combination of powers which could pave the way for new tactics. So yep. Things are definitely looking up for heroclix again!

<As for combating DC Stealth heavy teams, all that people need to do are really change their apporach at looking at the way the game plays, I'm sure that the "Yoink!" brothers Spidey & Venom as well as monsters like Ulik will help open up new strategies or improve on those that came close to working well before. Yup things are definately looking up between this new set and the new rules as well as big fig rules!>

Hi guys,

I've been giving it some thought lately but the reasons why figs like Crimson Dynamo and Mandarin don't come out much is because the most effective Marvel teams in tournaments have always been con artist based. For those who don't know what con artist teams are, they are usually composed of 3 con artists, a pulse waver, and around a dozen low cost figs. This team limits other people (like me) to play super hero teams and would always of course use a team that is most effective against it to at least place somewhere near the top (like Amazo team). I'm quite sure that most competitive players are also compelled to use teams which they don't normally play but would use because you'll get squashed if you play against this popular team. Just imagine a 200 point Hulk gets smashed by a measly 18 point hand ninja. Humiliating isn't it?

To avoid this situation and for us to make use of the new figs that came out with Critical Mass, I would like to suggest that all figs, whether generic or not, can only one copy on each team. This way, they other medics will be played, and more Hero heavy teams be used. Otherwise, no matter how many sets Marvel came up with, it will always be dominated by team with three women in skirts. Agreed?

I hope we can get this approved by NG and try it out in a couple of tourneys. I've observed that tourneys have always been dominated by perplex heavy teams, perhaps its time to make a change.

Nasa US ka pala kaya ang tahimik mo. hehehe.

Gaya ng sinabi ni Edmond, Terrax, Surfer, Captain Marvel, Morgan Le Fay are some of the Uniques to get. I'd also like to add Sersi (76 pts, Avengers TK-er), Beta Ray Bill ( I know you'd want him), and Dormammu. Adam Warlock and Hulk have their uses (not as straightforward as the other pieces but still great pieces). Ronan the Accuser and Nova are ok figs too but not as great as the others in my opinion. Haven't seen Warbird yet so I wouldn't know.

Sa mga REV, Venom and Spidey are must haves. Ulik, Kraven, Nebula, Vet Daredevil, Moon Knight, Moleman, Archangel, Diablo, Selene/Black Queen, Moonstone/Meteorite and Umar are also some of the figures that are promising.

REV Tk-ers sa Critical Mass? Black Queen/Selene. Pretty cheap too. Also Calypso gains TK near the end of her dial.

RE: Con artist bomb:
Doesn't really bother me that much. I still make and play the teams that I want to play (Kang, vet Batman, Spidey, etc). I don't make teams to specifially counter any one strategy and I still do pretty well during tournaments (modestly aside).

I'm not saying that the perplex team isn't effective or isn't powerful, but it isn't the only successful team strategy that Marvel or DC has to offer. I do see the strength of the team and how it can be abused however.

As a house rule, we're starting to implement the rule of three during tournaments. This is a rule tat is found in MK. Simply put, you can only modify a combat value a maximum of 3 times. This includes modifications as a result of perplex, Hydra/PD TA's, and SHIELD TA's. So if you have 5 perplexers on your team, you can use 3 of them to modify your damage and the remaining 2 for another stat (attack value for instance).

Let's try this out for now. :)

FAH! i like critical mass! lots of RS and the yoink-master venom(for me he's the best marvel yoinker) whcih means hindi na ganong ka-effective ang stealth. (tk-yoink-RS) yari si batman lalo na ang legion.... wawa naman si batman mababa kasi stats eh....

Ganun na nga. I saw that the wizkids site has all the pictures and stats of all the crit mass figs.

Buti na lang super DSL yung internet ko and it was so easy to browse through some of them. There are a couple of kids here though so I couldn't spend the day looking at heroclix. ("children-sitting" yung pambayad ko for the free lodging eh... heheh)

I'm so unhappy with Bill's stats... I really wished he wasn't 144 points cause his stats is then almost similar to that of E Thor's. Not that I'm saying it's wrong or something but I did wish he were in the 160ish range. That'll place him between E and V Thor.

Bace, check out Warbird's stats in the wizkidsgames.com site. She's nice! (but I personally think there's no big reason to use her over SuperSkrull)

GatX105, been to a couple of comic stores. No Spidergirl #0 though.... but there were treasures of others! I spent more than $100 on comics alone. And last "Thanksgiving Day", they had holiday sales and gave discounts of 50% of the list price of everything! Woohoo! :D I got all the Thor comics I needed and a number of What if issues that I never got to read at all. Well, it'll be one more week for me here in the US. If I chance by any Spidergirl#0, I'll get it for you.

My 1st ever CM

I've just bought a CM booster, I pulled-out Venom V, Archangel V Corsair E and Kree Warrior V.

Venom really rocks... 4 clicks of SS with 2 clicks of perplexs, It can do 6 damage...:laugh:
And Archangel has 6 clicks of charge.... :laugh:

I can't wait to try Archangel and Venom combination.... :cool:

yung damage na tinutukoy ng rulebook ay yung kapag binato sila (using SS pa rin, 6range for light object, 4range for heavy) Kapag close combat naman, ang light object +1 sa damage at ang heavy +2.

Thanks for enlightening.. Akala ko kahit close combat +3 for heavy object and +2 for light object....

Another clarification, Venom also has 4 range. If I made a Range Attack to toss a heavy object, ma-apply ba ang +3 damage? 2 base damage +3 for using heavy object = 5 damage. Plus perplex equals 6 damage (ang kulit ko, ipinagpipilit ang 6 damage ;) )

An object being carried by a figure with super strength can be used 2 ways. the first way is to use the object to add damage to a close combat attack. In this scenario, the damage dealt is the base damage of the character, + 2 if it's a heavy object or +1 if it's a light object.

The second way to use an object is as a ranged attack. A heavy object has a range of 4 squares. A light object has a range of 6. Neither value can be modified. The damage from a thrown object does not include the base damage listed on the figure. A heavy object deals 3 while a light object deals 2. This value cannot be perplexed but can be modified with enhance or the SHIELD team ability.

Astig. Ang dami ng posts since the last time I looked! Grabe, can't seem to make a team without silver surfer nowadays. I'm a surfer addict! Can't wait to try him out on tourneys. Have you seen his stats? His the toughest heroclix fig yet for his point total! 18 defense, 2 clicks of imperv and 4 clicks of invul. May two clicks of regen pa with 10 clicks of life! I personally think he can whoop SODs a$s!! (O protesta na mga superman lovers)

On the perplex thing, I think kaya naman siya. There are forgotten figs like Ultron and Dr.Doom Vet who can lay the smack down on them with multiple arrow EEs. Lest we forget blizzard and LE annihilus with Running shot pulse waves to level the playing field. And of course Kang. Medyo nasanay lang tayo with a certain way of playing kasi.

But the rule of 3 sounds like a good official fix to this debatable problem. Subukan na natin coz it may do it na rin.

I'll be in G2 later around 4pm. Pasabay kami ni Ben sa isa sa inyo going to my place ok (my car is coded tomorrow).

Anyway Mon no way can that chump on the board lay the smack on big blue! I guess this means na Superman will yet again have to prove himslef against another upstart, hehe.

But anyway tuloy pa ba yung 3 100 point teams format natin for later? I have my teams ready for that brawl, and I'm hard at work coming up with a 400 point team that I can enjoy.

Ba parang baliktad ata yun! Parang napansin ko lang na lahat ng dial ni AMazo may kulay hanggang dulo. Ganoon din si Despero. Pansin ko lang. SOD naman hanggang dulo 5 clicks parin ang damage. Wonderwoman naman may kwenta parin after 5 clicks. Batman 4 clicks of damage at the 4th or 5th click I think. Nightwing may leap and climb pa. Cheetah V may Blades claws parin.

Hmmm....... I don't think so!!!!! Hehe........

dati umaabot ng at least 16 players. Pinakamarami so far is 40+.

SUrfer is about as rare as the other uniques. In a case of 48 there are usually 8 uniques. so that gives you a 1 in 6 chance of getting a unique (average anyway).

Since the tourney on saturday will be a sealed booster tourney, newbies will have a better chance because your teams will also depend on what you get from your boosters.

Di ka makakagawa ng "cheesy" team beforehand and the more experienced players may end up with the sucky figs. ;)

For those of you who didn't come, masaya ang inuman clix last friday! I was waiting for someone to post the details pero wala eh so here goes...

Basically the game was played across two maps with 5 players playing free for all. We were using 500 point teams. I can't remember the exact teams used by each player but here's a gist of it:

BACE - Spiderman enemies team. Among others it had Venom, Kraven, Rhino, Green Goblin, Doc Ock, Sandman and some other figs.

Ben Mark - 300 pts Sentinel team with support figs like BP Rk, Invisible Girl Rk, Black Cat, Destiny, Taskmaster some Mandroid Armors and a medic I think.

Dari - Critical Mass team with Terrax, Venom, Nebula, MoonKnight with other figs like Firelord, a medic, Destiny, and a Johnny Alpha (wala na kasi siyang dalang ibang fig)

VH - Pure DC team with OWAW, Cosmic Boy, Saturn Girl, Flash, Alfred, Green arrow, Harley Quin, a medic and some other figs that I can't remember.

HB - That's me. I had a Fantastic Four Comic team with Surfer, Doom, Human Torch, and Invisible Girl supported by a medic and one con artist.

Ok. With that said, the following were the inuman rules for this momentous inaugural event:

1. Person who roles critical miss drinks one shot of vodka.
2. Person who gets hit by a critical hit drinks one shot of vodka.
3. Person who wants to make a heal must buy it by drinking a shot of vodka. If the roll is unsuccessful the shot is nullified.
4. Person who rolls an unsuccessful super senses or impervious must drink a shot of vodka.
5. If super senses or imperv is successful, attacking person must drink two shots of vodka
6. For each 100 points eliminated from your team, you must drink two shots of vodka.

Now Dari was a total wuss. According to him, his "doctor" told him not to drink too much alcohol. So it was decided that Dari only drinks shots of beer while the rest of us drink vodka. Daya no?

With that said, it would be too long to detail all that had happened. But here are a couple of highlights.

- VH killing off Ben Mark's 300 pt. Sentinel for 6 straight shots of vodka!
- Me slipping a little vodka into Dari's beer (hehe)
- Ben Mark getting hammered early by buying lots of heal.
- BACE quickly followed suit
- Us laughing at Dari's beer shots
- Kraven and Alfred playing hunter and prey in the woods
- The first human KO in heroclix history! BACE missed approximately 5 rounds since he was KOd on the floor by the vodka. But he eventually woke up to continue hunting Alfred.
- Us laughing at Dari's beer shots
- Ben Mark, routinely rising to say pass during his turn before going back to the floor to close his eyes.
- Us still laughing at Dari's beer shots

...and in the end, it was OWAW who won (O sige na magyabang na ang DC boys). But all in all it was a fun experience playing the game with vodka in our veins. Here's to the next inuman clix as sana mas maraming makasali!!

Kaming dalawa ni VH natira (obviously helped by the fact that no one had the heart to kill my figs off while I was KO'd. Hehehe. It came down to OWAW SUpes and a fully healed Kraven. Unfortunately Kraven missed his one and only chance to knock OWAW off his Impervious/Hypersonic clicks.

And since Crit MAss Marquee this weekend, I'm posting below the Top Ten Crit Mass Marquee Figs :
(Figures that you'd want to get in the marquee tourney if you want to stand a good chance of winning, in the opinion of this writer of course. This list does not include Uniques. This list is in no particular order)

1. E/V Venom - One half of the yoink brothers in this set (unfortunately di mo sila puwede pagsama sa isang team). Very versatile as a front-line piece and a support piece.
2. V Nebula - Mastermind and RCE. At 10 range and for two targets, this piece will be hard to take out. Partner her with some Dreadnoughts and your opponent will most likely not be able to touch you (barring outwit).
3. R/E/V Archangel - A taxi is always useful. A taxi that can attack while carrying his fare is better. thus Archangel.
4. R/E/V Meteorite/Moonstone - Flying, phasing, superstrength, and RCE. The rookie is just purely a support piece (taxi, yoinking, harrassing), but the other versions can double up as attackers too
5. V Moleman - high attack, Defense, and damage plus mastermind and stealth. The result? A figure that your opopnent has to come closer to to damage. And if he is able to damage him, he still has to contend with that damage being passed off to some lackey behind the moleman (Moloids are perfect).
6. E/V Kraven - Finally a middle-cost figure with front-loaded outwit that can be used. Stealth to protect him and a high natural defense. Careful not to push him though.
7. R/E/V Ulik - Six (6) clicks of damage. need I say more?
8. R/E/V Black Queen/Selene - The only REV figure to start with TK. And she can defend herself too (unlike some other red-headed TK'ers out there...).
9. R/E/V Calypso - Probability Control is always good.
10. V Spider-Man - 'Nuff said. (ok ok. I'm biased. but you have to admit he does bring a lot to a team).

And for those curious, below are my personal top ten REV picks from critical mass (from 1-10):
