Hi. Can someone please help me. I want to start reading the Judge Dredd Comics, but I don't know where to start. I want to start as far back as possible, so I figured that there would be trade paperbacks with the old issues, but I'm having a really hard time finding the TPBs I'm looking for. So, for those of you who have read Judge Dredd, where should I start? Is there a book that you would suggest? Please help. Thanks.

Dredd started way back in 1977. If you check around enough shops, you may find the old Titan publishing TP's. I'm not sur of the exact chronology, but some highlights are:

Judge Death (featuring Judge Anderson)
Judge Caligula books 1 & 2
The Cursed Earth books 1 & 2

Back in the mid eighties, Eagle Comics reprinted many tales with added color in an ongoing title.

Recent TP's collect runs by Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon, and your comic shop can order them for you.

If you want your monthly fix of Dredd, you should add 2000 AD to your comics saver. That's where his series runs.

You want Dredd? Always good to see people interested in 2000AD. You have two choices for your regular fix, 2000AD, a weekly compilation of sci-fi, horror and fantasy comics, which ALWAYS has Dredd, or the monthly (?) Judge Dredd Megazine, which is harder to find. I recommend reading 2000AD, since its a dang fine book.

For classic stories, ask GMSLegion, since he KNOWS 2000 AD. I recommend the Apocalypse War and Necropolis. Especially Necropolis.

Hope you enjoy 2000AD!
