I just bought and read this new "Wanted" comic. I LOVE THIS COMIC!

I have to recommend it to all who like a cool comic. I love it how they actually swear like real people. And the best part is apparently there are only super villians and no super heros! heh.

Everything in it is tip-top in it as far as i am concerned. I cant wait till this series gets going.

anyone else check this issue out yet?

I got this book and it's shows huge potential...I hope they don't just turn it into another lame Authority/JLA/punisher rip off.

I really Wanted to pick up this book, but no one seems to be able to say if Silvestri or Turner was in the wrong.

If Silvestri was punking a fellow profesional, I hate to give him any of my money. Big corporations of lawyers doing evil is one thing, but fellow artists should be helping each other.

The previews for Wanted looked really awesome too. Oh well.

???whats all this Briel???

I dont think it matters if you buy a copy or not. (as far as trying to keep money out of who-ever's hands) I'm pretty sure that your local store already paid them for the books they ordered.

its not a bad little story so far though.

haven't read this book. I think maybe I'll pick it up and give it a shot. I actually wanted to post to say that after meeting Silvestri I was not that impressed. And that was when Top Cow was one of my favorite creative studios. He left such a bad impression on me I find it hard to get any Top Cow stuff since. As for the people that worked for him at the time, they rocked.

Millar pitched this idea to DC a few years ago as "Watchmen for super-villians". And it looks like its shaping that way...the Killer is the Comedian and so on...

Most importantly though I LOVED it. Jones art is slick too.

It matters because that determines how many books they order in the future. If it didn't, books would never be cancelled. I'm still partially guilty because I refuse to quit on Tomb Raider (which I would be buying regardless of publisher).

All the Image guys struck out on their own for freedom. Then when Turner struck out to make Aspen, Silvestri got worried because Top Cow overall isn't doing so well. Suing Turner over supposed royalties and percentages, after everyone had been told years ago that Turner owned Fathom.

The truth, and what's more, an apology would be good. Turner has basically said past is past and refuses to discuss the court ruling, but I for one am extremely curious.

If I'm wrong, I'll be right there to say it. There are many Top Cow titles I like. But as it stands, I feel a little dirty buying their books when I hope to be a creator one day.

This doesn't mean you shouldn't buy whatever you want. And it surely doesn't mean Millar doesn't deserve everyone's support because he does. It's just my comic political view.

I'll shut up now.

Interesting take Briel. I don't know the history or the artists well enough to make andy judgements. Are we all talking about the same book? I'm thinking of the darkness book called wanted. If not what book are you guys talking about?

They are talking about the new Mark Millar book Wanted, being published for him by Top Cow.

I'm sure it's a great book. I was just saying why I felt I couldn't go out and try it, even though I'd like to.

I used to buy a lot of TC products, and was loving the Witchblade TV show to death. Now I only buy Tomb Raider as I consider that supporting Lara Croft and Eidos in general.

I know I'm a partial hyppocrite, because by the same token I shouldn't buy Marvel or DC books, but I feel I have to draw a line for myself somewhere.

Unfortunately we won't get the whole story due to the tricky line Wizard has to tread. On one hand they try to report the news. On the other, if they step on any toes with the publishers, their inside scources will dry up.

I bought an issue of The Comics Journal this year for a Steve Rude interview, but I wouldn't get the magazine on a regular basis, as I felt it was mostly coming from an unbalanced left field.

But from an outsider's view, it just looked lke a guy trying desparately to keep his ship from sinking. His biggest star taking a hike, and his two latest books tanking in the sales.

I think Silvestri would better serve himself drawing Witchblade along with the original writers, than doing a guest stint on X-Men. And wishing Turner the best of luck, instead of burning bridges. It makes one wonder what really happened between Silvestri and Liefeld years ago.

"I'm still partially guilty because I refuse to quit on Tomb Raider (which I would be buying regardless of publisher)."
Quote from Briel

HAH!! I am the same way when it comes to Cavewoman....
:nervous:

Wanted is a good book and if you are able check it out I would recomend it- I know how you feel over the whole turner silvestri incident....for me it comes from just wanting to back the right guy (or whichever guy whose opinion or side you most agree with)...but I looked past the publisher and say I am supporting Millar who is a great writer and Jones who is a fantastic artist...what I enjoy most of his art is you can almost say this guy hasn't reached his peak yet and you wanna go along for the ride watching his art evolve.

I totally agree with you on the whole Silvestri should draw in his own books before going over to Marvel but really by drawing for marvel it's psuedo self advertising and by doing this he will hopefully get more people back into top cow.

As for turner....I can't WAIT for his upcoming run on Superman / Batman!! Issues 7 and up featuring of course Wonder Woman!!:p

Should be great.

I picked up Wanted and loved it. I haven't read much Top Cow (mostly b/c I was out of comics for a long time) but this was great. I highly recommend it. I just hope it can hold up after a great first issue.

J.G. Jones is great. I felt Marvel really dropped the ball by not tryimg for a Black Widow ongoing.

Sivestri working on X-Men is a good idea. I just think i was inattention to the home fires which led to Top Cow sales and talent leaving. Now that Hollywood left him holding the bag, I'm sure he is ding everything he can to rebuild the house.

I do love Top Cow. I love a lot of the people who work there. If Tomb Raider sucked, I wouldn't buy it. It is one of my five most favorite books though. Tony Daniel is doing the best work of his carreer, and the new writer rocks. And Renae is the coolest editor, who runs a rockin' letters page for all ages of the fans.

and...

LARA CROFT AND THE CRADLE OF LIFE is tied with X2 for the best comic/action movie of the year! She dusted Hulk and DD in quality if not sales (punk critics who hate action films).

LOTR fans don't jump out, because that is a literary epic that can't even be compared to our normal action fluff. Aples and oranges. LOL!

Man I wish I had a PS2. I want to play the new game so bad!
