The HeroClix game system released four new sets in three different lines this year, which one was your favorite?

the Indy set this year IMO was fantastic. i had so much fun playin' the new clix. it they have appeared many times in mixed games. love those INDY Clix!
Indy, IMO some of the best sculps of any set, lots of strong clix play-wise and few actually weak ones, and it intoduced me to a lot of cool comics besides.

Indy by far. The low cost figures, for the most part, make them a must for mixed games. The sculpts were fantastic and they looked great. The only downside being the UK/US exclusive figures. But that also made them fun to try and track down! :)

I liked xplosion simply because I'm a sucker for x-men!
I have to go with CJ. Great sculpts and fun figs, Love the Legion Team and the Green Lanterns!

I can't decide between Indy and Cosmic Justice. DC Characters are my favorites, and Cosmic Justice had Bizarro, my favorite comic book character, ever. Indy, however, provided the third element that Heroclix desperately needed, and added some really unique (albeit obscure) characters to the fray.
And I'll have you know, I resisted the urge to type numerous clever slams about both Marvel sets in this post, as it is new year's eve, and we should all play nice.

Cosmic Justice. The long anticipation for new DC figures really made this number 1 for me. Critical Mass was cool, but didn't do it for me as much as CJ. I didn't know enough Indy characters to make me that excited for it, and Xplosion, while it had a few decent figures, didn't excite me too much.

CJ beats out Critical Mass by a hair, mainly due to the remarkably stinky paint jobs in CM.

i think CRitical mass mainly because I'm a marvel freak and I hate DC plus I have been wanting a SS

Either CJ or CM?
Xplosion has been the worst to date simply because it brought the Hooker and the Paramedic.
I liked Cosmic Justice best. It contained only interesting characters with no replicas of previous characters except uniques.
Xplosion was not as interesting a set of characters, and while Critical Mass had *many* interesting characters, most of them were uniques while an unprecedented *four* non-uniques were duplicate characters, which irritates me no end.
I'm not interested in what WizKids laughably calls Indy comics. I'd still like to see a *real* Indy comics set: Cerebus, Elfquest, Bone, Finder, Concrete, Nexus, Savage Dragon, Nodwick, Reid Fleming, Madman, Megaton Man (woo!), Usagi Yojimbo, Mr. Monster, Groo, The Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers!, Bacchus, Barry Ween (heh), The Flaming Carrot, the Tyrant T-Rex, The Spirit, Destroyer Duck, the Jam, the Desert Peach, Marshall Law (oh, yeah, baby!), Milk & Cheese, Gnatrat, Miracleman, the Foozle, Cutey Bunny, Scud the disposable assassin, Jack Staff, the Brat Pack, absolutely anything from Matt Howarth, and every single last Bean. And I'm not even counting ABC or Vertigo.
Cosmic Justice with Indy Clix a close second. Xplosion and then Critical Mass round out the rest of my list.

It would be a big tie for second between Crit Mass. bringing in old fav's Capt. Marvel and Beta Ray Thor, and with Indy bringing to me my big fav's Hellboy and Lobster Johnson.
All in all every set realeased this year had it's very strong fav's!!
Can't wait for Heroclix in 2004!!!!
In our mixed play environment, I see more Cosmic Justice figs in regular use than from any other 2003 set.
I WANTED to like Critical Mass best...

Favorite Set, Hmmmm.

Well..
Marvel all the way !!
so there's 2 choices for me: I choose CM because of the host of Spiderman-villains.
Kraven,Venom,Rhino (albeit the ugly Utimate sculpt), etc.
Hebzibah was a nice surpise also..:classic:
For me, the best expansion is Xplosion (with Critical Mass near in quality). Cosmic Justice have lot of fine figures but others I think they are useless. Where is Indy option??
Happy 2004 for all the people in HCREALMS WORLD!!
I would normaly vote for a Marvel set (and all 4 sets were good) but I voted Indy (despite the AWFUL split release) because it contained CrossGen, 2000AD and Danger Girl, and also because it substantialy broadened the figure base.
After all, if Aphrodite IX (with, what, six comic book appearences ?) can be a clix, the any comic character is possible. Even - ahem - Noman.
Come to that, if the Ultimates version of Rhino can make it into CM, then ThunderAGENTS and the Imperial Guard are a virtual certainty !!! Ultimate Rhino only appears in 4 panals of 1 story , for goodness sake.
Indy.
Definitly.
Because it means that, eventualy, we will get EVERYONE !!!
Bwah-ha-ha....(fades off into reverb and echo....)
LoL
All the Best

That was a tough vote.
Loved DC with all it's "heavy hitters" like WW, GL, and MM.
Critical Mass gave me some surprises, like well-done Spider-Man related figs. (Personal favorites.)
But I voted for Xplosion, because I love a lot of the villain interpretations: Mandarin, Scorpion, Madame Masque, Destiny, Mystique, Abomination. Finally getting Iron Man was great.

I only collect DC so I am going to have to say CJ. ( I do by the other sets to play with but I just give them all to my girlfriend.)
Now if Wizkids came out with 2 DC sets next year, I might have a choice.

I voted Indy because I have had the most interesting games playing with that set. Knowing all the characters was a plus but the UK/US thing sucked. Still Indy had amazing sculpts, a lot of strategy, and introduced some interesting and cool characters to the Hero-Clix line. I completely agree with jacobb though, seriously these comics aren't true independents and I have been calling for Scud: the dispossable assasin clix since Indy clix was anounced, can you imagine the sculpts and dial possibilities. Ahh to dream.
Far all who are intersted CJ was second, great sculps too and some really fun powerhouses

My favourite, was, well, the Ones that weren't Indy, although jacobbs mention of this aparant flaming carrot, and gnatrat, do interest me, and I think I would vote for a set that had any character with the word gnat in it.
xplosion followed by cosmic justice...
xplosion got all those cheap 'n' tasty pieces:
paramedic
con artist
destiny
hand ninja (gotta love both)
gambit
silver samurai
mystique
and the not very cheap (but very tasty in that costume):

1ST CJ
2ND INDY
3RD XP
4TH CM
X-Plosion filled in a lot of Marvel gaps. Power pieces, support figs, and con artists! You can't have good versus evil without ladies of the night...

Looks like the Marvel sets are splitting the vote, leading to a DC victory. ;)
CJ was my favorite as well. It's the set I bought the most of, and had the most attractive uniques.
Only bought Indy for marquees, but there's some fun figures in there. They get 2nd from me.
Outside of a pair of boosters, I stuck with marquees for CM as well. Lackluster line-up. 3rd.
Xplosion came out just before I got into clix. I've bought some, but it never really stood out as a set for me; it was just one of the three Marvel sets I had to get caught up on. Taskmaster is as cool as all get out, but there wasn't much else in that set that really excited me. 4th.

CM is the best. i think that cuz i love marvel not sayin that a hate DC. Really the only thing that got me in to heroclix is DC so i have to like it a little:classic:
Ummmm... I have to pick Xplosion (Marvel). I don't know why but I did ;)

For me it's between Xplosion and Cosmic Justice.
As an X-fan, Xplosion brought Storm, Colossus, and Beast as well as their villian counter-parts: Lady Deathstrike, Sauron, Mystique, Destiny, Silver Samurai, Deathbird.
I think those figures have great combinations of powers and cost.
On the downside, it did give us the Paramedic and the Con Artist.
Sculpts / paintjobs were good for Marvel and superior to Critical Mass.
Cosmic Justice brought us: Martian Manhunter, Starfire, Wonder Woman, Amazo, Green Lantern, Bizarro.
The focus was on the stars - the super-heroes, and the big guns, at that. Not the generics or low-costed figs. Plus the sculpts / paintjobs were really well done.
In the end I have to go with Cosmic Justice by a hair.
